Chapter 334 seems to be a tomb raider's tunnel.

After running for an unknown distance, General Black suddenly stopped, as if he had lost his target, and began to wander around in circles.

Gao Mingcheng looked around warily.

The surrounding area was a flat area with a gentle slope, covered with shrubs, and there was no place to hide anything.

However, since General Black has stopped here...

"Let's look around first," Gao Mingcheng said, looking at Xing Zhaozhao.

Xing Zhaozhao nodded and looked around.

Soon, she found an arrow mark on the trunk of a tree, deliberately drawn close to the roots. It was surrounded by very dense grass, and if she hadn't carefully searched through it, she might have missed it.

Xing Zhaozhao immediately called out to Gao Mingcheng with a look of surprise, "Mingcheng, come and see!"

Gao Mingcheng came over and took a look, then immediately followed the direction of the arrow mark.

Xing Zhaozhao followed closely behind.

However, nothing was found.

Xing Zhaozhao looked at Gao Mingcheng with a puzzled expression. Had they made a mistake? Did that mark not have any special meaning?

Gao Mingcheng frowned, equally bewildered.

Just then, General Black started digging and yelling at a clump of grass they had just passed by.

The two exchanged a glance and then immediately turned back.

Xing Zhaozhao parted the bushes and searched: "Is there something wrong here? It looks no different from the rest of the place."

Gao Mingcheng reached out and pressed on it, quickly realizing something was wrong. A glint of light flashed in his slightly narrowed eyes.

He tried to clear away the grass, mud and all, from the top.

Xing Zhaozhao found it strange and asked, "You don't think they buried something under here, do you? You can't dig it up with your bare hands, you'd have to dig to find..."

Before she could finish speaking, Xing Zhaozhao watched as Gao Mingcheng peeled back the thick layer of turf, revealing a dark hole underneath, and her voice abruptly stopped.

"What...is this?" Xing Zhaozhao exclaimed in surprise.

"It looks like a tomb robber's tunnel," Gao Mingcheng said, taking a flashlight out of his backpack, turning it on, and trying to shine it inside. It was pitch black, and he couldn't see the bottom.

"A robber's hole?" Xing Zhaozhao had never heard of it before.

“The tomb raiders dug a hole in the tomb,” Gao Mingcheng explained.

"Grave raiding?" Xing Zhaozhao understood now. "You mean down there..."

“There might be an ancient tomb,” Gao Mingcheng said.

Xing Zhaozhao's eyes lit up: "You mean, although we didn't find where Liu Feiyue hid his things, we found an ancient tomb?"

Gao Mingcheng nodded: "However, since it's already been dug up, we don't know how much of the stuff inside has been stolen."

"I want to go down and take a look," Xing Zhaozhao said, rubbing her hands together eagerly.

Gao Mingcheng glared at her: "No, we don't even know what the situation is down there yet. It would be too dangerous for you to go down rashly."

As he spoke, he took out a long rope from his backpack, tied one end to a tree not far away, and the other end around his waist: "I'll go down and take a look first."

Xing Zhaozhao tightened her grip on the rope: "Then be careful."

Gao Mingcheng nodded, took the flashlight, and slowly descended into the tunnel.

Xing Zhaozhao waited anxiously upstairs, asking every now and then, "How is it? Have we arrived yet?"

"Not yet," Gao Mingcheng said.

After asking three or four times, Xing Zhaozhao finally heard Gao Mingcheng reply, "It's over."

She quickly pressed herself against the cave entrance and asked, "What's going on inside?"

Gao Mingcheng remained silent.

Xing Zhaozhao grew anxious, worried that something had happened to Gao Mingcheng: "Mingcheng? Say something, are you alright?"

Gao Mingcheng then slowly replied, "It's alright, you can come down and take a look too."

Xing Zhaozhao tugged the rope again and clearly felt it loosen. She quickly pulled the rope back, tied it around her waist, and slowly descended into the tunnel.

Once on the ground, Xing Zhaozhao turned her head and saw that there were quite a few boxes piled up in the tomb chamber where she was now. She couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Are these burial goods from the tomb? The tomb robbers dug a hole, but they didn't take everything?"

Gao Mingcheng had already opened a box: "Come and take a look, you'll see."

Xing Zhaozhao went over and saw a box full of well-preserved ancient books from various dynasties. She picked up one of them, opened it, and saw a beautiful hand-painted bookplate inside, with the old principal's name, Qin Xu, clearly written on it.

Xing Zhaozhao's face darkened, and she immediately realized: "These are my godfather's things. Could Liu Feiyue have secretly taken them and hidden them here? He actually used this ancient tomb as a warehouse?!" He's so capable.

"I have to take all of my godparents' things back with me," Xing Zhaozhao said, and quickly found all four suitcases belonging to the old principal and Grandma Qin.

As for the rest...

Xing Zhaozhao struggled to look at Gao Mingcheng. She wanted it too.

Gao Mingcheng saw through Xing Zhaozhao's little schemes and shook his head helplessly, saying, "If you don't want to let Liu Feiyue go, you're not allowed to touch the other boxes. Those are all evidence of his crimes."

Xing Zhaozhao nodded with a regretful look: "Alright then, I won't touch it."

She shone her flashlight on the tomb passage leading to the other chambers, swallowed hard, moved closer to Gao Mingcheng, and whispered, "Where do you think that leads, Mingcheng?"

Gao Mingcheng looked grave and shook his head: "I don't know."

Xing Zhaozhao was eager to go over and take a look, but Gao Mingcheng grabbed her arm.

"No, we don't know what's going on inside, so don't wander around. Now that we've found our godparents' things, we should go back," Gao Mingcheng said seriously.

Xing Zhaozhao was reluctant to leave, turning back every few steps, but in the end she couldn't resist Gao Mingcheng's insistence and went out first.
