An illusory figure slowly appeared with her back to the demon hunter. She was wearing the black dress that Alice wore when she died, with a black veil covering her face. This was mourning attire.
She looked at the painting of Alice and Ogierd, both of whom had warm smiles on their faces.
She is Alice's incarnation as a spirit.
Her face was covered with a black veil, her hands were folded on her belly, and she stood elegantly and dignifiedly; Lan En couldn't see her expression at the moment, but he felt that her body gave him a sense of fragility and seemed to disappear at any time.
After a long time, the demon spirit seemed to be awakened by the painting. She stretched out her fingertips and gently touched the drawing board. Then a bright white light spot appeared on the canvas and gradually spread out, until the painting changed into another appearance.
Lann looked closely and saw that the content of the painting had changed from a portrait of the couple to their home - Everec Manor.
It was not a place that was eerie and cloudy, like a dark magic manor; but a noble mansion that was sunny and full of blooming flowers.
Just by looking at this painting, everyone seems to be able to hear the chirping of insects and birds in midsummer, full of vitality.
It was not until the cold wind from the manor blew over again that everyone regained consciousness. When they looked up, they saw the spirit incarnated by Alice gently placing her palm on the painting. The whole person turned into green ash and was gradually absorbed by the painting.
The witchers looked at each other.
The cat and the dog were indifferent when Alice came out, until this moment they gathered in front of the drawing board and explained:
"This is a world in a painting, but also a world in a dream. It is an independent space created by Alice's works, and she is sleeping inside. If you want to find Alice's home, you have to look for her here."
Lan nodded and signaled to the witcher behind him, who followed Alice's soul and placed his hands on the drawing board. Then he felt dizzy.
Landing, retching, Lann felt for a moment as if he had passed through a portal for the first time.
He looked back and saw that the five demon hunters who suddenly appeared had the same reaction as him.
Lann suddenly realized that this was a problem. Demon hunters were too sensitive to the dizziness of the portal because of their sharp senses, just like people in their previous lives suffered from motion sickness. But what if the enemy caught this weakness one day? Is it possible to eliminate this weakness through desensitization training?
In front of him was the Everec Manor, which was similar to the one in the painting. It looked neat and lively, and it was obviously before Olgierd left. Lann looked up and could see a blue-green halo like the aurora surrounding the horizon, reminding everyone that this world was actually an illusion.
The demon hunters behind him recovered from their dizziness. Letho tentatively grabbed a handful of dirt from the ground, wondering, "I have never heard of someone who can independently create such an illusory world using only a painting as a carrier..."
"I thought that turning into a demon spirit based on resentment after death was the limit, but I didn't expect that it could actually create a world... Could it be that Mrs. Alice is also a master of black magic like her husband?"
Lann shook his head and sighed, "The magic in this world is always so wonderful. Some warlocks spend hundreds of years learning but may not be able to defeat a magic-blocking gold dagger, while some ordinary people can create the wonders before their eyes with their pure and powerful emotions."
Before Kaiyan's brain recovered from the dizziness, his five senses were suddenly affected by the aura of the black cat and the black dog.
The pair of demons that possessed the small animals actually followed in.
"You seem to have strong perception abilities, and now is the time to use them. This world is made up of fuzzy, withered memories, which are things that the mistress tried hard to forget but could not get rid of. You need to find these nightmare memories of the past and destroy them before you can wake up the mistress."
Kaiyan laughed and said, "This script is a bit like a fairy tale, but shouldn't this be the scene where the prince wakes up the princess?"
"If that's the way it is," Lan said, "we actually went to ask the princess for help to kill the prince."
Letho said expressionlessly: "I don't think Olgierd is a prince. He is not as good as you."
After they finished talking, the cat and the dog disappeared into the air, and no one knew where they were.
They looked at the world again and found that there were many insects emitting yellow lights flying in disorder in the air, and black fog was slowly emerging from the ground. They looked into the distance, but found that the houses not far away were blurry, and only the scenery in front of them gave them a slightly solid feeling.
In front of you is a garden that looks like a maze. It seems that the whole thing will not be complete until the guests are lost in it. Almost all manors have such a facility.
