Chapter 24

Chapter 24

"You're really good at handling Director Ma's words!"

"I'm with you every day, so I'm influenced by what I see and hear."

"Teacher Xia?" Xin Ran suddenly stopped. Chi Xia took a couple of steps and, realizing she wasn't following, stopped and turned around. Xin Ran walked closer, tilting her head and smiling. "I couldn't sleep last night, so I watched that Rubik's Cube video. Guess what?"

That Rubik's Cube was obviously left behind by that group on purpose. The explosion was to escape. Why was the timing of the explosion, which was controlled by them when they were already there and a police officer was safe and conscious?

Top assassins never believe in coincidences.

When Xin Ran suddenly mentioned the mirrorless camera and Rubik's Cube at this moment, Chi Xia almost instantly confirmed her previous thoughts: this person was very cunning and not the lively, cheerful, resilient, and dedicated person he seemed to be. It was even questionable whether he was a teacher by profession.

The Magic Fishing Academy is like a giant dye vat; it's not surprising that all sorts of people can mix in there. But why?

Why did the seemingly unassuming teacher Xin Ran, who was actually trying to hide her abilities from me from the very beginning, even reveal herself at every step?

Could he be an assassin as well?

Chi Xia pushed up her glasses, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Oh? I'd like to hear more."

Xin Ran leaned closer, and Chi Xia thought he was about to say something shocking, but Xin Ran laughed instead, "Your classmate Ye is watching us, and I think he looks really bad."

Chi Xia looked up and saw several boys standing in the corridor, some of them chatting and laughing. Only Ye Feng looked down quietly at the two people under the strange sycamore tree on the first floor, his face cold and silent.

Cheng Mo, who was standing next to him, noticed his unusual behavior and asked him something. Judging from Ye Feng's lip movements, Chi Xia replied with the two words "It's nothing".

Ye Feng saw Chi Xia looking up, casually waved to her, and then turned and went into the classroom.

Cheng Mocan smiled and waved, "Good morning, Teacher with braids."

The students in Class 3 and Class 4 rarely had time to hang out in the corridor. They were full of mischief, thinking about how to prank the teachers who were going to class. There was never a time like this when someone was standing in the corridor sunbathing.

Chi Xia and Xin Ran walked up the stairs. Xin Ran smiled and said, "That student's eyes were practically glued to you. So sweet, like the taste of first love."

Chi Xia: "Were you testing him just now?"

Xin Ran smiled frankly, "Yes, after all, you're the person my neighbor's brother has his eye on, so I have to keep an eye on you for him."

As she stepped onto the last step, Chi Xia turned to look at Xin Ran. "We'll talk about our business when we get back."

Seeing Chi Xia's cold gaze, Xin Ran exaggeratedly covered her mouth and said, "If the fortune teller hadn't said I could live to be two hundred years old, I would have almost thought you were going to kill me when you got back."

"Is two hundred years a long time in this era?" Chi Xia sneered, turning her back on him.

As soon as she stepped into the classroom, Chi Xia stepped back. Only after seeing the nameplate at the door clearly indicating Class 3 did she walk back in.

"Excuse me, I thought I had gone to the wrong place."

"Puff! Hahahaha!"

Cheng Mo: "Teacher with braids can't imagine what it's like when we listen attentively in class?"

Chi Xia smiled, "Thinking about it is not as good as seeing it with your own eyes. It's not too late to start working hard in your second year of high school."

Today, the classroom was bright and airy. The desks, chairs, and teaching equipment were neatly arranged. The spotless blackboard resembled an ancient inkstone. On the teacher's desk were the leave slips from the five students. Chi Xia immediately noticed that the first one was Ye Feng's. Upon closer inspection, she found that all of them had their parents' signatures attached.

It turns out that to deal with a class, all you need to do is deal with the ringleader. Chi Xia nodded slightly to Ye Feng in greeting.

Ye Feng returned a flying kiss, and Chi Xia naturally looked away to begin her lecture.

This was a class where Chi Xia only needed to focus on lecturing. Assassins can disguise themselves as anyone to complete their missions, so a middle school teacher is no problem for them. Chi Xia has always had a strong learning ability, and she taught the content very well. It was vivid and engaging, not at all rote learning, and the students could easily get into it.

The gap between the top three on the assassin list and those below them is obvious. Her score is several hundred million ahead of the fourth-ranked person and only a few million ahead of the second-ranked person, which is just a matter of single-digit orders.

