Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Ye Feng brought a medical team and a fire brigade. Four aircraft, with their lights flashing, were parked neatly on the road. More than ten people got off and worked in an orderly manner to carry the wounded and handle the scene.

Once the rescue team was in place, Ye Feng, carrying flowers, walked gracefully towards them with his two henchmen and three impeccably dressed men in suits from the other side of the spotless road.

Xin Ran looked up and saw the three of them descending with the air of saviors. "Wow, Teacher Xia, look at your god! You made a dashing appearance in the moment of crisis, and the flower confession was so romantic. If I were a girl, I would definitely marry him!"

The two were busy helping the medical team move the wounded when they heard Xin Ran's voice. Bai Chixia also looked up. Ye Feng, dressed in a white suit, shone in the dark night. The blood-red roses in his arms looked like fresh, beating hearts. When he saw Chixia looking at him, he raised a hand and greeted her coolly.

Chi Xia: "..."

So this is what it feels like to feel utterly ashamed.

Chi Xia expressionlessly looked away and continued carrying the stretcher to put the wounded onto the aircraft.

Just as Ye Feng approached and was about to utter his "earth-shattering words," Chi Xia preemptively said, "Ye Feng, don't cause trouble."

Cheng Mo watched Chi Xia's stiff departing figure and chuckled, "Old Ye, your disgusting methods are too ruthless. I bet Teacher Braid will feel like throwing up whenever he sees roses from now on."

Feng Xiao looked bewildered. "Brother Feng, are you serious? Giving roses to your own homeroom teacher? That's so exciting!"

Ye Feng smiled and said, "I enjoy watching the teacher's micro-expressions. This is just the beginning. Don't you guys find it interesting?"

Feng Xiao: "..."

Watching the medical staff put oxygen masks on the wounded and attach medical equipment to monitor their vital signs, Xin Ran and Chi Xia got off the aircraft and watched the firefighters put several bodies into evidence collection bags and move them into another aircraft.

Xin Ran nudged Chi Xia lightly with her shoulder, gesturing for her to look at the three black, blue, and white stripes. "Aren't you touched?"

Chi Xia rolled her eyes at him, "Are you just born to enjoy watching the drama unfold?"

Xin Ran nodded, "Life is boring. It's no fun if you don't gossip or chat with crickets. You might as well watch."

Seeing Xun Jiang approaching aggressively, Chi Xia said, "You guys go back to the car first, I'll be there soon."

Xun Jiang just happened to brush past Chi Xia as he came over. Xun Jiang angrily pointed at Ye Feng, who was fawning over him, and said, "What is that young student doing? Doesn't he know how to respect his teacher? He's completely lawless. I'm going to go and teach him a lesson!"

"You've been dealing with the students from the Demon Fishing Academy for a while now. What aren't they capable of?" Xin Ran found Xun Jiang's aggressive demeanor amusing and cooperatively pulled on his arm. "Don't worry, your teacher Xia can handle it."

Xun Jiang was still worried. Teacher Xia was so innocent; she would be bullied by those devilish students. "I'll go help her and act as her shill, firmly refusing those troublesome brats!"

Xin Ran shook his head, signaling Xun Jiang to stay where he was.

After settling his teammate in and confirming the details with the fire department, the police officer came over to greet the two men. "Thank you so much for tonight. Please also thank those classmates for me. I'll take my teammate to the hospital first. We'll need your cooperation with the police station later."

Xin Ran grasped the outstretched hand. "You're too kind. We'll cooperate well from now on, and we hope you can catch the bad guys as soon as possible."

Watching the three aircraft depart, Xin Ran patted Xun Jiang on the shoulder, "You go back to the car first, I need to pee and I'll be right back."

Xun Jiang: "It's so dark, do you want to come with me?"

Xin Ran laughed, "Brother Xun Jiang, we're not kids anymore, don't joke like that."

"Tch! Who wants to see you pee?" Xun Jiang laughed and cursed as he walked towards the car.

This joke reminded Xin Ran of her childhood, when their two families were separated by a simple fence. They were the kind of people who, if they couldn't sleep at night, would climb over the fence to wake each other up to pee.

But after his parents died mysteriously, Xin Ran was kicked out of the house by debt collectors. Fortunately, the nearby orphanage opened its doors to him, and Xun Jiang would visit him every week, bringing him lots of toys and snacks.

Thinking of this, Xin Ran's usually upturned lips disappeared. He glanced at Chi Xia's side to make sure no one was looking this way, and quickly walked towards the river.

“Let’s talk alone,” Chi Xia said to Ye Feng, getting straight to the point.

Ye Feng handed her the roses, but Chi Xia crossed her arms and turned to walk away. Ye Feng had no choice but to hand the flowers to Cheng Mo to hold first, and then followed her.

"Teacher, can you be my first teacher..."

Chi Xia: "Enough with the nonsense. I agree to your first proposal tonight. We'll cooperate to investigate the Demon Fishing Academy. As a reward for our cooperation, I have one condition: I need some access to the Yu family right now. Please help me select a few experts in mechanical organs and assign a few tracking masters."

Ye Feng, hands in his pockets, glanced at the cleaned-up scene and raised an eyebrow slightly. "The change was quick. Could it be related to tonight's car accident?"

Chi Xia didn't beat around the bush and directly admitted, "Yes."

Ye Feng took a step closer, raised his chin, and pointed at the scene. "Were they here for you? Do you want me to help you investigate?"

Chi Xia took a step back. "No need. I just saw something that interested me."

Ye Feng smiled wickedly, "If even you, teacher, find this interesting, I'm curious too. How about we investigate together?"

Chi Xia looked at him coldly, "I borrowed people from you. Now that I'm done, ask me yourself."

"Does the teacher mean she doesn't want to have any other relationship with me?"

"Obviously."

"Get on the aircraft, I'll take you there."

"Need not."

After being repeatedly rejected, Ye Feng nodded helplessly, "Okay, but I've already brought the flowers. Wouldn't it make me lose face if you didn't take them?"

When Chi Xia got into the car with the bouquet of flowers, Xun Jiang gritted his teeth in anger, "You really do like younger women!"

Chi Xia handed the flower to Xun Jiang, saying, "This is for you."

Xun Jiang took the car and sniffed it; it smelled quite good, and he fell completely silent. With less than five hours until dawn before work, the car drove to the Moon Bay villa area.

That night, Chi Xia couldn't sleep.

Eighty percent of the hidden dragons and crouching tigers in the New Territories are in New Town. In less than half a year, the battle between dragons and tigers in New Town has turned the world upside down.

The boss of the largest assassin organization in the New Territories is dead, the organization has disbanded, the sisters have disappeared without a trace and are suspected to be dead, and their home has been ransacked.

Upon entering the Demon Fishing Academy, the students didn't seem like students, and the teachers didn't seem like teachers; everything exuded an eeriness. Yet, even so, assassins who lived incognito usually faced no risk of exposure unless they were caught on the spot.

If it weren't for Lin Mu, who miraculously returned from the dead tonight, Chi Xia would have thought she had hidden herself well and could at least stay at the Demon Fishing Academy for a while. Who would have thought that she would be targeted by a student who was hiding his true abilities, and that he would use the "bounty" she had once earned to open a big attack right in her face!

Her keen intuition told her that the people who killed her boss and her sisters, as well as those who provoked her, were the same group. A professional female assassin ranked third on the assassin's list, she had climbed to the top of the industry, treading on mountains of corpses and seas of blood. It was impossible for an assassin to reach this position without bloodthirstiness. Chi Xia was so angry her teeth ached.

Since we're here, let's settle both old and new scores together.

"court death!"