And in the pavilion of this garden, there are two figures standing still like sculptures.
There was a couple. The husband was sitting on a bench with a sad look on his face, staring at his empty hands, as if there was something in them that could free him from his distress; the wife had a happy smile on her face, and was painting the home of herself and her lover on the drawing board, wanting to record it all.
Ever since Lann came into this world, the badge on his neck has never stopped vibrating. He easily distinguished the nature of the two "people" in front of him - magical creations.
Kolgrim swung his sword and tried to chop at Olgierd's figure, and the silver sword cut through the void without any hindrance.
"It's the phantom of Alice and Olgierd. There doesn't seem to be any clues here. Should we look around for clues?"
The black cat and the black dog suddenly appeared again and explained to everyone: "It's not an illusion. It's a reflection of the memories of the master and the mistress, and it's also the beginning of the mistress's nightmare. This reflection is incomplete. Only by carefully repairing this memory can we continue to go deeper into the mistress's nightmare and finally see her."
Lann concluded: "That means we can't see the next memory until this reflection is repaired. We can only do it one by one, right? Like a puzzle game?"
The cat and the dog answered together, "Yes."
Everyone looked around and now understood why the house in the distance was blurry, but the garden and pavilion under their feet were solid.
Kolgrim sighed: "I thought we entered a painting, but it turns out we entered a woman's dream."
Kaiyan nodded in approval: "What you said is a bit like poetry."
Finding clues is what demon hunters are best at, they are all natural detectives. The six demon hunters activated their senses together and searched together in this pavilion that could only accommodate a dozen people, and soon everyone found something unusual.
"The hostess is painting the manor." Oaks came forward, "It's the same one we came in with. It's exactly the same."
Serrit fell into deep thought: "There are discs, palettes and a book on the ground. Shouldn't all these things be thrown on the ground?"
Lann glanced at the empty table and Olgierd's eyes fixed on his hands. "Restoring memories means returning these things to their original places, right? Alice neglected the location of these details because she fell into a deep sleep, and we need to correct them."
Serrit opened the book and placed it in Olgierd's hands, allowing his inquiring eyes to look directly at the words; then he placed the palette on the table so that Alice, who was painting, could reach it when she turned around.
Before he could figure out where to put the disc, the reflection of his memories, which had been like a sculpture in front of him, suddenly began to ripple, and the illusory body gradually solidified.
The demon hunter tossed the disc aside. "This doesn't seem important."
Lane took a step back and watched as the reflection of his memory began to recreate the beginning of Alice's nightmare.
…
The breeze blows and the fragrance of flowers wafts.
Olgierd sat in a chair, silent, staring at the book in his hands. But he had not turned the pages for a long time, and his thoughts had long drifted away.
Alice turned her back to him and was unaware of her husband's distress. Or maybe she thought it was just a temporary setback in life and she would soon see her husband's smiling face again.
"Shall we get a dog? Or a cat and a dog together?" Alice suddenly suggested. "When it rains, the dog can warm my feet, and the cat can play with the woolen ball by the fire. What do you think?"
Alice smiled as she painted bright colors on the canvas, her tone full of longing for the scene she painted. As she spoke, the clear chirping of birds around her echoed her words.
But she waited for a long time but didn't hear any reply from her husband. She turned around and saw him staring at the book.
Alice complained unhappily, "Are you listening to me?"
Olgierd awoke from his dream. "I'm sorry, dear. I was too absorbed in my reading."
Alice pursed her lips and suddenly felt a little sad: "Is that book so good?"
Olgierd said without looking up. “I'm sorry, you're right, this is actually a terrible book… Shall we go back?”
"Why? What a nice weather today! The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing... It's like a poem or a picture. You seem to be worried recently, and this kind of environment can make you feel better."
Olgierd avoided his wife's expectant eyes and said, "I feel a little uncomfortable, so I'll go back first. If you like today's weather, you can stay alone for a while."
After saying this, he staggered away without waiting for his wife's response.
