When Xing Zhaozhao returned to her cellar, she tidied up the things that were piled up inside. Apart from the goods she bought from Xiao Xu the peddler, which she couldn't finish eating in a short time, she planned to send them all to Fei Ge to sell, in order to replenish her savings.
In the future, as the old principal, Xiao Qinshi, and Fu Lan earn more and more, if she doesn't work harder to earn money, her savings may not be enough to cover her expenses.
After packing everything to send to Fei Ge, Xing Zhaozhao had just stepped out of the cellar when she heard Xiao Hongling's loud wailing from ahead.
She didn't pay much attention at first, since Fu Lan was there anyway, and even if she, as the mother, wasn't there, the little girl could be coaxed away quickly.
She locked the cellar door with peace of mind, and even tugged on the lock to make sure it was secure before turning to go into the front room. However, as she walked, she quickly sensed something was wrong. Why was Little Red Riding still crying?
Could something have happened?
Xing Zhaozhao frowned and quickened her pace. Just as she was about to reach the front yard, she suddenly heard a commotion coming from there. It sounded like a bunch of people were huddled together in a chaotic manner, and some of them were arguing.
"Put it down, that's our piglet." This was Hongyu's angry voice.
"Anyway, you don't eat them. You've made the little piglets so thin. You might as well give them to your great-uncle." A strange male voice said.
"Why did you steal my sister's apple? Give it back!" Even the usually good-tempered Hongfei got angry.
"Why is such a little brat eating such good fruit? Good things should be saved for the men in the family." A pesky little brat's voice rang out, and he took a bite with a "crunch".
Little Red Riding Hide cried even louder.
Fu Lan seemed to be trying to coax him, but she couldn't coax him at all.
"What are you doing eating fruit, you little brat? Give it to Grandma." A strange woman's voice interrupted, and she also took a bite.
The annoying little brat started crying loudly.
Hongyu was furious: "Black General, bite him, bite him to death!"
"Woof woof..." General Black joined the battle.
"You filthy dog, you dared to bite me! You're asking for it!" the man cursed angrily.
Xing Zhaozhao's heart sank upon hearing this, and she immediately ran over. Seeing the once peaceful yard now a chaotic mess of people, young and old, all tangled together, shouting, crying, and screaming, her face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot. She roared, "What are you all doing?"
The once chaotic and noisy courtyard immediately fell silent, leaving only Xiao Hongling's unrestrained crying.
When Xiao Hongling saw Xing Zhaozhao return, she stretched out her arms, wanting Xing Zhaozhao to hug her.
Seeing Xiao Hongling crying so pitifully, Xing Zhaozhao felt heartbroken and quickly reached out to hug her, gently patting her little back to comfort her: "It's okay, Mommy's back, Xiao Hongling, don't be afraid."
Little Hongling sobbed, then pointed at the old lady who had just snatched her apple and shouted a single word: "Hit her!"
Xing Zhaozhao's head buzzed and exploded instantly. She looked at her daughter in disbelief, her voice trembling with excitement: "Our little Hongling can talk? Call, call me 'Mommy' so I can hear it."
Little Red Riding Hood stubbornly pointed at the old woman and said, "Hit her."
“No, call her Mom, Mom,” Xing Zhaozhao tried to correct her.
Little Red Diamond ignored her completely and insisted, "Hit."
Xing Zhaozhao: "..."
Xing Zhaozhao felt like the sky was falling. The first "Mom" she had been waiting for so long turned into a beating.
Her piercing gaze swept over every face in the yard, finally settling on the old woman who had snatched her daughter's apple. She gritted her teeth and said, "Where did all these bastards come from, running wild in my house?"
The old lady shuddered under Xing Zhaozhao's gaze, but stubbornly held her head high, trying to assert her authority as an elder: "How can you talk like that? I'm your aunt. How did your parents raise you? Is this how you treat your elders?"
Xing Zhaozhao kicked him directly: "You snatched something from a little girl who isn't even a year old yet, and you dare to act like an elder in front of me?"
Aunt Lin immediately clutched her chest and rolled on the ground, crying out, "Ouch, ouch, someone's killing me! Someone come quick, help me! My niece's going to kill her aunt!" Although Xing Zhaozhao hadn't actually kicked her in the chest, it didn't stop her from putting on an act.
Xing Zhaozhao gave her a cold look: "Scream, scream all you want. Didn't you see where I live when you came up here? Even if you scream your lungs out, no one will hear you."
Aunt Lin's shouts stopped abruptly, and she looked at Xing Zhaozhao with a terrified expression. This was someone who didn't play by the rules; she couldn't win.
She immediately looked to her uncle Lin for help.
This time, she and Uncle Lin brought their two young grandsons with them. Their son and daughter-in-law were still in town looking after the house and didn't come with them to help. The two young grandsons were too scared to help, so only Uncle Lin was there.
Xing Zhaozhao also turned to look at Uncle Lin.
Uncle Lin was holding a piglet in his arms, with a black general hat hanging on his trouser leg. When he saw Xing Zhaozhao's face, which looked remarkably similar to his younger sister's, he subconsciously shuddered.
"Uncle?" Xing Zhaozhao called out.
“Yes, yes,” Uncle Lin replied.
Xing Zhaozhao smiled and said, "When my mother was still alive, I often heard her mention my eldest uncle."
Uncle Lin looked surprised: "Really? When did my little sister become so kind?"
“Really, Mom told me that when I see my uncle in the future, I must treat him well,” Xing Zhaozhao said.
Uncle Lin's eyes lit up: "Really?" His younger sister has actually changed her personality?
“Yes, wait a moment.” Xing Zhaozhao said, handing the little red jade pendant to Fu Lan before turning and going to the kitchen.
Seeing this, Uncle Lin felt relieved and called out to the kitchen, "Niece, you don't need to prepare too many dishes, just ten or eight will be enough. But you have to roast this little piglet for me first..."
As soon as he finished speaking, Uncle Lin saw Xing Zhaozhao come out of the kitchen, carrying a knife. The smile on his face instantly froze, and painful memories resurfaced. He stammered, "Big...big sister, let's...let's talk this out..."
