Chapter 250 Finding Ling Xiao

"Fei, Brother Fei?" Sun Liang looked terrified when he saw Brother Fei. He had just bumped his nose and was bleeding. He didn't even bother to wipe it away. He instinctively turned around to run away, but Brother Fei grabbed him by the neck and pulled him back.

"You stole my goods and you think you can get away? Dream on." Fei Ge said coldly, "Either return the goods, or give me the money, or leave your life behind. Choose one." Of course, he was just trying to scare Sun Liang. He was a legitimate businessman, although his business wasn't exactly legitimate these days, but he would never do something that would cost someone their life.

Sun Liang was indeed frightened and immediately knelt down before Fei Ge with a "plop," pleading, "Please, Fei Ge, let me go this time. I really never intended to steal your goods."

"What about my goods?" Fei asked.

Sun Liang, his face pale, stammered for a moment, then stammered, "That's all."

"If you don't have the goods, then pay me back," Fei Ge said.

Sun Liang trembled even more violently: "I don't have any money either."

Fei Ge's face darkened. He grabbed the man's collar and lifted him up: "No goods, no money, and you still dare to say you didn't steal my goods?"

"I really didn't mean to steal your goods, I had no choice." Sun Liang cried, tears and snot streaming down his face.

"Cough cough cough cough." A series of violent coughs suddenly rang out in the room, followed by an old voice asking, "What's wrong, Ryoko? What happened outside?"

Sun Liang quickly wiped away his tears and snot, cleared his throat, and pretended that nothing had happened, saying, "It's nothing, Mom. It's just a brother who has helped me a lot coming to see me."

"Really? It's rare for you to have friends visiting, you must treat them well. Slaughter the old hen and stew it," said Grandma Sun.

Sun Liang's expression changed, and he said, "How can that be? The old hen still needs to lay eggs for you every day to nourish your body."

"I'm fine, you take good care of the guests first," said Grandma Sun.

Fei Ge couldn't stand it anymore and said loudly, "No need, Auntie. I came here to ask Liangzi for help. I'll be leaving in a bit."

"Oh, I see. Well then, Liangzi, you must help if you can. After all, he has helped us so many times." Grandma Sun instructed.

"Okay, Mom," Sun Liang quickly replied.

After seeing off Old Mrs. Sun, Fei Ge dragged a stool over and sat down in the courtyard, coldly staring at Sun Liang.

Sun Liang had been doing black market business for over a year, and the goods he got from him were of good quality, so he should have made a lot of money. However, because he had a paralyzed and seriously ill old mother at home, it was like a bottomless pit. No matter how much he earned, he could not fill that hole. The house was dilapidated and could not be repaired, and he was thin and frail, clearly suffering from chronic malnutrition.

Although Fei-ge felt sorry for him, he wouldn't act like a saint.

"Tell me, what exactly happened? Where are my goods? Where did they go?" Fei asked.

Sun Liang sniffed and said, "It was taken away by Brother Ling's men."

Fei Ge's face darkened, and he subconsciously straightened his posture: "You're not referring to Ling Xiao as the Ling Ge you're talking about, are you?"

Sun Liang nodded: "Who else but him can be in charge of the black market in Qingxi Town?"

Fei Ge: "..." Sister Xing also told him to go to Ling Xiao if he had any trouble...

Fei Ge pondered for a moment, looked at Sun Liang, and asked, "Do they know that your batch of goods came from me?"

Sun Liang nodded again: "I told them, but they ignored me."

Fei Ge narrowed his eyes slightly, a cold glint flashing in them: "They...could they be doing this on purpose?"

Sun Liang knelt there, not daring to utter a sound. He didn't know, and dared not speak; if things got out of hand, he, a nobody, couldn't bear such a heavy responsibility.

Fei Ge suddenly stood up: "Come on, come with me." After saying that, he turned and walked outside.

"Where are you going?" Sun Liang asked, puzzled. He quickly got up. He had been kneeling for a while and his legs were a little numb. As soon as he stood up, his legs trembled and he almost knelt down again.

"Let's go to Lingjiazhuang," Fei Ge said.

Sun Liang's heart skipped a beat, his legs went weak, and he knelt down again. He looked up at Fei Ge's departing figure and asked in a trembling voice, "What were you doing in Ling Family Village?"

Fei Ge stopped and turned to look down at Sun Liang, saying, "What else could we do at Ling Family Village? Of course, we're going to find Ling Xiao."

Sun Liang: "..." Can I not go? He has an elderly mother at home, and he can't afford to offend them.

Fei Ge walked over and lifted Sun Liang up from the ground: "It's too late to back down now. Since they dared to accept your goods, they consider you one of their own and have their eyes on you. You either don't want to do this anymore, or you can't escape them. But if you don't do this anymore, are you going to support your old mother with your skinny body?"

Thinking of his elderly mother inside, a resolute expression appeared on Sun Liang's dark and thin face: "I'll go."

Fei Ge nodded approvingly: "That's more like it."

The two of them immediately hurried towards Lingjiazhuang.

Upon arriving at Lingjiazhuang, they asked someone for directions to Ling Xiao's house, only to find it empty; Ling Xiao wasn't home.

Fei knocked on the neighbor's door: "Hello, old comrade, I'm looking for Ling Xiao, but he doesn't seem to be home. Do you know where he went?"

"Ling Xiao has gone to find his son," the old neighbor said.

Fei Ge was taken aback: "He went to Lanyuan Town?"

The old neighbor rolled his eyes at him: "What Lanyuan Town? What's he doing in Lanyuan Town? I told you he went to see his son. You look so young, how come your hearing is worse than mine?"

Fei Ge: "...But his son..." Isn't he in Xiaogaozhuang, Lanyuan Town?

"His son went fishing alone on the Qingxi River and disappeared. He probably fell into the water and is gone." The old neighbor sighed helplessly and said, "Ling Xiao has been searching on the Qingxi River for a whole day and night since yesterday. The Qingxi River is so big, I don't know if he can be found."

Fei Ge: "??!!"

Fei Ge was stunned. Wait a minute, if Ling Xiao's son has already fallen into the Qingxi River and is gone, then what is that thing still at Sister Xing's house? A ghost?

Fei turned and left.

Sun Liang quickly chased after him: "Where are you going, Brother Fei?"

“Qingxi River,” Fei Ge said.

When Fei Ge and Sun Liang arrived at the Qingxi River, the sun was already setting. People who had been searching on the river all day were returning by boat one after another.

Fei Ge still hadn't seen Ling Xiao, so he randomly grabbed someone and asked, "Excuse me, do you know where Ling Xiao is?"

The man pointed to the only remaining small boat in the river: "It's still there. It's been a day and a night, and he hasn't had a proper rest. If he keeps searching like this, I think not only his son, but he himself will also get into trouble." After saying that, he shook his head helplessly and left.

Fei Ge glanced at the small boat floating in the river, then took Sun Liang and boarded one of the boats, rowing across.