Alice seemed to want to keep the other person, but she hesitated when she saw the tired back. Her eyes were full of loss and worry.
…
The memories end.
Lan looked up as if he had sensed something, and saw that the manor, which had a clear sky, had suddenly darkened, and the clouds in the sky had blocked the sun.
There was also a cold wind blowing, rustling the treetops, and just listening to it made people feel a little cold.
“Buzz——”
A garden path extending from the pavilion suddenly became solid from illusory. Obviously, that was the location of Alice's next memory.
As the path became more solid, large, dense clusters of yellow spots emerged from the bushes. They looked like spots of paint splashed by a novice painter, but they made sounds like bees.
“Buzz——”
"The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing..." Lann raised his left hand, "but it's not a good day today."
[Igni Seal]!
The cone-shaped flame surged, pushing away everything in sight, and ignited the bees that were so dense that they almost looked like a yellow barrier.
This number of bees is enough to bury the entire pavilion tightly, and Lann doesn't want to experience the feeling of being close to them.
"Walk!"
Lann took the lead, keeping his left hand stretched forward. The garden path was densely covered with bees, and Lann kept spraying streams of fire, opening a flame path for everyone.
"Are you okay?" After a long while, Letho suddenly asked, "You have used Igni more than a dozen times, right?"
Lann glanced at his system bar——[Mana: 3033/3400]
"It's early. I'm a griffon, remember?"
Lann calmly drove away the bees in front of him and soon arrived at a fountain.
When everyone stepped in here, it was as if there was an invisible barrier that isolated the bees outside. Obviously, Alice's memory did not want the bees to appear here - or there would be new things later.
The two people in front of him were still Ogierd and Alice, but it seemed that the timeline was a little earlier than before in the garden pavilion.
The couple looked younger now, and even Ogierd's face had a smile that could be described as "happy".
"It looks like this is the second memory." Lann looked at the two of them, "What do you think they are doing in this memory?"
The witcher looked towards them. At this moment, the couple stood facing each other, and Olgierd seemed to be handing something to Alice, with his palms clenched.
“I think this is what we are looking for,” Kolgrim said. “And I think I have found it.”
The amber snake pupils turned from bright to dark, shutting down the demon hunter's senses. He raised his hands, each holding a wine glass.
He stuffed two wine glasses into the couple's hands. Soon, the two shadows solidified again in front of everyone's eyes.
…
"I wish you good health, my dear wife."
The beautiful lover in front of him was reflected in Ogierd's eyes, and there was a tenderness and smile on his face that he had never seen before.
"And so do you, my husband."
Alice put on exquisite makeup and was almost reluctant to take her eyes off her husband's face.
The two men each held a wine glass in their hands, clinked their glasses together slightly, then raised their heads and drank it all.
This was a wedding, and the health toasts and the wine they had just drunk were the finale of the wedding.
Olgierd put down his glass and looked around with a lost look in his eyes, full of guilt towards his wife:
"In my hometown, custom dictates that newlyweds entertain guests with salt and bread... but we have no one around us now, and this is an unblessed marriage."
"Having you is enough for me. I don't ask for anything else." Alice walked forward slowly and put her arms around her husband's neck. "This is the happiest moment in my life. I really hope this moment can be frozen forever."
Olgierd hugged his wife and smiled dotingly: "If this is your wish, I will find a way."
Alice didn't pay attention to her husband's promise, thinking that he was just joking because he was as happy as she was.
"Come and take a look at our future home."
Ogierd made an inviting gesture, and in the direction he pointed, a house gradually solidified from an illusion into a solid entity.
Alice was led by the hand as they walked down the road. She hesitated and whispered, "I know this sounds stupid, but this house has been empty for a long time. Will it be..."
Olgierd interrupted confidently. "You are afraid of spiders. I know. They have been cleared away long ago. I threw them all into the garden."
Hearing this, Alice's face lit up with an even happier smile:
"My knight, you always take care of everything."
…
The two memory phantoms moved towards the main building of the manor. Lann and others followed them for a few steps at first, but they suddenly stopped.
In the gaps between the bushes and flowers, a huge black shadow was moving back and forth.
