Chapter 331 Is it preparing to go to heaven?

Seeing the man's thieving hand slowly reaching towards Xing Zhaozhao, Gao Mingcheng's face darkened. He immediately strode over and grabbed the man's hand: "What are you doing?"

The man stood there, stunned, not having had time to react. Xing Zhaozhao, who had walked ahead, heard Gao Mingcheng's familiar voice and turned around to look at him: "Mingcheng? What are you doing here?"

"You said you were going out to buy groceries, but you didn't bring any money or tickets, so I specially brought them to you." Gao Mingcheng used the same excuse he had used on the old principal and the others without batting an eye.

Xing Zhaozhao took out money and tickets from her pocket: "I brought them."

"Oh, then it seems I made a mistake," Gao Mingcheng said without changing his expression.

"Really?" Xing Zhaozhao looked at Gao Mingcheng with suspicion, then her gaze fell on the man he was holding: "What's going on here...?"

“I just saw him following you suspiciously, and I suspect he’s trying to steal something,” Gao Mingcheng said.

The man, though called a man, was actually just a boy of about ten years old. He quickly shook his head and said, "Misunderstanding, misunderstanding. I didn't mean to steal anything. I just saw Sister Xing and wanted to come over and say hello."

“You are…” Xing Zhaozhao looked at him and felt that he looked somewhat familiar.

The young man stood ramrod straight: "My name is Little Cat, Sister Xing. I work for Brother Fei. Last time when you beat Old Gou and his gang to a pulp, I was watching from the sidelines. You're amazing! I admire you so much, Sister Xing."

As he spoke, he looked at Xing Zhaozhao, his eyes shining brightly, with an innocent and adorable appearance, just like that silly little Wang Xiaofa.

Fei Ge? Lao Gou? Beaten to a pulp?

Gao Mingcheng slowly crossed his arms, looked at Xing Zhaozhao, and narrowed his eyes slightly. It seemed she was still hiding something from him, something she hadn't told him.

Xing Zhaozhao felt her scalp tingle under Gao Mingcheng's gaze and didn't dare to turn her head to look at him. She looked at the kitten, forced a stiff grin, and chuckled, "So it was you." Actually, she didn't remember who the kitten was at all. Fei Ge had quite a few men under him, and she was only familiar with a few of them.

The kitten was overjoyed: "Sister Xing, do you still remember me?"

"Of course." Xing Zhaozhao said, then, as if remembering something, instructed him, "It's good to have met you, so I don't have to make a special trip to find Brother Fei. Go find Brother Fei and get me two pieces of fresh pork, then bring them to the entrance of Dacheng Street and wait for me."

"Okay, Sister Xing, I'll go right away." After saying that, the kitten quickly turned around and disappeared in a flash.

Xing Zhaozhao turned her head and met Gao Mingcheng's scrutinizing gaze. Knowing she couldn't avoid it, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and ask, "What?"

"Brother Fei? Old Gou? Zhao Zhao, is there something you're hiding from me?" Gao Mingcheng asked.

Xing Zhaozhao turned around and continued walking towards Tonghua Lane, saying, "Didn't I already tell you about Fei Ge's matter? Why are you asking again?"

Gao Mingcheng followed up: "The one in charge of the black market? What about Lao Gou?"

Having no other choice, Xing Zhaozhao had to tell Gao Mingcheng about her fight with Lao Gou.

Gao Mingcheng raised an eyebrow upon hearing this: "Well, you've gotten into a brawl. If I don't come back soon, are you planning to fly to the moon?"

Xing Zhaozhao turned around, put her hands on her hips and looked at him: "If I really went to heaven, what were you going to do?"

Gao Mingcheng stared at her for a moment, then sighed helplessly: "What else can we do? We'll keep you below so you don't accidentally fall off and get hurt."

Xing Zhaozhao pursed her lips, which she couldn't suppress as she forced a smile forward: "That's more like it."

As she continued walking, she tilted her head to look at Gao Mingcheng, who was still following her, and asked, "Did you really think I didn't bring any money, that's why you came here?"

