Chapter 15: Can fight!

Jared Carradine never chose the life of a demon hunter, and he was already tired of it.

Because of the so-called "law of accidents" guiding fate, Judd was given to a mad cat-faction witcher by his father like a commodity, and his tormented life began from then on.

The long-lasting sword training left countless scars on young Judd's body; the inhuman grass trials, potions and toxins shattered his spirit.

Sword training created corpses, potion transformation also created corpses, and in the end, Judd looked around and found that there was no newcomer around him except himself.

He became the only demon hunter of that generation who succeeded in the Green Grass Trial. Later he learned that this was a common occurrence, and what was even more common was the trial without a winner.

What's more frightening is that Judd realizes that in this crazy and depressing life, he has gradually become the kind of madman he hates, acting in an extreme, reckless, radical and violent way.

The witcher's potions always have various side effects. The side effect of the Cat School is mental damage. The potion enters the brain and produces extreme lunatics.

After leaving the castle of the Cat School, Judd used his remaining rationality to think about his future. He had never chosen to be a demon hunter, nor did he want to choose to be a demon hunter.

The bandit groups he encountered in his spare time inspired Judd, but he wanted to form a bigger one. After accepting several commissions from demon hunters, Judd quickly began to recruit bandits to form his own team.

But what Judd wanted was not something as low-class as a bandit group. What he wanted to form was a caravan, a team that could provide him with sufficient funds and allow him to live a peaceful life.

As a result, Judd's gang grew larger and larger, with rapid personnel changes. At the same time, in order to accelerate the accumulation of funds, he used his sword to rob the weaker people of their property as a bandit group, and begged for wealth from the strong as a mercenary.

Funds accumulated quickly. Judd did have some business acumen. If he had not become a demon hunter, he might have become a good businessman.

This turned out to be the last mission of Judd's bandit group. He took along a powerful wizard who was hundreds of years old and smuggled an important spellcasting material for him.

The spell material is now lost by him.

Judd was hiding deep in the bushes, watching the noble boy by the campfire send all the soldiers away, leaving only himself. He held a fist-sized crystal in his hand, tossed it up and caught it again, like a toy.

Judd's eyes brightened with every toss of Lane's hand. The thing that boy treated as a toy was his future!

Once those dispersing soldiers go a little further away and spread out a little further, I will pounce on him and slit this kid’s throat!

Suddenly, perhaps because wearing armor was inconvenient for him to be flexible, the boy dropped his hand.

The crystal brushed past the palm and fell to the ground, rolling, spinning and bouncing into... the bonfire.

The boy seemed stunned for a moment. He looked at his palm, looked at the place where the crystal fell, and then looked at the bonfire. He seemed not to react, and seemed to think that this result was too ridiculous.

Then he made a helpless gesture.

And then, just don’t care.

The crystals were crackling and burning in the bonfire.

He, doesn't care! anymore!

“Brat!” An angry roar that was not human sounded from the depths of the jungle, and Judd pounced out like a cat whose tail was stepped on.

Lann drew out the long sword beside him immediately, and just as he was about to parry, he felt a surge of power pouring on the spine of his sword.

"Dang dang dang dang" the sounds of collision were heard continuously, and Judd almost swung the sword in his hand into the wind, accompanied by butterfly-like steps and rotations. Every turn was accumulating power for the next one, and every turn brought another series of slashes.

In the darkness, he started dancing, just like a huge windmill that kept emitting sparks!

Lann recognized the moves used by the opponent at a glance. It was a late-stage move of the Demon Hunter's [Light Attack] series, or even a big move!

[Sword Dance]: A spinning attack that can attack all nearby enemies. Continuous attacks consume vitality and adrenaline. Adrenaline poison increase: +5%. 5/5

This skill requires 20 points of [Combat] type skills to be unlocked, and is also a watershed skill for melee-type demon hunters. With this skill, demon hunters finally have the ability to "take down the opponent with one set" in sword skills.

Seeing that the demon hunter in front of him was about to start spinning and couldn't stop, Lann decisively loosened the sword in his hand, rolled backwards, and fell into the fire.

The witcher's sword danced continuously, clanging and slashing at Lann's armor like iron forging, but failed to break the defense.

The heavy armor knocked the burning campfire apart, and the scattered hot wood chips pushed the witcher back a few steps.

Lann opened his visor, tossed the crystal he had fished out of the fire, and glanced provocatively at the demon hunter opposite him.

He also has skills, and they are skills that the opponent has no way of learning!

[Unmovable]: Reduces damage taken when dodging by 80%. Increases adrenaline poison by +4%. (4/5)

Judd didn't think too much about it, he just thought that the armor on the noble boy opposite was too thick. The cat school has never been good at breaking armor, so it's normal that it can't cut it.

"Boy, hand over the crystal in your hand. I will leave immediately. There is no point in fighting between us."

"It makes sense." Lann pulled out another long sword from the side of the campfire. This was his camp, and weapons had been placed around it long ago.

"Meaning? Boy, do you know who I am?"

Lann saw the cat head necklace on the other party's chest in the flickering firelight, and his heart was slightly relieved. As early as when he knew that the leader of the thieves' group was a demon hunter, Lann had guessed that among all the demon hunters of various sects, only the cat school could do such a thing.

The Cat School is rich in assassins, good at swords, likes to wear light armor, and has no ability to penetrate armor. In the game, there is a joke that "I will kill the enemy if he doesn't die", and Lann put on a full set of knight armor just to guard against them.

And according to Lann's observation, the opponent did not release any magic seal after coming up. What he feared most was that the opponent would raise his hand to smear fire on his face or hypnotize him mentally, and then he would really have no way to fight.

This is the best situation now. The demon hunters in this world are not as perverted as those in the game. Instead, they are like a combination of novels and American TV series. The demon hunters are closer to the positioning of "warriors".

Extraordinary, but not that extraordinary. Good at fighting!

Out of courtesy, it's time to say a few harsh words.

"I will know who you are later." Lann said, "The question now is, do you know who I am?"
