Chapter 264 They'll Turn Things Around

However, Song Xibai still showed some concern for the Prince of Lu's residence.

"What about the Prince's residence?"

Granny Fangqi reported meticulously.

“There are two wet nurses in the Prince’s manor, and there’s another one over there. Princess Lu said that this is to make amends for her previous rudeness, and that the Crown Prince and the Princess are more important. She has already sent someone to the estate to find another wet nurse. This wet nurse’s surname is Qiao. She is gentle and has given birth to three children and raised them all. She is more experienced, so this old servant brought her to the palace.”

After saying that, she pulled on Nanny Qiao's arm.

"Nanny Qiao, why aren't you paying your respects to the Imperial Concubine?"

Nanny Qiao bowed respectfully.

"This servant greets Your Highness, the Noble Consort."

"Get up! No need for formalities, Dingxiang, let's see the person first."

Song Xibai pouted.

Dingxiang understood and stepped forward to pull Nanny Qiao down to sit. She carefully took her pulse and examined her body. Throughout the entire process, Nanny Qiao showed no embarrassment and allowed Dingxiang to examine her openly and honestly.

"He has a calm and steady temperament..." Song Xibai thought to himself.

Of course, she couldn't trust Nanny Qiao so quickly, but Zhao Yan in her arms was crying so hard he was almost silent. Song Xibai was anxious, confused, and flustered. Even though the other party was Princess Lu's person, she had no choice but to give it a try.

"No problem, she's in perfect health."

Dingxiang finally finished her examination.

The wet nurse, Qiao, approached Song Xibai and asked, "Your Highness, may I try?"

Song Xibai hesitated before handing the child over.

When Zhao Yan was held by Nanny Qiao, he did not reject her as he had with the other nannies. He immediately turned his head and snuggled into Nanny Qiao's arms.

Unperturbed, Nanny Qiao unbuttoned her clothes and, without bothering anyone else, began feeding the baby directly.

Zhao Yan swallowed the milk in large gulps, and you could even hear the gurgling sound.

Song Xibai let out a breath.

As long as Zhao Yan is willing to accept it, things will be much better. Zhao Jing has never been a picky eater, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Zhao Yan has a small appetite and gets full quickly after eating for a while.

Song Xibai picked him up and gently patted him to help him burp.

Nanny Qiao picked up Zhaojing again, but switched sides to feed her.

Surprisingly, Zhao Jing kept her mouth tightly shut and refused to open it.

Song Xibai was shocked.

"What's wrong with this child? He's never been a picky eater before!"

Of the four women, Wen Niang and Zhao Jing would drink any of their breast milk, while Zhao Yan was more picky and would only drink Wen Niang's milk, though she would sometimes reluctantly accept Jin's milk.

Now, it's turned out the other way around?

Song Xibai looked suspiciously at the child in her arms, then at the child in Nanny Qiao's arms, almost thinking she had mistaken the child for someone else.

Nanny Qiao was also at a loss, and tried another approach, but Zhao Jing still refused to eat.

"Your Majesty, this..."

Nanny Qiao looked up at Song Xibai in a flustered manner.

Song Xibai thought for a moment and guessed, "It might be that your scent is different and she's not used to it. How about this? Squeeze the milk into a bowl and try again."

Dingxiang reacted quickly and immediately ran out to fetch a bowl and a spoon.

The wet nurse apologized, turned to the side, and squeezed the milk into the bowl.

Only a shallow half bowl.

Then, Song Xibai held Zhaojing in her arms, and Dingxiang fed her with a spoon.

"Finally, we ate."

Everyone inside the room breathed a sigh of relief.

I wasn't used to being fed with a spoon, and in the end, I only managed to get half of the half bowl of milk into my mouth.

Zhaojing wasn't full and grumbled to express her dissatisfaction, but nestled comfortably in her mother's arms, she stopped crying.

Song Xibai wiped the milk stains from Dingxiang's lips with a handkerchief and said.

"After the two children are asleep, give me a couple of acupuncture needles to get rid of the alcohol smell, and I'll feed Zhaojing tonight."

Dingxiang nodded.

Actually, Song Xibai didn't drink much yesterday. The wine at the banquet was low in alcohol, and after sleeping all night, the effects of the alcohol had mostly worn off.

But she was still not entirely at ease.

She gently placed Zhaojing on the bed, next to Zhaoyan.

The two children were no longer hungry and started waving their arms and legs around.

Song Xibai dared not let them out of her sight, so she lay down beside them and let Dingxiang give her acupuncture.

Nanny Qiao was taken away by Granny Fangqi.

Once the person stays, we need to arrange accommodation, clothing, and daily necessities for her, and also take her to meet other people.

After Dingxiang removed the last needle, Song Xibai turned to the side and watched the two children struggling to turn over. Her heart melted instantly.

“I’ve never been this worried or scared before, whether it was when I was attacked in the village or when I was giving birth to them.”

Song Xibai said in a low voice.

"I still need to let them move back to my place so I can keep an eye on them all the time."

Dingxiang lay on the headboard, watching the two little ones.

"Don't worry, I'm here."

Song Xibai pursed her lips, smiled, and looked much more relaxed.

"When they're a little older, we'll prepare a formal ceremony and have them recognize you as their godmother."

Dingxiang laughed twice.

"Then I'm getting a great deal, I'll get two kids for free."

Song Xibai smiled, her smile becoming even more relaxed.

She held Zhaojing's small hand and pointed towards the lilac.

"Zhaojing, do you see this? This is my godmother, god-mother!"

Dingxiang chuckled: "She's only a tiny little thing, she wouldn't recognize her even if you told her!"

"Who said that? Our Zhaojing is very clever."

Song Xibai raised an eyebrow, then grabbed Zhao Yan's hand and helped him recognize people.

Zhao Yan was playing with bubbles, not giving his mother any face at all.

Song Xibai reached out with both hands to tease him.

Meanwhile, Zhao Jing turned his head toward Ding Xiang, his clear black and white eyes looking at her, and tried to twist his body toward her.

She turned her upper body, but couldn't move her lower body.

Just then, she suddenly straightened and bent her right leg, then pushed off with the ball of her foot, using that force to turn her body around.

Snap!

Zhao Jing patted the bed with both hands, extremely excited.

Song Xibai was utterly stunned.

How come my daughter can roll over in the blink of an eye?

She knows how to leverage resources!

Although it may be instinct.

Dingxiang also clicked her tongue in amazement: "Zhaojing is really too smart."

Since both of their attention was on Zhao Jing, Zhao Yan inside was unhappy and turned his head away as well.

Seeing his sister roll over, he panicked and forgot about playing with his drool bubbles. He waved his hands, trying to roll over too.

But he was physically weak and lacked strength, and after trying for a long time, he couldn't turn over and started crying sadly.

Just as Song Xibai was about to pick him up to comfort him, she suddenly saw Zhao Jing roll over and fall back down.

Then, she strained again and flipped it over once more, using the same method as before.

After turning over, she turned her head towards Zhao Yan and patted the bed board with her small hand.

Dingxiang said in surprise.

"Could she be teaching Zhao Yan how to turn over in bed? Is this a baby? Or is she some kind of deity reincarnated?"

That's incredibly clever!
