After descending the mountain, Xing Zhaozhao greeted the old men along the way and headed straight to the pedestrian street to find Xiao Xu, the street vendor.
"You've finally arrived, sis." Little Xu, the vendor, had been waiting impatiently. "The mother who ordered the clothes before has come to ask about it several times recently."
Xing Zhaozhao handed the bundle to the peddler, Xiao Xu: "Isn't today the deadline?"
With a pained expression, Xiao Xu, the street vendor, said, "You know today is the deadline, right, sister? If you don't come soon, I'm afraid I'll have to break my contract."
As she spoke, Xiao Xu, the peddler, opened the bundle. Upon seeing what was inside, her bitter face quickly disappeared, replaced by a look of surprise: "Holy crap, amazing, sis, even the packaging has been upgraded."
Each outfit came with a matching handmade tote bag and a miniature doll keychain, making him want to sell them separately to maximize profits.
Xing Zhaozhao smiled and said, "After all, they spent such a high price, so of course we should give them a good shopping experience."
A moment later, Xiao Xu, the street vendor, returned with a sour face: "There are just too few." Excluding the set that the mother ordered last time, there are only five sets left in total.
"It's only been half a month, and it's all handmade. This is the result of working through the night. You should be satisfied," Xing Zhaozhao said. She couldn't very well treat Xiaolan like a servant.
Xiao Xu, the street vendor, sighed helplessly, "Then we can only leave it at that for now." He did have an idea, but it was just an idea at the moment. He planned to make a plan in a couple of days and then have a proper talk with Xing Zhaozhao.
Xing Zhaozhao had no idea what Xiao Xu, the peddler, was thinking. She handed him the order slip: "Here, this is what I ordered."
The vendor, Xiao Xu, took the order, quickly scanned it, and replied, "No problem," while simultaneously taking out his phone to notify the delivery person.
"Same as always, I'll come back to pick it up later." Xing Zhaozhao waved to Xiao Xu, the peddler, and left first.
Little Xu, the vendor, nodded and was contacting someone to deliver the goods when someone noticed the pretty new bags on his stall and gathered around: "These bags are so pretty, how much are they?"
The vendor, Xiao Xu, quickly finished his call and said with a smile, "This bag isn't sold separately." As he spoke, he took the clothes inside out to show her.
Wow, the little clothes are so cute.
"Where is it? Let me see..."
"How much are these little clothes, boss?"
"I'll take this set, boss."
"This is what I want."
"I got this first, let go, or I'll scratch you."
At first, Xiao Xu, the street vendor, was quite happy to see customers coming. But as more and more customers arrived, cold sweat began to bead on his forehead. What if he told them that he only had five sets of these little clothes? Would they tear them apart alive?
Xing Zhaozhao was unaware of what had happened to Xiao Xu, the street vendor. As soon as she came out of the pedestrian street, she called Qin Shi directly.
Qin Shi was overjoyed to receive Xing Zhaozhao's call: "Sister Xing? You're up again? Did you deliver the letter to my grandparents?"
"Call her aunt," Xing Zhaozhao corrected.
Qin Shi was taken aback: "What?"
“Your grandparents just recognized me as their goddaughter, so now I’m your aunt, not your older sister,” Xing Zhaozhao said.
"That's great." Qin Shi didn't mind at all and replied with a smile, "Now that my grandparents have my aunt to rely on in the afterlife, I can rest easy." A ghost messenger who can communicate with the spirit world, he won't have to worry about other little ghosts bullying his two old ghosts anymore.
This made the misunderstanding even bigger. Xing Zhaozhao was torn about whether to tell him the truth, but in the end she thought better of it and decided to let the misunderstanding remain.
"Let's meet. Your grandparents asked me to give you a message," Xing Zhaozhao said.
"Really?" Qin Shi was overjoyed. "Okay, okay, okay, I'll be right there. By the way, where shall we meet?"
"Let's stay at Xunlan Teahouse," Xing Zhaozhao said.
"Okay, I'm coming right now." Qin Shi said, and before Xing Zhaozhao could say anything, he hung up the phone and set off.
Xing Zhaozhao entered the Xunlan Tea House.
"Welcome." The waiter immediately greeted us. "May I ask..."
Before she could finish speaking, she recognized Xing Zhaozhao, her eyes lit up, and she said, "Oh, it's you."
Xing Zhaozhao smiled and nodded, then looked around, surprised to not see Fu Hong: "Where's your boss?"
The waiter gave a bitter smile and said, "Our boss fainted after hearing the news of his sister's death and has been ill ever since."
"Are you alright now?" Xing Zhaozhao asked with concern.
The waiter nodded: "She's still in the hospital. Her family came all the way from out of town. We visited her yesterday, and she looked much better than before. She should be fine."
"That's good." Xing Zhaozhao was relieved.
"The usual seat, the usual?" the waiter asked. Although she hadn't been here many times, they had already figured out her habits.
"Mm." Xing Zhaozhao nodded.
The waiter led Xing Zhaozhao to a seat, then turned and left, secretly hiding in a corner to call Fu Hong: "Boss, Miss Xing is here again."
"I'm coming right away. Don't let her leave before I get there."
"Understood, boss."
At the hospital, Fu Hong hung up the phone, got out of bed, and went to the closet to find her clothes, preparing to change before being discharged.
Her daughter, Dong Fanghua, had just returned from buying some fruit when she saw the old lady rummaging through the cupboard. She quickly went over and stopped her, asking, "Mom, what are you doing?"
Fu Hong pulled her hand away from Dong Fanghua's, took out a set of clothes from the closet, and prepared to change: "I have to go back to the store for something."
“What urgent matter could there be in the shop that requires a patient like you to handle? Can’t they do it themselves?” Dong Fanghua asked.
“No, that won’t work,” Fu Hong said.
Dong Fanghua choked for a moment, then asked, "What is it? I'll go and take care of it for you."
“You can’t do it either, I have to go myself,” Fu Hong said.
Dong Fanghua grabbed Fu Hong tightly: "What exactly happened? I won't let you go unless you explain it to me clearly."
Fu Hong stared intently at Dong Fanghua: "I need to see someone. If I don't see them, I won't die in peace. Do you want me to die with my eyes open?"
Dong Fanghua: "..." This accusation is too serious.
Dong Fanghua thought for a moment and said, "Then let me go with you. Otherwise, you can forget about going."
Fu Hong looked at her daughter, hesitated for a long time, and finally nodded in agreement: "Well... okay, when you meet them, you better be polite. If you mess things up for me, I'll slap you."
Dong Fanghua: "..." She's old enough to be retired, having dedicated her life to teaching and educating people. She never expected to hear her mother say she was going to hit her. She'd better go and keep an eye on it to see who her mother is meeting that's so important.
