Chapter 166 Chu Yan: Who is he?

Chapter 166 Chu Yan: Who is he?

When they woke up the next morning, all the children in the family were sore all over. Gu Hua didn't want to get up and kept groaning in the house, but Gu Yin gritted her teeth and got up. She even kicked her legs and did some stretching in the yard. When she looked up, she saw Qin Heng coming downstairs with a grimace.

Qin Heng never expected the aftereffects to be so unpleasant, even more so than the day after he came back from climbing the mountain!

Going down the stairs was difficult; with each step he took, his face contorted in pain. Halfway down, he saw Gu Yin watching him from the courtyard.

His face immediately turned red.

Qin Heng immediately stood up straight: "Cough, why did you wake up so early?!"

Gu Yin smiled and said, "There's no way around it, it hurts to sit, it's better to get up and move around a bit."

After starting school, they rarely did farm work anymore. Doing it for too long now, their muscles were bound to ache.

“I think what you said makes a lot of sense, so I got up too!” Qin Heng nodded.

Seeing him standing there motionless, and recalling the scene from just now, Gu Yin thoughtfully turned away and stopped looking at him.

Seeing Gu Yin turn around, Qin Heng immediately rushed downstairs, ignoring the aches and pains in his muscles! He had to get down there first! Saving face was important!

Hearing the sound of a car rapidly descending the road behind her, Gu Yin did not turn around until she heard the sound behind her.

"Where did Uncle and the others go?" Qin Heng looked into the main room in confusion, but did not see the adults. He asked curiously.

"They got up at six in the morning to pick corn on the back hill and will be back at noon." When Li Mengxin and the others left, Gu Yin was still half asleep. They told Gu Yin to wake up and make whatever she wanted to eat.

"Don't we need to go?"

Gu Yin shook her head. This year, she only planted a little yellow corn to feed the pigs. It wasn't much; a few adults could finish it in a few hours. The main reason was that they were worried about the children and knew they were tired yesterday, so they didn't ask them to join in.

"I'll go make something to eat. What would you like to eat?"

Qin Heng smiled at Gu Yin: "Are you going to cook? Hmm~ Anything is fine, I'm not picky! Do you need any help?"

Gu Yin shook her head: "No need, go wash up." After saying that, she turned around and went into the kitchen.

Qin Heng touched the corner of his eye. Luckily, there was no eye boogers, or he would have been incredibly embarrassed. Why was he chatting with a girl before even washing up?! What a bad habit! He hoped Gu Yin wouldn't think he was unclean!

While Gu Yin was busy, Gu Hua and the others got up too. The group worked together to prepare five dishes. After eating, with Qin Heng's permission, they took nets and buckets and went to the river to catch snails and shrimp!

Qin Heng was filled with curiosity and excitement as it was his first time touching snails. As soon as he arrived, he couldn't wait to get into the water after Gu Shu found a good spot. He grabbed handfuls of snails and found it so addictive!

"So many snails! Doesn't anyone eat them here? In the city market, they sell for three yuan a pound! If you cut off the tails, they're five yuan a pound! Cooked ones are eight yuan a box! They're super delicious!"

Gu Shu also went into the water: "There are people eating, but it's mostly kids picking them up. There's so much of this stuff, we can't pick it all up. How about we come back and collect some more for you to take home?"

Qin Heng's eyes lit up: "That's great! My grandpa also loves to eat these things. When I came here, he was a little hesitant and told me that if it wouldn't be too much trouble, he could bring some back!"

Gu Yin didn't go into the water. She and Gu Le stayed on the shore. She used a net to scoop up snails in the deeper water. The water was clear to the bottom. After each scoop, the river water would become murky after the mud was brought up. At this point, Gu Le needed to spot the snails in advance so that they wouldn't be empty when scooping them up again.

Gu Hua was taking photos. Qin Heng had come all this way, so it wouldn't be right not to take some pictures. Therefore, Gu Hua temporarily became the photographer.

Seeing that the water here wouldn't be able to clear up in a short time, Gu Yin looked at Gu Shu and Qin Heng and said, "Let's move to another place up here, we can't see it from here."

