Xing Zhaozhao sat on the tractor, facing the wind, and for a moment she wanted to cry but couldn't.
Everything was planned perfectly, but this unexpected incident has completely disrupted things. Now I just hope it won't be delayed for too long.
Amidst the sputtering of the tractor, Xing Zhaozhao endured the agonizing half-hour drive from Xiaogaozhuang to the town.
Finally arriving at the train station, the tractor had barely stopped when Xing Zhaozhao, carrying her package, jumped off eagerly: "Thank you, Uncle Dahan, for bringing me here so specially."
Da Han chuckled dismissively and said, "No need to be polite, it's my pleasure."
As he spoke, he got off the tractor, took the package from Xing Zhaozhao's hand, and said as he walked into the train station, "Come on, I'll take you in."
Xing Zhaozhao's smile froze for a moment, and she quickly chased after him, trying to snatch the package from Da Han's hands: "No need, I can go in by myself. You should go back and get busy, or the captain will scold you if you're late."
Da Han dodged the question and said with a smile, "No, Captain Gao specifically instructed me when we came out that my main task today is to get you on the train."
Xing Zhaozhao's expression froze instantly.
They not only want to take them to the train station, but also put them on the train?
Xing Zhaozhao never dreamed that one day, Captain Gao's concern would become a heavy burden.
She quickly caught up with Da Han: "No need, Uncle Da Han, I can go in by myself..."
Da Han refused: "No, my mother specifically instructed me before she died that no matter what, I must listen to Captain Gao. Captain Gao said he would put you on the train, so I must put you on the train."
Xing Zhaozhao suddenly felt like crying: "..."
When Gao Da got stubborn, no one could resist him. In the end, Xing Zhaozhao was still forcibly put on the train by him. He even took her to a seat, put her bag on the luggage rack, and greeted the other passengers sitting around her: "My niece-in-law is going to the army to see her husband. I hope you brothers and sisters can help look after her on the way."
Upon hearing that Xing Zhaozhao was a military wife, the surrounding passengers were exceptionally enthusiastic, nodding and agreeing repeatedly. The middle-aged woman sitting next to Xing Zhaozhao even warmly took her arm and said to Da Han, "Don't worry, brother, I'll definitely take good care of her."
Da Han thanked them all before leaving.
Xing Zhaozhao had a stiff smile on her lips. She exchanged a few perfunctory words with the uncles and aunts around her. Looking out the train window, she saw that Da Han had finally gone far away. Before she could even breathe a sigh of relief, the train suddenly shook as if it was about to start. Xing Zhaozhao was so frightened that she immediately jumped up from her seat, grabbed her bag from the luggage rack, and was about to leave.
The middle-aged woman sitting next to her suddenly grabbed her arm: "Where are you going?"
"The toilet," Xing Zhaozhao replied casually, then forcefully shook off the older woman and ran towards the connecting area between the carriages.
The older woman was still puzzled: "So urgent?"
She was really anxious. When Xing Zhaozhao ran to the connecting area between the carriages, she saw the train attendant preparing to close the door. She quickly shouted and squeezed through, "Wait a minute, I don't want to sit anymore, let me off."
The train conductor paused in his work.
Now? Go down? That won't do.
Unfortunately, before he could react, Xing Zhaozhao had already darted past him and jumped out of the car.
The railway police on the platform saw it and immediately ran over: "Hey, what are you doing? Don't you want to die?"
Seeing that things were going badly, Xing Zhaozhao quickly fled to avoid further complications.
At home, Hongyu had been waiting by the door for a long time, but Xing Zhaozhao still hadn't returned, so he couldn't help but worry.
Hongfei came out of the house and went to his side: "How is it? Hasn't Mom come back yet?"
Hongyu nodded, then turned to look at her brother, her eyes a little red: "Brother, so much time has passed since we agreed, and Mom still hasn't come back. Could something have happened?"
Hongfei patted his little head reassuringly: "No, he's probably just delayed somewhere. He should be back soon."
As he spoke, he looked up at the sun, which was already high in the sky, but he couldn't help but worry: Could something really have happened?
"Bang!" A hand suddenly slammed on the door.
The two little ones were startled at the same time, but when they saw the owner of the hand, their faces lit up with surprise and joy.
“Mom,” Hongyu blurted out.
Hongfei realized something was wrong and tried to cover his mouth, but it was too late.
Hao Xiuning carried Xiao Hongling out of the house and looked at the two brothers standing at the door, asking in confusion, "Mom? Didn't Sister-in-law Xing already leave?"
Hongyu turned to Hao Xiuning and gave a stiff laugh: "Yes, Mom has been gone for a long time. I just missed her so much that I called out to her."
Hao Xiuning walked over, stretched out a hand, and hugged Hongyu with heartache: "Poor little feather, come here, let Aunt Xiuning give you a hug."
Xing Zhaozhao hid behind the door, not daring to move an inch.
Hongfei reached out and gently poked Hongyu.
Hongyu understood immediately and put on a listless look: "Aunt Xiuning, I feel a little dizzy."
Hao Xiuning looked at his rosy cheeks and touched his forehead: "Is it from the sun?"
She took Hongyu's hand: "Come on, let's go back inside and lie down for a while."
Hongyu obediently followed her into the house, placing her other hand behind her back and slapping Hongfei and Xing Zhaozhao twice to tell them to leave quickly.
With her two sons providing cover, Xing Zhaozhao finally reached the cellar after a whole morning of running around. She felt completely exhausted; she had never felt so tired going home before.
After resting for a while, Xing Zhaozhao gave Hongfei a final hug: "Mommy's leaving now. Please take good care of your younger siblings for Mommy."
After saying that, he turned around, went through the door, and left.
Hongfei reluctantly touched the wall where the door was before turning around and leaving the cellar. He locked the cellar door securely. His mother wouldn't be back for a while, so he had to hide all the good stuff in the cellar well.
At Zhaohong Square, with the sun high in the sky and Xing Zhaozhao still nowhere to be seen, the two bodyguards in black grew impatient and called Lin Wan again: "Grandma, she hasn't arrived yet. Could it be that she's deliberately standing you up and isn't planning on coming?"
Lin Wan's expression also turned somewhat unpleasant. Could it be that she had really been tricked by that little girl?
After a moment of silence, she said softly, "Why don't you come back first?"
"Yes." The two bodyguards in black responded in unison, got into the car, and prepared to leave. As soon as they stepped on the gas, there was a "bang," the car jolted, and then stopped.
The driver was wondering if the car had broken down when the person next to him patted him on the shoulder and pointed outside with a wide-eyed expression.
He looked up and was immediately dumbfounded.
They saw Xing Zhaozhao standing outside their car, panting and smiling at them: "Sorry I'm late."
She braced herself on the hood with one hand, and the hood, which was originally fine, seemed to have been dented by her.
