Chapter 718: What are you doing here?
Gu Yin didn't pay much attention to Xiao Jie's large group of attackers, and nodded, saying, "Then good luck."
After saying a whole bunch of things, all Xiao Jie got in return was these four words: "...Okay, I will." The conversation was dead; how could he continue?! Has Zhenren (Xiao Jie's real name) become stupid from reading too much, like those old fogies who only care about experiments?
The captain driving in front kept an eye on the situation behind him while driving. He heard what Xiao Jie said and grinned silently at Gu Yin's reaction. The next few days might be quite interesting.
Because of Gu Yin's four words, the journey was much quieter, except for the sound of the car starting.
As soon as we arrived at our destination, we heard a drop or two of water dripping from above, followed by a rushing sound.
"It's raining, let's go to the rest area to get out of the rain!" After parking the car, the captain got out and reached out his hand. Gu Yin braced herself against the car and jumped out, quickly walking towards the house next door.
As soon as I entered the house, the rain soaked the soil on the ground, and the air smelled earthy and a bit unpleasant.
Gu Yin surveyed the rest area. It was quite large, at least the size of two basketball courts! There were no walls on any side, only a thatched roof overhead, which could block the rain but not the wind. However, the wind wasn't strong in the forest, so there was nothing to worry about.
Besides a lot of primitive machinery and equipment, there were also hammocks, camp beds, outdoor supplies, and so on.
As the captain walked around, he said, "There's a pot here, and some solid alcohol blocks. Let me see what other ingredients we have so we can make something to eat."
Gu Yin followed: "Are the ingredients here delivered on time?"
The captain nodded: "Yes, it's delivered every three days. There are staff members here every day, as well as people stationed here. This place is for them to rest. Everyone can use the things here, and the ingredients are fresh. We can't see anyone right now, so they must have gone far away and haven't come back yet."
After saying that, he opened the storage cabinet: "Hey, there are two lamb chops, dumplings, chicken, vegetables, and instant noodles. Looks like they were just put in recently. We're pretty lucky."
Xiao Jie also came over: "When I came here yesterday, I saw the logistics staff come and change the drinks. I'm also hungry. Shall we make something to eat?"
Upon hearing this, the captain looked at Gu Yin and asked, "What would you like to eat?"

Xiao Jie sighed, picked up the pot, and followed Gu Yin to the nearby stream to wash it: "...Comrade Xiao Zhou, do you have any good friends?"

Startled, Xiao Jie turned around and saw two people in raincoats walking towards him from the lakeside, each holding a flashlight.
The man shone his flashlight in Xiao Jie's direction, and Xiao Jie squinted and quickly shouted, "We're on the same side!"
Hearing the other person's voice and seeing their face, the person strode over.

Seeing that the group was chatting, the captain turned back and marinated some more meat.