None of them objected, and they all stood up.

Qin Heng handed the bucket of water to Gu Yin: "Could you please hold this for me? I need to wring the water off my clothes."

The other person was wearing a white T-shirt, and because they were close to the water's surface catching snails, the front of their shirt was completely soaked.

Gu Yin didn't look around. She took a step forward, reached out and took the bucket, and turned to leave. But the stone under her foot slipped, and as soon as she threw the bucket onto the grass in front of her, she fell into the water.

"Watch out!" Qin Heng had seen the stones loosen with his own eyes. He quickly reached out and grabbed Gu Yin's arm, then used his shoulder to brace against her back, stabilizing her.

Gu Shu, who was standing nearby, quickly came over and pulled the person up.

Gu Yin breathed a sigh of relief after she stood still; thankfully, there were no snakes in the crevice between the rocks.

"Are you alright?" Gu Hua was taking pictures in front when she heard the voice and turned around. She saw Qin Heng helping the person up and took a picture of the scene with her phone. When she saw Gu Shu help the person up, she called out.

"It's nothing!" Gu Yin shook her head, then looked at Qin Heng: "Thanks!"

Qin Heng shook his head. After everything was alright, the group continued walking forward.

Qin Heng blushed as he recalled the smooth, slippery feeling of his arm as he grabbed Gu Yin's.

Feeling the heat on his face, Qin Heng lowered his head and followed behind the others.

On the other side of the ocean, Chu Yan, dressed and ready to discuss a contract with his father, saw his phone light up. He picked it up and saw that it was Gu Shu who had posted a message on QQ.

As Chu Yan walked towards the elevator, he browsed through Gu Shu's posts. The post simply read "Happy Summer Vacation," and below it, in addition to nine pictures, the superimposed numbers showed that he had uploaded dozens of pictures at once.

Chu Yan clicked on the link, got off the elevator, and got into the car.

Chu Xiong said helplessly, "Don't look at your phone in the car, it's bad for your eyes."

"I'll just glance at the information, it'll be done in a minute."

He had barely finished speaking when he saw a photo that made him uncomfortable.

A girl with radiant white skin was being supported by a gentle and handsome boy, their bodies even touching. Staring at the hands gripping Gu Yin's arm, Chu Yan felt a tightness in his chest. Why were they getting so close? Gu Shu was really something, how could he let a boy get so close to his sister! What kind of brother was he!

The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Finally, he closed his phone, feeling utterly annoyed. After a while, he opened his phone again, saved the photo, and sent a private message to Gu Shu: "Who is this?"

Seeing his son's expression shift between anger and frustration, Chu Xiong asked curiously, "What did you see that made you so angry?"

Chu Yan was taken aback: "Angry? No?"

Chu Xiong smiled meaningfully: "Alright, I'm not angry. We've arrived, get off the bus."

After getting out of the car, taking the elevator, and entering the conference room, Chu Yan took out his phone again, but Gu Shu didn't reply!

Chu Yan snapped his phone shut, took out the contract, and began organizing the documents in his hands with a cold expression.

When the other party arrived and saw him like this, they were puzzled. Had the terms they negotiated yesterday been too harsh? That was already the lowest they could accept; any lower and they wouldn't make a profit!

Yesterday, Chu Yan still had a smile on his face, but today at the negotiating table, he didn't waste any words and went straight to the point, pointing out without reservation that the other party's company was basically an empty shell. He then pointed out that the other party was facing internal and external troubles and needed their help. He showed no respect to the other party, and was both cold and ruthless, fully embodying the nature of a businessman!

The other party originally thought that they were new to the company and didn't know anything about it. They thought it would be best if the other party invested, or if that didn't work out, they could cooperate. But today, Chu Yan directly plans to acquire their company!

Chu Xiong was overjoyed! He was grateful for the news that had upset his son today! The contract was finally finalized. Yesterday, the other party insisted on a 40/60 partnership, but now they've acquired it. Excellent! The student has surpassed the teacher!
