Chapter 612 Humanity and Divine Weapon

Chapter 612 Humanity and Divine Weapon

Fa Zheng, leaning on his silver-white spear, sat down opposite me.

"Thank you for providing the 'Dushuo Mountain' technical data last time. I have already given it to Yuchi, and he is currently working hard on his research. I believe that the gate to the afterlife will open soon." Fazheng spoke in a formal tone. "And the reason I invited you to meet with me this time is not for anything else, but to discuss the matter of Mingzhuo."

“I heard you’ve investigated the traces of Mingzhuo,” I said.

“Yes.” Fa Zheng pointed to the coffee table placed between us.

All the documents and files on the coffee table had disappeared, replaced by a large national map. Near the eastern part of the map was a large red circle, marking a second-tier coastal city.

“According to my investigation, Mingzhuo was last seen around here. It happened the day before yesterday, right after you returned. Mingzhuo seemed to have moved to this location immediately, and we don’t know what he was going to do. There’s been no sign of him moving since. If you want to defeat him, you’d better come here and take a look,” Fazheng said.

“Since you used the word ‘punishment’ and put on this show, that means…” I glanced at the silver-white spear in his hand.

“That’s right. Thanks to the clues you provided, I’ve found evidence of Mingzhuo’s collusion with the Gospel House in the past two days. It can be traced back to the middle of last year, when he had already secretly sided with the Gospel House.” Fa Zheng said coldly, “So this time, not only you, but I will also go with you on this expedition to make Mingzhuo give an ‘explanation’.”

"At the same time, considering that we are likely to clash with Mingzhuo in densely populated urban areas, and that he himself may use all the ordinary people within a radius of 100 kilometers as hostages, I took out the magic treasure 'Flower in the Mirror' from Luoshan's magic treasure warehouse, which can deploy a powerful barrier."

"You can think of it as a magical artifact that can simultaneously trap both sides in an alternate dimension. Although this alternate dimension cannot withstand our prolonged battles, as long as we keep the battle time under three minutes and finish it quickly, there shouldn't be too many problems."

The name "Flower in the Mirror" easily evokes the image of "Moon in the Water," which Ying Lingyun possessed during his lifetime, as if the two were paired. However, as far as I know, "Moon in the Water" is an isolated magical artifact, and its status is far inferior to that of "Flower in the Mirror," which can intervene in the battle of the Great Impermanence. The relationship between the two is clearly limited to the fact that they both coincidentally used the allusion of "flower in the mirror and moon in the water" in their names.

In Luoshan, this kind of situation is quite common. Many people like to cite classical allusions and use familiar stories when naming new things. After a while, it's inevitable that their names will overlap. There's no such thing as "first come, first served" in this kind of situation, so you can only let it be.

As I pondered this in my mind, I looked at the silver-white spear in Fazheng's hand and asked, "The magic weapon you're talking about isn't this spear you're holding, is it?"

“No. I currently keep the ‘Flower in the Mirror’ on my person. As for this spear, it was a weapon I took out to completely suppress the turbidity of life for a sufficiently short period of time,” Fa Zheng said. “This weapon has had many different names and forms in the history of Luoshan, and it automatically adapts to the user’s consciousness. In my hands, it has become the ‘spear form’ it is now, and I personally prefer to call it the ‘Divine Weapon of Humanity’.”

"Is this the legendary divine weapon of humanity?" I immediately searched my memory for the corresponding term.

Weapons and magical artifacts that can match the Great Impermanence are extremely rare. More recently, there are Mingzhuo and Huangquan, who fought me in the past, and further back, Xuanming and Yama. They all fought bare-handed, relying solely on their own magical power for attack and defense. This is because the Great Impermanence's power is simply too immense; materials capable of withstanding its output are completely unavailable through normal means.

Throughout Luoshan's incredibly long history, there have been instances of "Great Impermanence" individuals who "enhanced their combat power through weapons." Zhu Yi, the ancestor of the Zhu family, is one such example. His natural affinity for metal and the power of killing grants him the ability to elevate his weapons to the level of Great Impermanence. I, on the other hand, can utilize "slag" as a weapon by employing the power of fire and weapon forging. A few other Great Impermanence individuals have also acquired weapons and magical artifacts through their own methods.

However, like me and Zhu Yi, their weapons had a major flaw: they were essentially uncontrollable by anyone other than themselves.

Even the Yama Sword currently used by Zhu Shi has a significant limitation: only members of the Zhu family can use it. Otherwise, it would simply be a high-performance impermanence sword. All the successors from Zhu Yi to Zhu Shi never managed to comprehend the immense magical power contained within it. In fact, if I hadn't pointed it out to them after becoming the Great Impermanence, even Elder Zhu and Zhu Shi, the user, would have believed that the "Yama Sword possessing the power of the Great Impermanence" was merely a fabricated story created by past Zhu family descendants.