“clang——”
The witchers drew their weapons together.
Immediately afterwards, several black phantom spiders as tall as humans pounced out, tearing the plants into pieces!
Before they were even two steps away from the crowd, Lann had already stood at the front of the team, ready for battle. He raised his left hand, a surge of heat brewing in his palm.
[Igni Seal: Magical Explosion]!
The flames, far more violent than before, engulfed all the spiders in an instant, and even caused a huge impact that knocked back their bodies that had not yet burned out.
The scorching flames brought about a violent air backflow, blowing the witcher's hair behind Lann wildly.
Kolgrim wiped his face and said, "You didn't burn the bees with this much power before, did you?"
"Use different powers on different enemies...be careful!"
The ground beneath his feet rumbled and shook, and a black phantom spider broke out of the ground like an earth dragon. Along the tunnel it dug, an endless stream of small spiders as big as fists crawled out.
"This is not Alice's nightmare. She is happily holding her wedding, but we are here chopping spiders." Kaiyan drew out his silver sword and dodged the spider's attack. "I think this is our nightmare!"
Lann slapped the ground, and the huge [Yarden Seal] enveloped the six demon hunters, weakening the speed of every spider that pounced over.
"From the memory scene just now, this wedding took place before their dispute. At that time, Ogierd was still relatively young." Lann chopped the spider with his sword and then added a flame. "Perhaps it was because they once had a happy time that the disaster that happened afterwards became even more tragic and eventually became Alice's nightmare."
At this time, a large number of spiders were weakened by Lann's [Yarden Seal] and were killed by the demon hunter. More spiders were injured or even killed by purple lightning while wandering outside.
Those spider monsters seemed to have intelligence. Seeing this situation, they actually started spitting spider silk at Lann and others from a distance!
With a "whoosh" sound, it was as if someone had shot an arrow without an arrowhead. Kolgrim was pulling the sword out of the body of a spider when he heard the sound of wind and the protective seal on his body was shattered. The hand holding the sword was immediately stuck to the body by the white spider silk.
"What have these spiders been eating to grow so big over the years? Chaos energy?" Kolgrim shouted as he retreated, took out his dagger and began to quickly cut the spider silk on his arm. The other snake faction companions protected him behind them tacitly, blocking the chasing spiders.
"There are too many. This will never end!"
Reso and Lan looked at each other and nodded in understanding, then they retreated together, pulling Kaiyan who was in the midst of a fierce battle with them, and joined forces with the three members of the Snake Faction.
The illusory spider pounced on them regardless. Lann and Reso stretched out their left hands at the same time and made mysterious gestures.
[Alder Seal] + [Igni Seal·Magic Explosion]!
A strong storm gushed out from a palm that was nearly twice as big as Lan's, sweeping across the land with the flames and heat that appeared again. The fire, with the help of the wind, devoured all the spiders in front of them in a blink of an eye, and even the fountain not far away began to sizzle from being heated.
Lann and Reso turned their backs to the other four demon hunters, and the remaining four followed suit, using a combination of signs to fight the enemy.
With the six people standing back to back as the center, the entire garden around the fountain suddenly turned into a sea of fire.
The trees and flowers were burned into charcoal with a crackling sound, and then turned into ashes and scattered in the air. Lan En and others were worried that one round of fire would not be enough to burn the other party, so they tried a second and third time until there was no screaming in the flames.
Except for Lann, everyone else was panting. Normally, demon hunters would consume a lot of energy when using signs, but at this moment, several of them were sweating profusely, as if they had just killed several monsters with swords.
This was in stark contrast to the calm and composed Lan.
"Hoo, hoo." Kaiyan calmed his breathing and suddenly said, "If we do this in someone else's memory, will it become her nightmare?"
After everyone had calmed down, Lann cast several [Alder Seals] in succession to disperse the flames in front of them. The bodies of the spiders could still be seen burning, and the ashes of their bodies merged with the grass and trees.
If this were a real manor, it would be overgrown with weeds next year.
The gravel path beneath their feet, which led along the garden to the main building of the manor, had become solid.
