Chapter 801: Oh? Who told you that?
"I didn't know you were injured before I came! What, you didn't tell us because you were afraid of being scolded?" Gu Yin stepped forward with a smile.
The old man shook his head. It wasn't that he was afraid of being scolded, but that he was afraid of being confined to his home and not being allowed to leave!
"It's just a minor injury, it's healed a long time ago! It's nothing, it's cold in the yard, how could you have come over?"
Gu Yin chuckled softly upon hearing this, "I'll give you two a task."
The two old men exchanged a glance, and the old man wondered to himself, "Could it be that they're not letting me out?"
The old lady didn't care what he thought. Seeing her granddaughter like this, she immediately asked curiously, "What mission? Tell me!"
Gu Yin patted the old man's arm: "Don't worry, it has nothing to do with you! My cousin has a girl he likes."
"The one who was abroad before?" The old lady knew about this!
Gu Yin nodded: "That's right, that's how it is. It's finals now, everyone's studying, the school library and study rooms are packed. Even if you get up early to queue, you might not get a spot. What I'm thinking is, have my cousin and Ahua bring their friends home to study. That way they won't be bored, and the environment will be better. My cousin is planning to invite Yue Xin over. Ahua's idea is that since Yue Xin is coming, she'll give my cousin a chance to pursue her, and she won't get involved. She'll go to Chen Jishen's studio to study, but it wouldn't be good if it's just the two of them there. So what I'm suggesting is that you two find something to do nearby and prepare some food and drinks for them. That way, it won't bother them or make them feel uncomfortable. Do you understand what I mean?"
The old lady immediately assured her, "I understand! I'll show up when I'm supposed to, and not show up when I'm not! I'll act like I'm invisible the whole time!"
Gu Yin smiled and nodded: "Pretty much! Don't be too enthusiastic, or you'll scare them away! Especially Grandpa!"
The old man nodded: "Don't worry! I'll take care of it! When are you coming? Tomorrow? What does she like to eat and play? We can prepare in advance. Should we review in the living room, the study, or Ah Shu's room? I think the gazebo would be nice. We can lower the curtains next to it to block the wind, and they can sit around the stove and brew tea. It'll be warm, quiet, and romantic, perfect for studying!"
Gu Yin: "...Grandpa, how do you know so much? You even know about brewing tea around a stove?"
The old man said proudly, "Isn't that how all those TV dramas my wife watches every day filmed? You'll learn it just by watching them a lot!"
The old lady, who only remembered the plot of falling madly in love: "..."
Gu Yin: "Alright, as long as you understand! You and your cousin can think about it and try to help him confess successfully! I won't get involved; I'm going back to school to do an experiment tomorrow."
The two nodded solemnly: "We guarantee to complete the mission! Little Zhou, you'd better serve the country well!"
Gu Yin: "..." Gu Yin opened her mouth, wanting them to watch less TV dramas, but what the two said made no problem, so she could only shut up.
The next morning, Gu Yin went to the laboratory; she went to her teacher's laboratory.
"You've finally arrived! Take a look, these are all your homework!" Yue Zemin placed a stack of documents on Gu Yin's desk.
Gu Yin asked in confusion, "Homework? What homework?" She then reached out to look through the pages.
"The final projects, weren't they all supposed to be sent to email? Why are they all printed out? But that's fast." These were the final projects for the classes she was teaching. She flipped through them casually; some had just decided on their topics, some had started looking for materials, and some were already halfway done.
Yue Zemin sighed helplessly: "They were worried your inbox was too full and you wouldn't be able to see it right away, so I don't know which clever person came up with this idea to print it out directly. To put it bluntly, they're just afraid of falling behind and running out of project funds! They're really going all out! You should take a look and see which ones you can't do, and send them back. They've been asking me about this every day while you were away from school!"
Gu Yin nodded and sat down: "You underestimate my financial resources? That shouldn't be the case."
"They're worried that students from other departments will snatch them all up, and they don't want to embarrass you, so they want to be the first to get your approval!"
Helpless, Gu Yin took out her computer and started grading assignments.
After spending the whole morning, I finally finished watching it.
"Go home for dinner or go to the cafeteria?" Yue Zemin asked Gu Yin as he packed his things.
Gu Yin waved her hand: "Senior brother, you go first. I'll send out the emails and then go to the cafeteria for dinner."
After Gu Yin finished categorizing and annotating all the feedback, she packed up her things to go eat. She wouldn't come to school in the afternoon; she would go to her own lab to work.
When she arrived at the canteen, there were very few students left. Gu Yin didn't go to the classroom canteen, but instead got her food on the first floor and found an empty seat to eat.
Halfway through the meal, a group of students sat down in front of Gu Yin, their backs to her, making a lot of noise.
Gu Yin glanced up casually, saw that she didn't recognize him, and continued eating with her head down.
"I heard that the guys in the life sciences department have already sent their research papers, and some have even completed a third of them! How come they're so fast! Our class is related to biology, after all. Compared to them, aren't we a bit slow?"
"Indeed, I heard that the other two classes have submitted their projects in the past few days. Our project has only just been finalized, and we're still unsure if we can continue!"
“I’m also a little worried, especially since our research overlaps with Professor Zhou’s previous research on hematological diseases. I’m worried that our research will be rejected.”
After Gu Yin and her senior brother developed a specific drug for AIDS, her senior brother expanded his research to other blood diseases, and they are now close to getting results.
I just don't know which one these people are researching.
"What are you afraid of? We're not plagiarizing. We're just refining some details of their research. Besides, I heard that some people in their class are doing research in this area. Their professors might even give them materials and research projects directly. You guys are worrying here while they're getting in through connections! In the end, we're the ones who are at a disadvantage!"
"Exactly, she is their mentor after all. Not to mention giving them materials, she might even give those small experiments that she doesn't like to those students directly! She says it's fair, but whether it's fair or not, everyone knows!"
"I think so too! Otherwise, how could those people submit their work so quickly! Especially that class monitor, I heard his team has already completed quite a bit, which is also an extension of that teacher's research topic! He's good at flattering people, so of course he's getting tons of materials fed to him, right?"
"Oh? Where did you hear all this from? I don't know anything about it."
Without even looking up, the man sneered, "Are you stupid? Everyone can see it. Why would you need to hear it from somewhere?" As he finished speaking, he realized the voice was unfamiliar and turned to see who it was.
"Thud!"
The sound of chopsticks hitting the table rang out.
"Hello, Teacher Zhou, what are you doing here?" The male student looked at Gu Yin with a flushed face and a blank mind.
Everyone around looked up, and the scene immediately fell silent.
