Chapter 8 My hand was broken, he was shocked

Zhou Bingchen!

The man who protected me and my youngest son for three years in northern Myanmar.

The first year after being kidnapped and sent to northern Myanmar.

That was a few days after I found out I was pregnant again.

I was sent with a group of girls to the soldiers' dormitory on the base for their entertainment.

Everyone knows that coming here and losing one's innocence is only the first step.

What you may lose next may be your kidneys, your eyes, your hands and feet, or even your life.

Listening to the continuous screams of the sisters who were imprisoned with me, I covered my stomach and injured the burly man who was on top of me. The strong maternal love prompted me to want to save the baby in my belly.

As a result, I was beaten with blood all over my face.

In the moment of despair, I saw Zhou Bingchen coming in, surrounded by people in a respectful manner.

His features resembled Ji Linting's very much, which made me subconsciously want to ask him for help.

I rushed to him and knelt down, pulling his trouser legs and begging him to take me away, saying that I was willing to be his woman.

Facing a woman with blood all over her face, everyone was waiting to laugh at me, whispering that I was overestimating myself by trying to get close to the most unfeminine military advisor in the base.

Only then did I realize that his identity was even more important than I had imagined, and more difficult to deal with.

For a moment, I lost all my strength and thought that my child and I were doomed.

Unexpectedly, he gently lifted my chin and forced me to stand up.

Finally, amid the surprised cheers of the crowd, they carried my skinny self on their shoulders and took me away from that chaotic and terrifying dormitory.

From that day on, I became the only woman in the account of this man known as the "cold-faced military advisor" of the base!

I still remember the scene when he threw me onto the bed on our first night together.

He covered me, his narrow and long phoenix eyes covered with frost glanced at the door, then turned his gaze back to me, his deep pupils seemed to have a whirlpool that made me dizzy and trembling.

Unexpectedly, he didn't touch me, but just gave me a look that made me scream with a red face all night long.

Every late night thereafter, he would sit by the bed in a tough and lazy manner, signaling me with his eyes to take off my clothes and put on his favorite red pajamas.

His vague eyes swept over me inch by inch, leaving marks on me like a knife, which made me terrified.

The look on his face as he teased his prey for a long time was far more torturous than him eating me in one bite.

At this moment, he was staring at the little girl on the bed with the same unfathomable look, which made my back chill, and I felt as if there was a maggot attached to my bone, and I was terrified.

Why did he appear in Ji Linting's house and sneak into Ji Nannan's room in the dark?

Before I could even think, I heard the sound of heavy rain hitting the ground outside. My face changed drastically and my heart tightened. I rushed to the balcony and collapsed and yelled, "No, no!"

The rain poured down, instantly wetting half of the balcony.

I tried like crazy to stop the rain from washing away the ashes in the flowerpot, but it was no use. In the end, I could only watch the raindrops as big as beans hitting the flowers, wiping out the only remaining traces of my son. My soul couldn't stop trembling, and I knelt on the ground wailing in pain.

Just when I was in despair, a bony hand appeared in my blurry vision and picked up the pot of flowers.

I looked up blankly, staring at Zhou Bingchen who was holding the flowers in his arms in a daze.

The neon lights outside, divided by the rain, fell on the man's face, giving this usually cold and taciturn man a soft glow.

His usually cold gaze took on an indescribable softness when it touched the potted plants.

It was as if he knew that the contents of the flowerpot were my son's ashes.

He carefully put the flowers into a bag and climbed down from the seventh-floor balcony in the heavy rain.

At this moment, an idea that I had never had before came into my mind.

Could it be that Zhou Bingchen likes me?

So he was willing to protect me in northern Myanmar for three years in the name of the child's father?

But how is that possible?

How could he, such a ruthless and murderous person, be attracted to a mother like me?

I watched his figure nimbly climbing down the stairs getting farther and farther away. I anxiously wanted to follow my son, but I found that no matter how much I jumped, I couldn't escape this home that I once thought was warm but was now extremely cold...

The next day, a sudden scream came from the second bedroom, which startled me out of my memories, even though I had been awake in a daze until dawn.

Qiao Zhixian's reaction was even weirder than mine. She rushed into Ji Linting's room in less than two seconds.

I followed in hurriedly.

Ji Linting fell to the ground in horror, shaking uncontrollably.

Seeing this, Qiao Zhixian hurriedly hugged him to comfort him, "What happened?"

"She... Qiao Chuyuan..." Ji Linting pointed in the direction of the freezer with his eyes wide open. He seemed to be in a trance as if he had been stimulated by something. He stammered for a long time before finding his voice, "Her hand is broken..."

Qiao Zhixian and I both looked into the freezer.

I saw my right arm lying sideways in a weird position with its body bent 90 degrees, looking extremely twisted and creepy.

Ji Linting was still explaining nervously.

"I just...but since she hadn't woken up yet, I wanted to pull her up. But her hands were so fragile after being frozen, they broke with a snap!"

He grabbed Qiao Zhixian's hand as if grasping a lifeline, his face full of fear, "Xianxian, the diary says that she will be resurrected in ten days at most. Now it's been so long, Chuyuan...will she not be able to be resurrected?"

"Is he completely dead?"

I almost laughed out loud when I heard him ask such an innocent question.

Only now did I realize that I might really be dead. I don’t know how such a talented student like him became a doctor.