Pushing the door open, this was the "second time" that everyone entered this building. Unlike the dilapidated ruins they saw the first time, this place was now clean and orderly, and it was obvious that the owner was carefully maintaining it. There was a little candlelight coming through from the room next to it, and it was obvious that the memory everyone was looking for happened in the direction of the candlelight.
Walking in the direction of the light, a long table appeared in front of everyone.
This was the first time Alice remembered seeing so many people. Previously, it was just her and Olgierd. This time, there were three others besides them, making a total of five people sitting at the long table.
This seemed to be a family dinner. A middle-aged man was sitting on the main seat. On his left was a middle-aged woman and a young man, and on his right were Alice and Ogierd.
There were several valuable silver candlesticks on the table, roasted suckling pig cooked to perfection, fresh grapes, soft white bread, and attractive cheese. Lan even saw a bottle of Castel Vecchio wine from Toussaint, which was very expensive.
It was obvious that the host had prepared this dinner carefully.
Seeing the dazzling array of dishes on the table, Kolgrim rubbed his stomach and said, "We need to repair our memories of this time? With so many things, how do we know where to put them?"
Lan looked around and soon found an oil painting hanging on the wall.
He invited everyone to come over, and the content of the oil painting was exactly the scene of this meal.
Kolgrim frowned and looked around: "Is there a special painter in the room? Is their meal this time so important?"
Lann shook his head: "This painting may not be a painting, but a direct manifestation of Alice's nightmare. This means that something she didn't want to see happened during this meal, leaving her with a deeper memory than the scenes outside. We can restore the scene of their meal based on this painting, and we should be able to repair this memory."
"Candles." Reso suddenly said, "The candles on the table are different from those in the painting."
Lann nodded, and everyone looked back and saw that none of the candlesticks on the dining table were lit.
After everyone rubbed the flames with their hands and lit the candles in comparison with the oil painting, the people at the table began to move around as before.
…
The wood burns slowly in the fireplace, bringing warmth into the restaurant.
It should have been a joyful family dinner, but the atmosphere seemed to be resisting the temperature and the expressions of the diners had nothing to do with the word "warmth".
Alice looked at her husband with a numb face and her parents who were frowning all the time, and took the initiative to speak to ease the atmosphere:
"Father, Mother, I'm so happy that you can come and see me."
The middle-aged man sitting in the main seat looked at his son-in-law sitting next to his daughter. From the moment they sat down, there was no eye contact between the two.
The middle-aged woman sitting opposite Alice looked at her husband and her daughter's husband in a reproachful manner, and asked Alice with concern:
"Are you all right, my dear? You look very sad... I think something is wrong."
Alice was wearing a black dress and dark eyeshadow, looking very charming under the firelight. But the black outfit made her look even paler, as if she had just recovered from a serious illness.
"I'm fine. If there's anything wrong, it's that I'm too happy today," Alice said sincerely. "But why didn't Grandpa and Grandma come? I missed them too."
As Ogierd listened to his wife's question, an undisguised impatience suddenly emerged on his numb face. He even shook his head and turned his eyes away.
Alice's mother saw all of this. She seemed to want to say something, but when she saw the smile on her daughter's face, she held herself back.
But the young man sitting next to her had no scruples. Seeing Ogierd's attitude, he smiled sarcastically and said:
"Old people don't like roads like this. They're long and rough... and there's mud everywhere!"
Hearing this, Olgierd turned his gaze back to Alice's family for the first time: "They still don't want to see me, right?"
The young man's face stiffened, as if he had not expected Ogierd to speak so directly.
Alice's father, who was sitting on the main seat, snorted heavily at the young man and cast a warning look at his son, telling him not to talk any more.
Olgierd seemed to open up a conversation, and asked about the things on the table: "What are these that made you take such a long and rough journey to bring them here?"
Alice's brother looked at his parents and saw that neither of them intended to speak, so he explained, "We brought some of Alice's favorite things. These are her comb and her favorite doll."
On the table stood a milky white, round jade comb, and the doll was embroidered with silver thread and pearls. They both looked very expensive, forming a sharp contrast with Alice's slightly simple outfit.
