Chapter 258 Too Short

Chapter 258 Too Short

Outside the door, Chu Yan pointed to the garden next door: "Would you like to go and see the garden, or would you like to look around?"

Zhou Tengfei glanced at the gloomy weather, pulled his coat tighter, and laughed, "Let's go to the garden instead. It's too cold outside, and I'm afraid if we go too far, my grandparents won't be able to find us."

Chu Yan didn't care and led the two into the garden.

The garden has always been managed by Old Mrs. Chu; it has a greenhouse, thermometers, and other professional equipment.

So even in the capital city where snow was expected, the Chu family's garden was still a vibrant scene of colorful flowers in full bloom.

After entering the garden, Chu Yan pointed to the seats inside and said, "Feel free to do as you please, but you can't pick the flowers." After saying that, he took a watering can and watered some small potted plants.

The Zhou siblings looked around, found it uninteresting, and sat down.

Watching Chu Yan watering the flowers, Zhou Tengfei smiled and said, "If you have the chance, Young Master Chu can go to Hong Kong. The temperature there is warmer, and many flowers can be enjoyed outdoors."

Chu Yan put down the watering can, washed his hands, sat down opposite them, poured a cup of tea, and looked at Zhou Tengfei: "From what you've said, it seems like things are going very well over there. So, why are you in Beijing?"

Zhou Tengfei poured himself a cup of tea: "I was originally from Beijing, and I was curious about this place, so I thought I'd come and take a look. After that, I fell in love with this place."

Chu Yan raised his eyebrows and nodded: "I see. I thought you made a mistake over there and were kicked out of your territory by the old man. After all, it's common knowledge that some young people in the industry who make mistakes are kicked out of their own territory."

Chu Yan stared at the two of them, and saw that they looked embarrassed.

Although they did not do anything wrong, their departure from the port city was indeed out of necessity.

"That's not true, otherwise why would my grandparents come here?"

Chu Yan nodded, then, as if thinking of something, suggested, "I study in Zhejiang City. The environment there is quite nice, there's lots of delicious food, and it's a historical city. My grandparents will be going there for a visit in a couple of days. It's not easy for Grandpa Zhou and Grandma Zhou to come all this way, so how about we let them come along with my grandparents? What do you think?"

"No!" Zhou Feifei blurted out as soon as she heard Jiang Shi's name.

Chu Yan stared at Zhou Feifei, puzzled: "It's just a few days of fun, why are you reacting so strongly?!"

Zhou Tengfei immediately kicked Zhou Feifei under the table to stop her from speaking. He looked at Chu Yan and smiled gently, "Grandpa and Grandma are very busy. They made a lot of adjustments before coming here and only had three days of free time. Going to Jiang City is out of the question. They really don't have time. The family group can't do without Grandpa, and Grandma is going abroad in a few days. They really don't have time. Sigh, it's all because we're still young and can't share the burden with Grandpa and Grandma. We're really ashamed!"

Chu Yan nodded knowingly: "I see. Then I really don't have time."

The two breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that he might say something uncontrollable again, and Zhou Feifei immediately changed the subject.

She looked at Chu Yan and frowned, "The Xinheng Building over at the Science Park, the 19th floor, is that Yingle Media you own?"

Chu Yan didn't look at her, leisurely making tea: "You already know, why are you asking me?"

Zhou Feifei placed her hands on the table, leaned close to Chu Yan, and announced loudly, "I want to sign with your company!"

Chu Yan leaned back in his chair and said in a deep voice, "This temple is too small to accommodate a great Buddha like you."

"Just tell me, are you going to sign or not!"

"I won't sign."

Zhou Feifei slammed her hand on the table in anger: "You!"

"Feifei, calm down! There must be a reason why Young Master Chu won't sign you. Let's figure out the situation first, otherwise misunderstandings will be bad!" Zhou Tengfei comforted his sister with a headache, saying helplessly.

Zhou Feifei took two deep breaths: "Fine! Why don't you sign me!"

"Because you're short, you're too short, you look only about 1.5 meters tall. I'm curious, how come Grandpa Zhou and Grandma Zhou aren't short, they look like they're from Beijing, but you, oh right, and Young Master Zhou, how come you two are so, so, cough, you know, how come you didn't inherit that gene?" Chu Yan looked at the two of them with a curious expression.

Zhou Feifei is 153 cm tall, and Zhou Tengfei is 20 years old but only 165 cm tall. They usually wear height-increasing shoes, so they might not attract much attention in S City, but they are really eye-catching in Beijing.

Zhou Feifei, who was initially furious at being called short, was immediately extinguished by Chu Yan's words, and instead began to shiver.

