Lin Wan sat on Chen Dachuan's scrap metal cart, and was pulled by Chen Dachuan back to Dacheng Street.
Chen Dachuan didn't say a word the whole way.
Despite the blazing sun overhead, Lin Wan felt icy cold all over, her face deathly pale. Several times she considered jumping out of the car to escape, but she didn't have the guts.
When they arrived at their doorstep, they ran into Fu Hong, who was just about to leave.
"Sister Wan, Brother Chen," Fu Hong called out, asking curiously, "Where have you been? Did you just get back?"
Lin Wan forced a smile and casually replied, "I had to go out for a while."
Fu Hong then noticed Lin Wan's pale face and asked worriedly, "Sister Wan, why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell? Should we go to the hospital to see a doctor?"
Chen Dachuan smiled憨厚ly and said, "It's nothing. I've already been to the hospital. The doctor said there's nothing seriously wrong and I just need to rest."
"Really?" Fu Hong looked at Lin Wan with some doubt.
"Yes," Lin Wan nodded with a smile. "The doctor said it's nothing, you don't need to worry."
Seeing that Lin Wan had said so, Fu Hong had no doubts: "Then Sister Wan, you must get some rest." After saying that, she left.
As soon as Fu Hong left, the smile on Chen Dachuan's face vanished.
He yanked Lin Wan off the cart and said coldly, "Go inside and wait for me."
Lin Wan vaguely guessed what he wanted to do, her face paled, but she dared not disobey, so she could only tremble as she entered the house.
Chen Xiaoxia and Chen Xiaoqiu were delighted to see their mother return and went to greet her.
When Lin Wan saw them, she pushed them away forcefully with an annoyed look on her face: "Go back to your rooms and don't come out."
Chen Xiaoxia and Chen Xiaoqiu were used to their mother's cold expression from time to time, so they weren't afraid, but they still obediently went back to their rooms to stay.
Chen Dachuan carried the cart back to the yard, locked the door, and started taking off his clothes as he strode into the house. By the time he got inside, he was completely naked.
He coldly stared at Lin Wan, who was sitting trembling on the edge of the bed: "Didn't you tell that pretty boy that I'm no good? Today I'm going to show you whether I'm good or not..."
After saying that, he lunged at Lin Wan.
Lin Wan tried to refuse, saying, "Be careful with the child..."
Chen Dachuan said coldly, "Are you sure it's my child? You're telling me to be careful?"
Lin Wan felt a chill in her heart. She knew she probably couldn't keep the baby.
Next door, Fu Lan was sitting in her room mending clothes when she suddenly heard intimate sounds coming from the next room. Her hand holding the needle trembled involuntarily, and she accidentally pricked her finger.
She frowned, quickly pulled out the needle, picked up the basket for needles and thread, and got up to go out. As soon as she opened the door, she saw Grandma Fu standing outside.
Grandma Fu came over to ask Fu Lan to help her thread a needle. Before she could even knock, she saw Fu Lan open the door herself, looking quite upset. She asked, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
Fu Lan opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, a large group of people suddenly arrived from next door.
Grandma Fu's expression immediately changed. She quickly reached out and pulled Fu Lan out of the house, then closed the door to shut out the noise.
Grandma Fu's face fell, and it took her a while to recover. She looked at Fu Lan with disbelief and asked, "You can often hear things from next door from your room..."
Fu Lan nodded.
"Why didn't you say so sooner?" Grandma Fu asked.
Fu Lan: "..." How could she possibly say that?
Grandma Fu also realized that the little girl was shy. She frowned, pondered for a moment, and said, "Starting today, you will move out and sleep in the same room as your sister."
Fu Lan nodded, of course she agreed, and even breathed a sigh of relief, finally free.
Grandma Fu glanced at the closed door, hesitated for a moment, and asked Fu Lan, "Do they often do this in broad daylight..."
Fu Lan hesitated for a moment: "Not often... occasionally..."
Grandma Fu frowned and said, "I used to think that Xiao Wan next door was trustworthy, but now she seems a bit unreliable."
Grandma Fu pondered for a moment, then looked at Fu Lan and said, "Grandma will think about that blind date that Xiao Wan mentioned before."
Fu Lan's eyes lit up, and naturally she was not unhappy at all, nodding hurriedly: "Okay."
Unfortunately, her happiness didn't last long.
The fight next door finally ended. Lin Wan lay on the bed like a rag doll, her face ashen, her eyes lifeless, her body covered in bite marks, and the bedding beneath her soaked in blood.
Chen Dachuan stood by the bed as if nothing had happened, got dressed, and said, "I think your cousin invited you over today because she wanted to control you and prevent you from making a move on that girl next door. Since that's the case, to avoid any unforeseen complications, let's not delay any longer. Tomorrow, you will take her to Qingxi Town."
Lin Wan lay there motionless, it was unclear whether she had heard anything.
Chen Dachuan kicked him directly: "Did you hear that?"
Lin Wan then came to her senses and nodded, "I understand."
"I know, hurry up and go tell that old woman next door," Chen Dachuan urged.
Lin Wan reluctantly got out of bed, her legs still trembling. Looking at the bright red bloodstains on the bed, a shadow of malice flashed in her eyes: Xing Zhaozhao and Fu Lan killed her child and made her suffer so much. Neither of them will get away with it.
