Chapter 57 My Heart Loves You

Seeing Song Xibai looking over, the Crown Prince coughed lightly.

"I am traveling incognito, so I need to disguise myself a little to avoid being recognized."

Song Xibai stared at his fake beard and wanted to say that the Crown Prince's disguise skills were too poor, and there was hardly any difference between him and the real prince.

However, he swallowed the words back and said "not bad" against his will.

After that, the two stopped talking and just sat there quietly.

The car was quiet inside, but the outside was getting more and more lively.

Laughter and cheerful voices drifted in through the gaps in the car door, prompting Song Xibai to open it a crack.

"Have we arrived in the south of the city?"

The familiar streets made Song Xibai feel disoriented for a moment.

"I was planning to surprise you when I got there, but I didn't expect to be discovered."

The crown prince sighed.

Song Xibai turned around abruptly: "Is Your Highness taking me to the Ding family?"

The crown prince smiled for a moment: "Yes and no."

Song Xibai's heart was in his throat. Seeing the Crown Prince shaking his head and swaying his head, he felt that the Crown Prince was very annoying.

"Your Highness usually seems quite mature; I never expected you to have this side to you."

Song Xibai said quietly.

The crown prince paused for a moment.

old?

The hand that was about to stroke his beard froze in the distance.

The atmosphere suddenly turned cold.

Just then, Wei Hong's voice came from outside.

"Master, we've arrived."

The carriage stopped as soon as he finished speaking.

The Crown Prince regained his composure, got out of the carriage, and turned to help Song Xibai.

Song Xibai pushed open the car door and saw the familiar alley.

She stood there, completely stunned.

This is her former home!

The old wooden door, the peeling brass ring, and the missing piece on the threshold—it was where she would always twist her ankle when she sneaked out as a child.

And in the corner next to the wall, there used to be several clumps of zephyranthes, but now only withered grass remains.

"What's going on? Our house... this house should be sold off, right?"

When Song Siyuan was sentenced to have his property confiscated and be exiled, all his property was taken away, including this house.

Song Xibai wanted to come back to visit several times, but he was worried about being discovered and reported, so he could only keep enduring it.

“This is not difficult. This house has been sold to merchants from other places over time, and I had someone buy it back.”

The crown prince took her hand, pushed open the back door, and led her inside.

"It hasn't been renovated or tidied up yet, so it's a bit messy. We can only ask someone to clean out the front few rooms."

Song Xibai's eyes were red.

"Thank you, Your Highness."

"Thank me later, let's go take a look ahead first."

As they spoke, the two walked through the somewhat messy backyard and arrived at the slightly tidier front yard.

The front yard was much larger than the back yard. The left and right wing rooms were where Song Xibai's two older brothers and their wives lived, the main house had a side room for her father, and the west side was the study.

More than a year has passed, and the layout of the house hasn't changed much, except that the yard is piled with a lot of messy clutter.

Song Xibai didn't notice any of this.

It was because a group of people were standing under the eaves of the main house, greeting her.

"Dr. Song!"

"Sister Xixi!"

"Girl, you're back!"

It was actually the Ding family!

Song Xibai blinked, and finally, tears welled up and streamed down her face.

"Old Man Ding!"

The old man in the very center wearing a cloth scarf is Dingxiang's grandfather, Dr. Ding.

When Dr. Ding saw Song Xibai, he immediately burst into laughter.

"Girl, it seems you've been doing well lately!"

Song Xibai was very excited.

"How is everyone at home? Has anyone come to the clinic to cause trouble again? Have you encountered any difficult or unusual cases recently?"

She and Dr. Ding were close friends despite their age difference; they often discussed medical matters and were both teacher and friend to each other.

Doctor Ding didn't have time to reply to her; instead, he bowed to the Crown Prince standing to the side.

The Crown Prince waved his hand: "No need for formalities. Just consider me... cough cough, I'm just an ordinary young master."

Dr. Ding immediately understood, his gaze darting back and forth between the two of them, and he chuckled.

"Then please come inside, young master! My humble abode is simple and unadorned, I hope you will not find it offensive."

Song Xibai wiped away her tears with the back of her hand and went into the main room first.

In the main room, there was a large round table where Dr. Ding's daughter-in-law, who was also Dingxiang's mother, was preparing the meal.

"Auntie, thank you for your trouble."

Song Xibai walked over and took Aunt Ding's hand.

“You silly child, don’t be so polite! In my heart, you and Dingxiang are the same. Even though your family isn’t here for the New Year, you’re still celebrating with us just like last year.”

Aunt Ding was very hospitable and led Song Xibai to the west side room, where Dingxiang and her sisters-in-law were shelling peanuts!

"Oh, Xixi, you've finally arrived! Your Highness was so slow, I thought I'd have to wait until tomorrow!"

Upon seeing Song Xibai, Dingxiang hurriedly dropped the peanut shells and ran towards her.

Song Xibai opened her eyes slightly.

"You knew all along?"

Dingxiang chuckled: "This was originally my idea. Okay, enough talk, come with me!"

Before Song Xibai could ask any further questions, Dingxiang pulled him to the door of the side room.

"Go in and take a look!"

Song Xibai pushed open the door with a suspicious look on her face.

A refreshing fragrance, carrying a warm and humid atmosphere, wafts towards you.

She blinked, then blinked again.

"this……"

The entire room was filled with flowers!

The buds were about to bloom, and the flowers were in full bloom, red, white, yellow, and orange, a riot of colors, as if they wanted to show Song Xibai the whole spring.