Zhou Tengfei said stiffly, "Well, my mom isn't tall, so we inherited her genes. We've been troubled by this height issue, but there's nothing we can do. Our bodies are a gift from our parents, and it's already good enough if we're healthy."

After saying that, he stood up and smiled, "I remembered that I haven't finished the assignment the teacher gave me, and Feifei's dance class is about to start, so we'll go back first. When Young Master Chu comes in later, please tell my grandfather for me that we have to leave first. Excuse me." After saying that, he pulled Zhou Feifei away from the Chu family before she could say anything, and they immediately drove away after getting into the car.

Watching the two figures leave, Chu Yan smiled and took out his phone to contact Gu Yin.

Gu Yin was reading a book when she saw Chu Yan's call. She assumed he was done with his work and answered with a smile, "All done with your work?"

Gu Yin's left hand, which was hanging down beside her thigh, gripped tighter and tighter as the other person spoke!

Gu Yin took a few deep breaths, nodded, and said in a trembling voice, "Okay, I'll go. Um, it's fine, I'll take a taxi. You can wait for me at the door. I'm fine, I'm going now. Um, by myself. Bye."

After hanging up the phone, Gu Yin put on a black down jacket, a red beanie and a scarf of the same color, and a mask. After thinking for a moment, she took out the tea she had bought earlier from her storage container, packed it up, and left the room.

Gu Qinglang and Li Mengxin were watching TV, while Gu Le was studying in another room.

Upon seeing her dressed neatly, the two men paused for a moment, then immediately stood up: "Is that Chu Yan? Tell him to wait, we'll change our clothes right away!"

Gu Yin shook her head and smiled, "No, his guest hasn't left yet. I'm going to the library. I'll come back when I go out this afternoon. You guys watch TV!"

So they weren't going to look at apartments after all. The two sat down, and Gu Qinglang nodded: "Did you bring your phone? Be careful, contact us if anything happens."

The library wasn't far from here; you could see it from the window. Gu Yin had been there before, so Gu Qinglang wasn't worried. He gave her some instructions and told her to come back early.

After leaving the hotel, Gu Yin hailed a car and headed to Longting No. 1.

Upon hearing the place name, the driver glanced at Gu Yin, seemingly wanting to ask something, but seeing that Gu Yin didn't seem to want to communicate, he kept quiet.

Gu Yin truly had no desire to communicate. Her mind was a jumbled mess, filled with images from her past life and this one. She was about to see the person, but she didn't know whether the outcome would be good or bad.

"Oh my, it's snowing!"

The driver's surprised voice brought Gu Yin back to reality. She rolled down the window, and snowflakes the size of soybeans drifted in, their icy coolness settling on her mask.

"Oh dear, young lady, opening the window will only make you catch a cold!" Before Gu Yin could say anything, he rolled up all the car windows.

The warmth spread throughout her body, and Gu Yin leaned back in her seat, relaxing.

Whether it's good or bad, she's determined to avenge this blood feud!

After driving for a while, the car entered the Xiangshan villa area.

After winding around for a while, a magnificent white castle appeared ahead.

The car stopped in front of the imposing black iron gate. The driver looked at Gu Yin and said, "Miss, this is Longting No. 1. Our car can't go in. You see..."

Gu Yin understood, paid the fare, and got out through the back door.

As she emerged, the solemn gate slowly opened.

Chu Yan strode over, holding a large black umbrella.

Chu Yan walked up to Gu Yin, glanced at the driver, then pulled her under the umbrella and led her inside.

The driver waited until the two people went inside before slowly driving away. "Tsk tsk tsk, living in this place, they're really rich! All the rich people in Beijing live here. Speaking of which, they're so wealthy, why didn't they leave a tip? I thought I'd get a tip, sigh, what a wasted trip!"

Gu Yin really didn't know about tipping for rides!

After entering, the gate slowly closed. Inside, there were three main roads, both sides of which were lined with sycamore trees. Gu Yin looked at Chu Yan and asked, "Which one should we take?"

Chu Yan waved, and a Golf eco-friendly electric vehicle drove over.

After the two finished, the car drove into the middle lane.

"This road leads to my house. The two roads on either side are other people's houses, like Xue Wen's house from yesterday. Xue's house is on the left-hand road. Remember the way when you come here from here," Chu Yan explained to Gu Yin.

Gu Yin nodded: "Was your house the only one along this road before?"

"No, besides the Chu family mansion, there are other villas, most of which belong to families who are on good terms with us."

As the two were talking, the car took them to the front of an ancient building with white walls, black tiles, and a vermilion gate, somewhat resembling a courtyard house.
