Chapter 45 Writing a Letter

Xing Zhaozhao returned to the cellar, and as soon as she passed through the door, she saw Hongyu squatting at the door waiting for her.

"Mom." Hongyu rushed to greet Xing Zhaozhao excitedly when he saw her return.

"What? Is Granny Hao here again?" Xing Zhaozhao asked, putting down the large bag she was carrying on her shoulder.

Hongyu shook her head, her big, dark eyes wide open, staring intently at the large bag in her hand. She stuck out her little tongue and licked her lips: "What did Mom bring back today?"

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

So it turns out he was thinking about what she brought back.

That brat.

Xing Zhaozhao raised her hand and gently tapped his forehead: "Stop looking, the bag is full of bed sheets, there's nothing you want in it."

Hongyu rubbed his little head, looking disappointed: "Huh? Not again today?"

Xing Zhaozhao glared at him, but in the end she couldn't bear to disappoint him. She took the basket off her back, took out two pretty paper boxes from it and handed them to him: "Handle them carefully, don't rummage through them."

Hongyu's eyes lit up instantly, and he carefully took it: "What is this?"

"It's delicious," Xing Zhaozhao said.

Upon hearing this, Hongyu's eyes lit up even more, her little nose twitched, and she couldn't resist leaning in to smell it.

It smells so good and sweet, just the way he likes it.

“You and your brother each have one,” Xing Zhaozhao said to him.

The little guy immediately turned around and ran off, saying, "I'm going to find my brother."

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

He doesn't even want his mother anymore as soon as there's food...

"Be careful not to fall." Xing Zhaozhao followed behind as they exited the cellar.

"Understood." The voice came from afar.

"You're not allowed to eat now, we'll be eating soon. If you eat now and then you can't eat later, Mom will spank you!" Xing Zhaozhao quickly added as she thought about the time.

"..."

There was silence. I don't know if they really didn't hear it, or if they were just pretending.

Xing Zhaozhao quickly chased after her.

It was only a short time between them.

When Xing Zhaozhao arrived at the house, she saw that Hongyu had already opened a box, taken out the cake inside, held it in his hands, and taken a bite, with a ring of cheese still on his lips.

Hongfei stood to the side with his copy in hand, looking helpless when he saw Xing Zhaozhao approaching.

He tried to persuade him, but it was no use.

Xing Zhaozhao walked over with a stern face: "Didn't I say that we're going to eat soon? Are you not allowed to eat now? Do you think your mother's words are just going in one ear and out the other?"

Hongyu blinked his innocent eyes: "Really? I didn't hear it."

Xing Zhaozhao went up and slapped him on the butt, then confiscated Hongfei's whole thing and the half he hadn't finished eating, and locked them in the cupboard.

I got beaten up.

Hongyu exclaimed "Ah!"

It just sounds a bit perfunctory.

"I'll go cook." Xing Zhaozhao turned and left, but couldn't help turning back for one last look when she reached the door.

Hongyu, that brat, showed no remorse for having just been scolded and beaten. He grinned and clung to his brother, scraping the cheese off his mouth and trying to stuff it into his brother's mouth, only to be slapped away by his brother in disgust.

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

Xing Zhaozhao shook her head speechlessly and left quickly.

Forget it, out of sight, out of mind.

After the meal, Hongyu kept thinking about the piece of cake he had only taken a bite of, and kept circling in front of Xing Zhaozhao's eyes.

Seeing that Xing Zhaozhao's face was getting worse and worse, Hongfei quickly pulled his younger brother away, and the two of them carried a small basket on their backs and went into the mountains to collect firewood.

With her clingy son away and her youngest daughter fed and asleep, Xing Zhaozhao took out the piece of paper with Xie Tingting's address at the machinery factory written on it from her pocket. She looked at it carefully again, then took out some letter paper, preparing to write a letter to Xie Tingting.

She had it all planned out: first, she would expose Zhang Wenming's true colors to Xie Tingting, and then she would get the evidence from Xie Tingting to stop Zhang Wenming's marriage to Xiu Ning.

However, after writing half of the letter, she thought about it and gave up.

How can I be sure that Xie Tingting will believe me if I write to her rashly?

If she doesn't believe it and asks Zhang Wenming for confirmation, which makes Zhang Wenming suspicious, then things will get complicated.

Even if she truly believed it, there was no guarantee that she would reply to her, providing her with evidence to stop Zhang Wenming and Xiuning's marriage.

If Zhang Wenming suddenly loses his backing and turns to the Hao family as a lifeline, clinging to them and sucking their blood, then things will be even more troublesome.

There are too many uncertainties; one wrong move could leave behind endless trouble.

Xing Zhaozhao frowned, crumpled the half-written letter into a ball, and casually tossed it aside.

It would be best to kill him in one go, leaving him no chance.

Suddenly, Xing Zhaozhao thought of something, and her eyes lit up.

She remembered that the investigation report about Zhang Wenming that Gao Yang showed him mentioned that Xie Tingting's current husband worked in the personnel department of the Beijing Machinery Factory.

Xing Zhaozhao's lips curled up slightly, and she quickly came up with an idea.

She wrote a letter of inquiry to the personnel department of the machinery factory, speaking directly in the voice of the Xiaogaozhuang brigade headquarters, asking about Zhang Wenming's character, personality, and family situation, in order to consider whether he was a suitable marriage partner.

It's just missing an official seal.

Besides Captain Gao, the only person in the brigade headquarters who had access to the official seal was Accountant Zhao.

Captain Gao is a very upright person, so he might be difficult to communicate with. As for Accountant Zhao, I heard his youngest daughter is getting married soon…

Xing Zhaozhao's eyes flickered.

"Ah, ah, ah..." On the kang, Xiao Hongling had woken up at some point and was calling out to people.

Xing Zhaozhao immediately got up and went over: "Our little Hongling is awake? Come on, let Mom see if she's hungry or has wet herself..."

When I opened the diaper, there was no urine, but there was poop.

After washing and drying her bottom, and putting on a new diaper, the little girl finally felt comfortable and gave her mother a toothless smile.

Xing Zhaozhao looked at him with affection and couldn't help but lean in and kiss him: "Baby, are you still sleeping? If you're not sleeping, come for a walk with Mommy, okay?"

Wrapping her daughter up tightly, Xing Zhaozhao carried her in one arm and went to the cellar. She picked out two bright red, festive bed sheets, went down the mountain, and went to Accountant Zhao's house.

Is Aunt Zhao home?

Aunt Zhao was feeding the chickens in the yard when she heard the noise and came out: "I'm here. Who is it?"

When she came out, she saw Xing Zhaozhao standing outside holding a child. Aunt Zhao's smile froze for a moment, but she still managed to maintain it: "So it's Mingcheng's wife. Is there something you need?"

They just stood at the door, showing no intention of inviting anyone in to sit down.

Xing Zhaozhao remembers that when she first returned to the village to live, Aunt Zhao was very welcoming to her.

Perhaps because there was an accountant in the family who was particularly shrewd, Xing Zhaozhao felt a particularly strong sense of coldness and indifference in the Zhao family.

However, it is precisely because of this that it is easier for her to exploit loopholes.

"I did come to see you, Auntie, about something. May I come in and sit for a while?" Xing Zhaozhao asked with a smile.

Aunt Zhao: "..."

Aunt Zhao wasn't really happy about it, but since the other person had been so blunt, she didn't want to embarrass them, so she just smiled politely and invited them in: "Of course, come in quickly."