"Besides that, we have brought you a present, Olgierd." Alice's brother pointed to a document.
Seeing that thing, Alice showed a happy smile on her face, while Ogierd's face showed more impatience.
"Bank documents," Olgierd recognized them immediately.
Alice's mother seemed unable to bear it any longer. She reached out and held her son's hand, and said to Olgierd: "We have paid off the debts of the Everec family and bought the claims, so that our family members will not be able to hold their heads up in public."
Olgierd's face suddenly became calm. He stood up calmly, picked up the bank document, and said to the fireplace, "It's so touching that 'Dad' and 'Mother' still remember me."
There was neither warmth nor greasy in his tone, just a calmness. He looked back at the people at the table and threw the bank's documents into the fire.
Alice's mother stood up suddenly, but Olgierd seemed not to notice her and strode out of the restaurant on his own.
"Ogierd..." Alice called her husband, as if she wanted him to come back, but her tone was full of hesitation.
"Did you see him? I warned you before the wedding." Alice's mother scolded her daughter before Ogierd was far away, or perhaps she deliberately wanted her son-in-law to hear it.
"That's just what he is. He's just a commoner who makes friends with gangsters and scoundrels! Aren't you afraid to live under the same roof with such thugs? Go home, Alice, before you can get stuck."
Alice looked at her mother with a sad face, shook her head, and turned to look at the door that Olgierd had left.
…
The people at the table stopped moving, and the door that Olgierd had left opened again, and a black figure with a scimitar slung across his body walked out.
Lann silently drew out the Sword of the Lady of the Lake: "Every time I read the memories, an enemy appears... I'm getting a little impatient."
Lei Suo also drew out the snake-headed silver sword: "I agree."
The golden and silver lights simultaneously drew two arcs and slashed towards the black shadow. This time, the enemy was not only humanoid in shape, but also had the strength of a regular warrior. He was immediately knocked back by the two.
With a "bang", the door that he had just closed was slammed open again, and a crossbow arrow came out silently and pierced the black shadow's head.
The shadow dissipated. Kaiyan hung his crossbow back on his backpack. "I don't like this house either. Let's hurry up."
Outside the door was a staircase leading to the second floor. Everyone climbed up the stairs and arrived at the bedroom.
Alice's memory phantom lay on the bed, looking dazed, while Olgierd was washing his hands in a wooden basin, looking uneasy.
Relying on their witcher senses, they found a blood-stained towel and put it into the basin. The phantom in front of them began to move again.
…
This time, Alice was only wearing a black silk top, which seemed to be a nightgown. The neckline of the top was open all the way to the top of her abdomen, revealing a large area of smooth white roundness and two well-proportioned thighs.
Her skin was so pale that it was almost abnormal, and under the firelight she looked like a doll, full of a pitiful sense of brokenness.
"What time is it now? Ogierd, are you still awake?" Alice lay on the bed, rubbing her eyes in distress. Her voice, as sweet as a sparrow, was a little hoarse at the moment.
It was already late at night and the wife had taken a light nap, but she found that her husband was still busy.
Olgierd, dressed neatly in his robe, turned his back to her: "It's late, you should go back to sleep."
Alice looked at her husband's back thoughtfully: "You've been reading all night again... What's that on your hand? Is it blood? Are you hurt?"
Alice's tone was urgent, and she was about to get up.
Ogierd quickly wiped his hands with the towel, turned around and changed the subject.
"This is ink. I accidentally knocked over the ink bottle while writing a letter. I'm planning to go to Niubao in a few days. Do you want to come with me?"
Alice's thoughts were instantly drawn away. She had hardly ever gone out since she moved into the manor.
"Of course! That's a great idea! A trip would be good for both of us."
Seeing his wife's suddenly bright expression, an imperceptible smile appeared on Ogierd's numb face, and his eyes softened.
"Go to bed quickly and get enough rest." He said softly, "I'm very tired."
"But I can't sleep now." Alice jumped out of bed and acted coquettishly to her husband, "How about I go paint? I want to finish the portrait of you."