Even so, if it weren't for Zhu Shi's exceptional talent, coupled with the assistance of Ma Zao and Xiao Wan, the essence of forging the Yama Sword would not have been able to be fully realized.

My own slag weapon is the same. "Slag" is a mysterious material that Luo Shan cannot process through any normal means, yet it can freely change size and shape in response to my will. As long as I input my thoughts, "slag" can even be compressed from the size of a mountain to the size of a fist. Only a slag weapon with this super-density can withstand flames the size of a vast ocean and continue to compress them.

However, such an incredibly dense substance is extremely unnatural. Just as the flesh and blood of the Great Demon Xuanwu cannot exist apart from its body, the slag weapon in its super-density state cannot exist apart from me. If it were used to bear the power of other Great Impermanences, such as Xuanming's flames, my thoughts would be blocked, and the slag weapon would expand and explode on the spot.

The divine weapon of humanity in Fazheng's hands is also a weapon with extremely demanding requirements for its user.

In ancient times, forging was considered a mystical art. Some craftsmen would even throw themselves into the furnace in order to forge the ultimate weapon. In some different versions of the legends associated with the famous "Gan Jiang and Mo Xie," one extreme version tells of Mo Xie sacrificing herself to help her husband Gan Jiang forge a divine weapon.

Legend has it that long ago, a divine child who cared deeply for the common people felt powerless to save them. He decided to offer himself as a sacrifice, enduring hardships comparable to the eighty-one tribulations. Finally, through a great adventure, he forged a divine weapon with the purpose of saving all living beings.

This divine weapon can communicate with the will of humanity that exists in the unseen realm—that is, the will of Naraku. In modern terms, it is the collective unconscious of humanity.

In times of collective crisis for humanity, those who wield divine weapons of humanity will become the center of the vortex of human destiny. As long as they take actions that align with the principle of "saving humanity," the divine weapon will endow its wielder with all the qualities of a child of divinity, enabling them to "go with the flow" and receive a mysterious and powerful boost.

Even a mediocre person, who was originally worthless, can gain power comparable to the veteran Great Impermanence through this. And if the holder is the Great Impermanence himself, then he can reach an even higher level.

Based on this, the greater the crisis faced by the human race, the greater the bonus the holder can receive. Theoretically, if the human race in the living world is severely damaged to the point of being directly related to the question of whether it will lead to extinction, the holder may even be able to unleash the power beyond the third gate at this critical moment of life and death.

However, to wield a divine weapon of humanity, the wielder must possess the spirit of selflessly dedicating themselves to humanity, even unto death, to save humankind. Once this spirit is lost, the divine weapon will reject them. This is a magical artifact that only saints can use.

Such a spiritually impermanent being is rare even in the long history of Luoshan.

Since the Divine Weapon of Humanity has changed its shape in response to Fazheng's request, it means that the weapon has recognized Fazheng's right to use it.

Fa Zheng, who once secretly funded the Humanitarian Affairs Department, is now able to wield such a weapon...

“The Divine Weapon of Humanity cannot be used when humanity as a whole is not facing a crisis, but since Mingzhuo has sided with the Gospel Institute, which intends to exterminate human civilization, this weapon has found its purpose,” Fazheng said with emotion.

Upon hearing this, I quickly realized another problem—the Evangelical Fellowship members who have a deep understanding of Fazheng could probably foresee this kind of thing.

If you want to carry out the human slaughter plan while being an enemy of Fazheng, who possesses the divine weapon of humanity, you either need to kill Fazheng before you officially carry out the plan, or be prepared to be an enemy of Fazheng, who may have mastered the power of the third gate.

Logically, the Gospel House should only have chosen the former option, but I strongly suspect they were also prepared for the latter. Because in Luoshan, there really is a Great Impermanence who has pushed open the third door—Old Fist God.

Did the Evangelismos also try to win over the Old Fist God? What are the Old Fist God's views on the human extermination plan?

I tried to ask Fazheng, but he shook his head and said, "I don't know. Old Fist God's whereabouts are unpredictable. I even suspect that the Gospel House has not been able to make contact with Old Fist God smoothly either."

The Old Fist God is the only one besides Shan Liangyi who has opened the third gate, and he is the most powerful and unpredictable being in Luoshan. His attitude will directly affect the fate of this world.

The fatal flaw is that he is also a fickle and indifferent person who doesn't care about the life, death, or survival of the people.

While I desperately want to believe that Old Fist God wouldn't approve of such an ugly plan as the Human Extermination Project, ultimately, my finding it boring and inferior stems solely from my personal aesthetic sense. I cannot guarantee that everyone shares the same aesthetic and thought processes as me.

Some might view it as a highly efficient approach with a simple beauty. Abandoning all the accumulated knowledge of human civilization to the point of seeking the continuation of the race could also be seen as aligning with the old boxer's philosophy of "great abandonment," and perhaps even suits his temperament.
