Everyone else looked over in surprise. They had just seen them whispering to each other, occasionally letting out a word or two, but no one knew what they were saying.
"What's wrong, Dad?" Gao Han asked curiously.
Gao Hongfei waved his hand dismissively at him, looked at Xing Zhaozhao with a serious expression, and said, "I absolutely will not agree to this. Little Hongling is still so young. If he comes again, I will kick him out."
“That’s right.” Gao Mingcheng echoed with a stern face. On this matter concerning his youngest daughter, he and his son maintained a high degree of agreement.
Xing Zhaozhao chuckled and said, "That's probably impossible. You two are already good brothers. Yesterday, when his dad took him home, you even shared his toys with him."
Gao Hongfei was shocked: "..." Really?
"I'm willing, but would Little Feather be willing?" Gao Hongfei asked.
Xing Zhaozhao nodded: "You and Xiao Yumo are always inseparable, how could you possibly miss him in something like this?"
Gao Hongfei felt as if he had been struck by lightning. Had his home completely fallen?
He glanced at Gao Han and Ling Shuang, a couple who looked completely bewildered and couldn't understand what they were saying, then looked at Xing Zhaozhao seriously and said, "Go back and tell me to make sure that little brat doesn't get close to Xiao Hongling, or our son won't be able to find a wife in the future."
Upon hearing this, Xing Zhaozhao turned to look at Gao Han and Ling Shuang, and nodded with a smile: "Alright, I'll tell you when I get back."
Gao Han and Ling Shuang exchanged a blank look.
One of them looked at him as if asking: What are they talking about?
One shook their head: "I don't understand at all."
"What do you mean your sons won't be able to get married? Grandpa, besides my dad and my uncle, do you have any other sons?" Gao Lianzhou didn't understand and didn't care, so she asked directly.
Gao Hongfei immediately felt Ying Rongrong's gaze on him, a chill ran down his spine, and he lightly slapped Gao Lianzhou on the head: "You little brat, if you don't understand, don't meddle."
After saying that, he smiled and whispered to Ying Rongrong, "Don't listen to this brat's nonsense. I'll explain it to you when we get back."
Ying Rongrong glanced at him sideways without saying a word, but her gaze towards Xing Zhaozhao betrayed a complex mix of emotions. She knew more than the other children in the family and could roughly understand some of the meaning behind Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Hongfei's words, but she simply couldn't bring herself to believe those absurd claims.
Gao Mingcheng had quietly pulled Xing Zhaozhao to his side and whispered, "Don't let those little brats have their eyes on our little Hongling."
"I know, don't worry. Little Hongling is still a child. It's just talk. Who knows what will happen in the future?" Xing Zhaozhao replied softly.
Just then, we heard a "ding" and the elevator arrived.
As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw a large crowd blocking the hotel entrance. I didn't know what had happened. The police officers who had left earlier with the handcuffed Ling Yongde were also blocked there.
"What's going on?" Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Mingcheng exchanged a surprised look and quickly walked towards the door.
The person blocking the doorway was an elderly woman with gray hair, probably in her seventies or eighties. She had an elegant demeanor and seemed to come from a well-off family. Beside her was a young woman in her twenties who looked somewhat like the old woman; she was probably her granddaughter.
The old woman grabbed the policeman who had arrested Ling Yongde and angrily questioned, "Why are you handcuffing him? You're not allowed to leave until you explain yourself."
The police officer said somewhat helplessly, "I'm sorry, ma'am, this involves important details of the case, and it's really inconvenient to disclose them."
The old lady didn't believe it: "Is it inconvenient to disclose, or is it simply something you can't say? I've known him for decades, how could I not know what kind of person he is? You must have made a mistake."
"Is this old lady an old acquaintance of Ling Yongde?" Xing Zhaozhao turned to ask Ling Shuang.
Ling Shuang shook her head blankly: "I don't know, I've never heard of it or seen it before."
Xing Zhaozhao found it strange. Seeing a person in a hotel uniform watching the commotion nearby, she went over and asked, "Excuse me, what's going on here?"
"Oh, that old lady came from Hong Kong Island to visit relatives. She arrived last night and has been trying to contact that old gentleman, but she couldn't reach him. She went out to look for him again today, but still couldn't find him. Unexpectedly, when she came back, she saw the police about to arrest him. She thought there was some misunderstanding and stopped them to demand an explanation."
"From Hong Kong?" Xing Zhaozhao couldn't help but turn to Ling Shuang and ask, "Your family... no, Ling Yongde's family has relatives in Hong Kong?"
Ling Shuang shook her head again: "I really have never heard of it."
Xing Zhaozhao frowned, pushed through the crowd, and asked, "What's going on, officer?"
When the police saw Gao Mingcheng following behind Xing Zhaozhao, they immediately greeted him respectfully, "General."
Gao Mingcheng nodded and responded with an "Mm," then asked, "Why are we stuck here? Aren't we taking the person back right away?"
The police officer looked at Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Mingcheng with a helpless expression and said, "This old lady is blocking us from leaving."
When Ling Yongde saw Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Mingcheng, a look of panic flashed in his eyes, and he quickly looked away.
Xing Zhaozhao happened to see it, sensed something was wrong, and narrowed her eyes slightly.
