Chapter 99 Preparation

Not knowing when she would be back from this trip to Beijing, Xing Zhaozhao headed straight to the supermarket to stock up on food for her three children, especially since Xiao Hongling's milk powder was running out, so she wanted to buy a few more cans.

Just then, as she passed by the pedestrian street, Xiao Xu, the vendor, saw her from afar and immediately waved to her with a smile: "Sister, you're here! I've prepared everything you agreed on before."

Xing Zhaozhao thought about it and realized that she should indeed send another batch of goods to Fei Ge before going to the capital, so she stopped and asked, "What kind of goods are they?"

Xiao Xu, the vendor, quickly took out all the samples he had prepared in advance.

Xing Zhaozhao picked through the items one by one: "I want this laundry soap, I also want this bar soap, this style of watch is fine, but I don't want a digital watch, do you have any of those old-fashioned tin flashlights...?"

After making her selection, Xing Zhaozhao instructed the peddler, Xiao Xu: "I'll give you one hour. Just prepare the goods for me, and make it into a bundle this big, so I can lift it with one hand."

As Xing Zhaozhao spoke, she gestured to the vendor, Xiao Xu, to show him his height.

The vendor, Xiao Xu, gasped. So big?

However, upon further reflection, considering Xing Zhaozhao's strength, it wasn't surprising.

An hour later, when Xiao Xu, the peddler, saw Xing Zhaozhao walking over with a bundle that was almost the same size as the one he had prepared, he was still dumbfounded.

"Sister, can you carry this?" the vendor, Xiao Xu, asked.

“No problem.” Xing Zhaozhao said, asked the vendor for the bill, paid the bill, picked up two bundles, and quickly walked away.

When they passed by Renmin Road, several elderly men saw it and were all dumbfounded: "Why did you buy so much stuff this time, Xiao Xing?"

Xing Zhaozhao smiled at them and said, "I have some things to take care of when I go back this time, so I probably won't be coming back for a while. Please don't worry too much, gentlemen."

The elderly men all looked regretful: "Come and have fun sooner when you're done with your work!"

"Okay," Xing Zhaozhao replied with a smile.

Xing Zhaozhao bought a lot of things this time, and she had to make several trips back and forth to carry all the contents of the two large bundles back to her cellar.

Hearing the commotion, Hongyu ran over and was both surprised and delighted to see so many things in the cellar. He asked, "Mom, why did you buy so many things this time?"

As Xing Zhaozhao sorted and packed the items she bought from the vendor Xiao Xu, she said, "Mom is going to be away from home for a while, so I'm preparing more for you."

Hongyu was curiously looking through the things Xing Zhaozhao had bought when she heard Xing Zhaozhao's words. Her little body stiffened instantly, and she turned to look at her with a worried expression on her face: "Where is Mommy going?"

“Mom is going to find Dad,” Xing Zhaozhao said.

Upon hearing this, Hongyu became anxious and grabbed Xing Zhaozhao's waist, saying, "I want to go too."

Xing Zhaozhao patted his little hand comfortingly and pointed to the door beside her: "But you can't go."

Hongyu looked dejected: "Didn't Mom say last time that she wouldn't take care of Dad anymore?"

“Last time, Mom had a misunderstanding with Dad. This time, Mom heard that something seems to have happened to Dad, so she has to go and see. Little Feather doesn’t want anything to happen to Dad, right?” Xing Zhaozhao squatted down and looked at Hongyu’s little face, saying.

Hongyu twisted his little body, still unwilling, but he gave in. He held Xing Zhaozhao's hand tightly and asked, "How long will Mom be gone?"

Xing Zhaozhao was also unsure: "I don't know, maybe ten days to half a month."

"Isn't that even longer than when Mom went to the hospital to give birth to Xiao Hongling? Mom won't not come back, will she?" Hongyu asked worriedly.

Xing Zhaozhao laughed: "How could that be? Mom's three most beloved little darlings are all here. Even if I have to crawl, I'll crawl back to be with you."

"Let's pinky swear." Hongyu held out her little finger.

Xing Zhaozhao smiled and hooked her finger.

Xing Zhaozhao breathed a sigh of relief after persuading Hongyu. She had thought it would take some effort to talk to Hongfei, but to her surprise, Hongfei accepted it quickly after listening: "Don't worry, Mom, I will take good care of my younger brother and sister at home."

Xing Zhaozhao's eyes reddened, and she hugged her eldest son tightly. Her Dafei was still as sensible as ever, making her heart ache.

"Mom will talk to Grandma Hao and ask Aunt Xiuning to come and take care of you for a while," Xing Zhaozhao began to instruct.

Hongfei nodded: "Okay."

"Mom has added a lot of things to the cellar. Just take what you need, but be careful not to let anyone see you," Xing Zhaozhao continued to instruct.

Hongfei nodded again: "Mm."

"in addition……"

After briefly explaining the family matters to her eldest son, Xing Zhaozhao hurriedly left home. With less than two days left, she needed to make sure everything was settled before leaving.

She went directly to the town's black market to find Fei Ge and handed him a bag.

Fei Ge was surprised to see new stock arrive so soon. He happily reached out and took it, asking, "What is it this time?"

Upon opening it, Fei Ge's eyes immediately lit up: "A watch?!" And the style was even more fashionable than those currently on the market.

"Where did you get this from...?"

Fei looked at Xing Zhaozhao curiously, but he didn't say anything in the end.

It's better not to understand some things too clearly.

"I have some other things here, it would be too conspicuous to bring them all with me. Have Xiaofa come to my place tonight to move them." Xing Zhaozhao told Fei Ge, and left quickly without lingering.

She walked around the town for a while, and when she realized it was almost time, she went to the intersection leading out of the town, where the village's tractor was parked.

"Uncle Da Han, are you going back now? Can you give me a ride?" she asked, looking at Gao Da Han who was driving the tractor with a flustered expression.

"Oh, it's Mingcheng's wife." Gao Dahan glanced at Xing Zhaozhao, noticing her anxious expression, and asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Xing Zhaozhao nodded: "Yes, I have urgent business to attend to when I go back to see Captain Gao."

Upon hearing this, Gao Dahan didn't even ask what was going on, and immediately started the tractor: "Quick, get on the tractor."

"Thank you, Uncle Da Han." Xing Zhaozhao said gratefully, and immediately climbed into the tractor's trailer with nimble hands and feet. She had just stood firmly when the tractor shook and rushed off.

Other villagers were also coming to take the tractor back, but when they saw Da Han suddenly drive away, they hurriedly chased after the tractor, shouting, "Wait, Da Han, we haven't gotten on the tractor yet!"

I don't know if Da Han heard me, but he didn't stop. He drove the tractor away quickly, chugging along.

Da Han took Xing Zhaozhao directly to the entrance of the brigade headquarters.

"Thank you, Uncle Da Han." Xing Zhaozhao jumped off the tractor, gave Uncle Da Han a forced smile, and hurriedly rushed into the brigade headquarters.