"Hmm." Gao Mingcheng responded. Seeing someone coming from ahead, Xing Zhaozhao, who wasn't watching where she was going, almost bumped into them. He quickly pulled the person closer to him and held on tightly, never letting go.

"You're lying. The market isn't in this direction. If you really thought I didn't bring any money, you shouldn't have looked this way," Xing Zhaozhao said.

"So you did know that?" Gao Mingcheng turned to look at her and said.

Xing Zhaozhao pursed her lips and remained silent.

"What are you going to Tonghua Lane for now? To find the treasure your godparents hid? Isn't now the wrong time?" Gao Mingcheng asked.

Xing Zhaozhao shook her head, her expression somewhat grave, and said, "I suspect those things may have already been stolen."

"What did you find over there?" Gao Mingcheng keenly sensed.

Xing Zhaozhao nodded: "Knowing that my godparents had hidden something, I went over and told Ashi. As a result, we found a bracelet, which we bought from an auction house."

"Didn't you follow the clues?" Gao Mingcheng asked.

"I've looked for it. It seems to have been stolen about two years ago, so I want to go over there as soon as possible to see if the items are still there. If they are, I'll try to get them back first," Xing Zhaozhao said.

"What if they're no longer here?" Gao Mingcheng asked.

Xing Zhaozhao thought of Liu Feiyue, and a sharp glint flashed in her eyes: "We still have to find a way to get him back. We can't let those bad guys get away with it."

"You already know who stole it?" Gao Mingcheng asked astutely, noticing something amiss in Xing Zhaozhao's tone.

"I have an idea, but I'm not entirely sure yet," Xing Zhaozhao said.

As they spoke, the two had already arrived at Tonghua Lane.

Xing Zhaozhao pulled Gao Mingcheng and walked straight towards the small villa at No. 6.

As soon as I reached the gate, before I could even knock, I saw through the beautiful wrought iron gate that two women were fighting, pulling each other's hair and rolling around on the ground, covered in mud, but no one seemed to care.

"You dared to dig up my vegetable garden, you dared to dig up my vegetable garden..."

"I've said it so many times, it wasn't me, it wasn't me, it wasn't me..."

"It's you, it's you, it's you! Of everyone in this whole villa, you're the only one who has a grudge against me. Who else could it be but you?"

"Ah, ah, ah..."

Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Mingcheng watched from outside, dumbfounded: "..."

Perhaps it was because Xing Zhaozhao and Gao Mingcheng's gazes were too intense, but the two who were fighting fiercely turned their heads to look at them at the same time.

"What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen someone fight before?" the two asked almost simultaneously, annoyed. Even at this moment, neither of them let go of the other's hair, as if afraid that if they loosened their grip even slightly, the other would gain the upper hand.

"I'm sorry," Xing Zhaozhao said apologetically.

"What are you two doing?" the two asked, still entangled in their grip.

“We… came to find someone.” Xing Zhaozhao said, peeking into the yard, paying particular attention to the vegetation. She immediately noticed that the vegetables on one side were still lush and green, while the other side had been completely uprooted. Her heart sank. Oh no, we’re too late.

Who are you looking for?

"Was the person who used to live here surnamed Qin?" Xing Zhaozhao asked.

"That's right."

Do you know where they moved to?

"It seems to be Dacheng Street. You can try looking there."

"Thank you." Xing Zhaozhao said, pulling Gao Mingcheng to leave, but then stopped and asked, feigning curiosity, "Why did you dig up one side of your vegetable garden completely?"

One of the women glared at the other with a fierce look in her eyes: "This shameless bastard dug it out."

Another person felt like they were being driven crazy: "I already said it wasn't me."

"Who else could it be but you?" After saying that, the two people, who had just paused for a moment, started fighting again.

Xing Zhaozhao: "..."

"When was it removed?" she asked one last time.

"About six or seven days ago." The two were rolling around in a ball, and Xing Zhaozhao couldn't tell who was saying it at first.

"Thank you." After saying thank you one last time, she took Gao Mingcheng's hand and left.
