Chapter 542: The Shura Field

Wu Chong stared wide-eyed in surprise, looking at Gu Yin and then at Xiao Sheng!
Long Yu held his breath in tension, staring intently at Chu Yan!
Gu Yin was taken aback and looked at Xiao Sheng.
Xiao Sheng didn't look at Chu Yan, nor did he feel embarrassed. He smiled gently and said, "Ladies first. Miss Zhou can try my cooking. It's not bad."
Gu Yin smiled and took the skewers, saying, "In our family, we always let the youngest person eat first!" She then handed the skewers to Gu Le.
Gu Le took it, took a bite, nodded, and gave Xiao Sheng a thumbs up: "Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Perfectly seasoned! Very good and delicious! Thank you, big brother!"

Gu Yin quickly stood up to reassure everyone: "These are chickens we raise at home. I'm sorry they scared you. They meant no harm; they probably came out because they smelled the aroma!"

The two chickens walked over and sat down next to Gu Yin and Gu Le, flapped their wings at the two of them, and chirped, their voices carrying a strange sense of grievance.
Long Yu was stunned: "Your pet is quite... quite impressive!"
Wu Chong walked curiously to the two chickens and exclaimed, "Did they eat hormones?! Otherwise, how could they be so big!"
Others gathered around as well.
Chu Yan divided the lobster in his hand into two portions and fed them to the two chickens, explaining, "It's not that I don't want to take you out, but we're having dinner at a hotel tonight, so I can't take you. These are freshly grilled, so please eat them."

Gu Yin paused in her hand as she flipped the chicken wings: "I don't have that much power. You're wrong."
Looking at her wary expression and then at Chu Yan's obvious knowing look, Xiao Sheng sighed, "I happened to be in my father's office when his subordinates reported this to him. I've heard about it."
"So that's how it is," Gu Yin smiled but didn't say anything.
Xiao Sheng looked at the charcoal fire and smiled, "You're very capable, I admire you."
Gu Yin handed the chicken wings in her hand to Chu Yan: "Brush on the sauce."
Then he looked at Xiaosheng and said, "It's just a coincidence."
Xiao Sheng smiled and said nothing more.
Halfway through the meal, Long Yu looked at Chu Yan and said, "Come with me to the restroom." This house was quite large, and it would be inconvenient for him to walk around alone. It wouldn't be good if he went to the wrong place.
Chu Yan nodded, got up, and left with his men.
Only Gu Yin, Gu Le, and Xiao Sheng remained by the oven.
Xiao Sheng looked at Gu Le and smiled, "I'd like an iced drink, could you go get it for me?"
Gu Le looked at Gu Yin, who nodded. Gu Le then got up and went to the kitchen.
