Chapter 114 Your son bullied me again

When Chen Xiaoxia returned, it was already completely dark.

She always liked to keep herself neat and tidy, but today, I don't know where she went or what she did. When she came back, her hair was messy and her clothes were wrinkled.

"You're back, Aunt Xia." Xing Zhaozhao greeted her as soon as she saw her.

Chen Xiaoxia was startled to find that Xing Zhaozhao hadn't returned to her room even at this hour. Looking at Xing Zhaozhao with a flustered expression, she asked, "You... why are you still here?"

"The old lady wants you to see her as soon as you get back," Xing Zhaozhao said.

A hint of unease flashed in Chen Xiaoxia's eyes, as if she was somewhat unwilling. She nodded and said, "I understand."

As she spoke, she slowly walked towards Lin Wan's room, gently knocked on the door, and said, "Mom, it's me."

After saying that, she pushed the door open and went inside.

Before the door could be closed, Xing Zhaozhao heard Lin Wan's words slip through the crack in the door and reach her ears: "Went to the mental hospital to see Xiao Mo again?"

Based on what Chen Wei had told her before, Xing Zhaozhao immediately realized what Chen Xiaxia had been doing every day these past few days.

Xiao Mo? Is that the girl?

The next morning, after getting up and having breakfast, Xing Zhaozhao prepared to go out as usual to visit Gao Mingcheng at the hospital. Just as she reached the door, she saw Chen Xiaoxia helping Lin Wan out of the house.

"Good morning, Grandma, Aunt Xia." Xing Zhaozhao immediately greeted them with a smile.

"Good morning." Lin Wan smiled and nodded at her.

Chen Xiaoxia was always a man of few words. When she saw Xing Zhaozhao, she simply nodded slightly as a response.

"Are you getting ready to go to the hospital?" Lin Wan asked, noticing Xing Zhaozhao's outfit.

Xing Zhaozhao nodded, and seeing that they were dressed similarly, she asked, "Are Grandma and Aunt Xia going out too?"

Lin Wan nodded with a smile: "Yes, I have something to take care of."

As for what they were going to do, Lin Wan didn't say for sure, and Xing Zhaozhao didn't press for details. However, considering where Chen Xiaoxia had been going recently, and the fact that Lin Wan had specifically asked Chen Xiaoxia about the girl named Xiao Mo yesterday, Xing Zhaozhao had a rough idea that they were probably going to a mental hospital.

Although I don't know why Lin Wan, who has been in the capital for several days and has been sitting at home drinking tea all day, suddenly wants to visit her granddaughter who has been almost forgotten, it's better to go than not to go.

There were still no door gods at Gao Mingcheng's ward today. Xing Zhaozhao smiled and walked in with peace of mind. Unfortunately, the smile on her face did not last long. When she saw the person sitting inside, she froze instantly.

I never expected Gao Hongfei to be here so early in the morning.

Thinking about what she had heard from Chen Wei yesterday, Xing Zhaozhao couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.

Although he was technically a victim as well, if he hadn't let the wolf into the house and allowed Lin Wan to stay by his side, such a thing wouldn't have happened. So, in a way, he wasn't entirely innocent.

I don't know if Mingcheng beat him up, but she really wants to beat him up right now.

How exactly does Lin Wan resemble her that he would mistake her for her? Is he blind? He's angry.

Xing Zhaozhao was seething with anger, and her words inevitably carried a hint of irritation: "How did you end up here?"

Gao Hongfei looked at Xing Zhaozhao with a puzzled expression: "This is my father's hospital room, why can't I be here?"

As he spoke, his face darkened: "But you, who allowed you to come in?"

“It’s permitted by the state. I’m your father’s wife, so of course I can come in,” Xing Zhaozhao said matter-of-factly.

Gao Hongfei was amused and annoyed: "Words are no proof. Since it's permitted by the state, show me the proof."

“Go to your dad’s. Ask him for it.” Xing Zhaozhao said, walking straight over and moving Gao Hongfei, chair and all, away from Gao Mingcheng’s bedside. She then dragged a chair over and sat down herself.

Gao Hongfei sat there dumbfounded, staring at Xing Zhaozhao, speechless. How could someone pull such a crazy stunt?

Xing Zhaozhao glanced at Gao Hongfei, grabbed Gao Mingcheng's hand, and complained to him, "Your son bullied me again. Not only did he not let me come in to see you, but he also kept glaring at me. I'm so scared. You have to wake up quickly and support me."

Gao Hongfei: "..." How could there be such a shameless woman in this world, lying through her teeth and taking advantage of her father's unconscious state to make false accusations?

Gao Mingcheng: "..."

Gao Mingcheng gently squeezed Xing Zhaozhao's hand: Don't bully our son.

Xing Zhaozhao grabbed Gao Hongfei's hand and made him hold Gao Mingcheng's hand: "Your dad is talking to you, telling you not to bully me."

Gao Mingcheng: "..."

Gao Hongfei was speechless. His father was still unconscious; how could he talk to her like that?

The next moment, he felt Gao Mingcheng gently squeeze his hand. Although it was very light, he could clearly feel it. His nose tingled and his voice choked up as he said, "You know, Dad, I won't bully her anymore."

Gao Mingcheng: "..."

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

That silly son.

Gao Hongfei sniffed and turned to look at Xing Zhaozhao: "Thank you."

Xing Zhaozhao was taken aback: "Why are you thanking me?"

“If it weren’t for you, my dad wouldn’t have recovered so quickly,” Gao Hongfei said. “Although it’s absolutely impossible for me to call you Mom, I will try my best to meet any needs you may have in the future.”

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

I need you to call me "Mom," can you do that, you stupid son?

Just then, Gao Hongfei's phone rang.

"Sorry." He apologized to Xing Zhaozhao and walked aside to answer the phone. "Hello? It's me. Did she go to your place? What did the doctor say? If it can really improve her condition, let them see her through. I just don't know if she's up to something again by suddenly going there this time. Remember to keep a close eye on her..."

Qingshan Mental Hospital.

In the reception room, Chen Xiaomo was held tightly by two strong caregivers. She looked longingly at Lin Wan and Chen Xiaoxia, who were sitting on the sofa not far from her, hugging each other and crying like babies. She kept calling out "Mom, Grandma" and struggled to rush into their arms, but she couldn't manage it. She couldn't help but sob softly.

Lin Wan suddenly broke free from Chen Xiaoxia's hand and knelt down in front of the doctor with a "plop": "Please, doctor, I really just came to see my little granddaughter, I have no other intentions, please have mercy and let me hold her."

As Lin Wan cried out, Chen Xiaomo's sobs grew louder: "Grandma, I want Grandma, I want Grandma..."

The doctor quickly helped Lin Wan up: "Grandma, get up quickly. Kneeling won't help me. I really can't make the decision. We have to wait for Mr. Gao's decision."

Just then, the hospital director who had gone out to contact Gao Hongfei returned and nodded to the doctor.

The doctor breathed a sigh of relief, looked at the two caregivers, and gestured for them to let go.

As soon as she was free, Chen Xiaomo immediately nestled into Lin Wan's arms like a fledgling swallow, rubbing her head against her and saying, "Grandma, Xiaomo missed you so much! Why did you only come to see Xiaomo now..."

Lin Wan hugged her little granddaughter tightly: "Xiao Mo, Grandma's Xiao Mo..."

No one noticed that a glint of light flashed in her lowered eyes...