So, the assassin ranking might sound like it's based on money, which is true, but it's easy to understand. Assassins are similar to salespeople; whoever is more capable and more favored by customers will rise to the top.

Real achievements, earned through actual combat, will eventually translate into real money; that will be their most impressive record.

After finishing her last sentence, Chi Xia said, "So, what each person wants to become is the result of their own choices. All actions serve your wishes. Talent doesn't explain everything. Some people can achieve great success without talent."

"bite!"

Chi Xia: "get out of class dismissed."

Li Yao: "Stand up."

Chi Xia looked at all the students who had stood up. The sunlight outside the window illuminated their snow-white school uniforms. Standing in the bright light and shadow, they looked like tall and straight little poplars. Their smiles were bright and lively. Suddenly, she felt a heavy sense of unreality.

Just a few months ago, she was only a cold-blooded, ruthless third-ranked bounty hunter, but now she was standing on a stage, talking eloquently to a group of young men and women. This sense of dislocation and disparity left her stunned for a moment.

Ye Feng, hands in his pockets, smiled casually, "Teacher, are you moved?"

Chi Xia snapped out of her daze, looking at these vibrant young individuals. Her feet felt heavy, and she couldn't move an inch for a long time. Her mouth was also stiff, and she couldn't utter a word for a while. She lowered her head to recover, and when she raised her head again, her smile was arrogant. "I wouldn't say I'm moved, I'm just a little happy. Thank you."

As soon as Chi Xia left the classroom, before she could even look towards Class 4, a warm and strong hand pulled her into the restroom on the other side of the corridor.

"Bang!" The door was kicked shut.

Chi Xia shook off that hand and looked coldly at Ye Feng, who was kicking the door. "I don't like men's restrooms."

Ye Feng smiled and said, "Then next time, shall we have our tryst in the women's restroom?"

Chi Xia shook off the hand that he had pulled red. It was difficult for someone whose muscle memory was to be vigilant and fight back to adapt to this kind of non-resistance. When Chi Xia turned around to wash her hands, she kept adjusting her breathing.

Ye Feng locked the door and walked over. "You have a good relationship with the teacher of Class 4?"

The water flowed smoothly as Chi Xia said calmly, "He is my landlord."

"I think it's more than that." Ye Feng moved closer, wanting to put his arm around her, but Chi Xia turned around and raised her fist. "Want to fight?"

Ye Feng smiled and surrendered, retreating. "Teacher, I can't beat you. But why are you always so cold? I saw you were so touched by even the smallest change in your students just now."

Chi Xia: "Are the people I asked for in place?"

Ye Feng reached into his school uniform pocket, pulled out a diamond-encrusted bracelet, and handed it to Chi Xia. "The contact person is inside. They're available whenever you call."

Chi Xia stared blankly at the luxurious bracelet, which was studded with diamonds larger than pigeon eggs and glittering with colorful diamonds. Suddenly, she laughed and leaned against the sink to relax. "Ye, my colleague's blind date is sending her big gold bracelets every day."

"so?"

Chi Xia's smile faded as she took the bracelet and weighed it in her hand. "How much does this thing cost?"

Ye Feng was very proud, "Over 100 million."

Chi Xia tossed the item back to the other person, saying, "Let's settle for cash. The bracelet's only function is communication; I'm not comfortable with anything fancy."

Ye Feng wasn't very surprised. He took out another ordinary black bracelet from the other side of his school uniform pocket. "I knew you would refuse, but here you are. To be frank, I installed a tracking device on it. If you're in trouble recently, it's better to carry it with you. If anything happens, I'll come to your rescue immediately."

Chi Xia took it, and then grabbed his collar, looking directly into Ye Feng's eyes. Their breaths mingled, a breach of the safe distance. Ye Feng's light-colored eyes instantly surged with emotion, as if he was looking forward to something happening.

Chi Xia understood that look in his eyes. She released his collar and, under the guise of smoothing his collar, felt his thunderous heartbeat. Before Ye Feng could react, she picked up the textbook placed next to the sink and turned to leave.

Ye Feng was a little confused and stood there staring at her without moving.

Chi Xia unlocked the door with one hand, turned her head to look at Ye Feng, whose ears were red, and said, "You're so easily teased, why are you still playing the role of an ambiguous teacher-student relationship? Change it up, I think a dedicated homeroom teacher or a problem genius suits you better."

"bump!"

The door opened and then closed again.