Ogierd was stunned for a moment, and before he had the chance to say anything, he was pulled by his wife to the second bedroom, which they had converted into a studio.
An unfinished portrait lay above the painter, and Olgierd struck a pose and adjusted the details under Alice's instructions.
Alice didn't notice that the warmth that had finally appeared in her husband's eyes was slowly disappearing.
"Smile, dear."
The husband tried his best to keep his expression calm and then pulled the corners of his mouth.
"It's a smile, not showing teeth." Alice said coquettishly, and then, I don't know what she was thinking, her face began to be filled with happiness.
"It's just like... the smile on your face when my father agreed to marry me to you. I want to see it again and draw it, okay? Please!"
Olgierd looked at his wife with a face full of longing, closed his eyes and tried to recall the past scenes, but it was of no use, instead his expression changed from calm to distressed, and even slightly sad.
"You are worried about something." The sensitive Alice immediately noticed the change in her husband.
"I..." Olgierd opened his mouth, "I still have some work to do, and I'm thinking about those things. Sorry."
"Work again? Olgierd...you never told me that we swore to keep no secrets from each other."
Alice spoke softly. Even though her words were reproachful and accusatory, they sounded indescribably gentle.
Olgierd couldn't resist the tone. "I'm sorry, but I don't want to talk about it."
He lowered his head and walked out of the studio quickly, not even giving Alice a chance to react.
"Ogierd..."
With a bang, Ogierd walked into his study and the door closed in front of Alice.
Alice couldn't stand it anymore. She was shivering in the cold wind with bare legs and wearing an airy silk pajamas, but even so she stayed outside her husband's study.
"Ogierd, come out, we must have a good talk today!"
Hearing his wife's voice trembling with tears as she spoke, Olgierd closed his eyes.
"I want to be alone."
Alice yelled, "Not this time, come out!"
Olgierd's tone suddenly became fierce: "Leave me alone! I just want to work in peace!"
There was suddenly no sound outside the door.
Olgierd slumped in his chair as if his bones had been pulled out. He thought he should be very tired, but in fact he didn't feel tired at all. It was like this when he just got up, and it was still like this at night, even after one night, two nights, and three nights.
This is not right.
He looked at the table in front of him, on which were two books and a basin of blood. The titles of the books were "Blood Contract: Alien Creatures" and "Between Different Worlds".
There was also a five-pointed star painted on the ground, with candles lit at each corner of the star.
This is a dark magic circle.
Ogierd never let his wife enter his study, and Alice was always considerate of her husband and gave him enough privacy, so she was unaware of everything that happened in the study.
"I can't feel happiness, I can't feel joy, now even the tiredness has disappeared, only loneliness and pain are left..."
Olgierd's sad expression deepened as he heard his wife's retreating footsteps.
Even though he had tried many times, he still knelt in the pentagram formation again, spread his arms, clenched his fists, and recited the spell steadily and quickly.
Then he opened his eyes, hoping to see the figure he expected. After failing, he closed his eyes again and changed the spell to continue.
Over and over again, he tried almost every spell he had ever tried before finally breaking down.
"Damn it! What other spell do you want me to use? I've tried them all! I want to terminate our agreement and come out to face me - Gaunter O'Dimm!"
Rolling black mist mixed with red light emanated from Olgierd's body, and gathered on his arms as his mood fluctuated violently. Finally unable to endure the failures that followed, Olgierd's suppressed negative emotions burst out at this moment, and he punched the floor in front of him fiercely.
Suddenly, the red and black mists seemed to explode in all directions, and the five-pointed candles were all extinguished at this moment. Olgierd was still panting on the ground, unaware of the changes that had taken place in the room.
Until there was a loud "boom", the flames in the fireplace suddenly gushed out as if inspired, and the crossbeams on the study floor glowed red at the same time.
The chaotic energy caused by Olgierd's continuous spells did not dissipate into the air, but ran wild at this moment!
At that moment, it seemed as if countless transparent figures were partying in the house. Books, tables, chairs, and decorations were thrown into the air in a mess; the roof, floor, and walls were also on fire at the same time.
