The Seven-Star Lamp Brings Life (Part 1)

The Seven-Star Lamp Brings Life (Part 1)

When Wang Qiuyang saw Zhou Ziqiu, she was on her way back from the hospital cafeteria to bring food to Wang Lei. She quickly caught up with Zhou Ziqiu. When she saw Zhou Ziqiu, she was still wondering why he was wearing a high-necked shirt when she saw him twice. Wasn't he hot? It was summer in Luoqi.

"Master Zhou, what brings you here? Weren't you supposed to be dealing with that..."

Zhou Ziqiu chuckled lightly: "It's been resolved. I've come to check on your child's condition."

Upon hearing this, Wang Qiuyang exclaimed in admiration, "You truly deserve to be called a master. You even sent your apprentice here yesterday."

"apprentice?"

"Yes, there was a chubby boy, a boy with glasses, and a very tall and handsome one."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Ziqiu understood that the "disciple" Wang Qiuyang mentioned was probably Wen Su and the other two. But why would Wen Su be here?

Zhou Ziqiu suppressed his doubts, smiled, and did not expose the three people's lies: "It's them, I remember now, but I'm still not at ease, so I came to check again."

The two entered Wang Lei's room. In the brightly lit ward, Wang Lei was lying on the bed sleeping. Although his face was a little pale, Zhou Ziqiu could see that there was no longer any yin energy clinging to Wang Lei's body.

"Wang Lei, Master Zhou has come to see you!"

Just as Wang Qiuyang was about to wake Wang Lei, Zhou Ziqiu quickly stopped her: "Let him sleep. People who are possessed by ghosts will be weak for a while."

"Okay, okay."

Zhou Ziqiu sat on the edge of the bed and reached out to tap Wang Lei's forehead.

"Yes, it has no effect anymore."

After saying that, he took out a red rope in a small transparent bag and handed it to Wang Qiuyang.

“This red string has a small soul-nourishing array drawn on it. Wearing it on your child can help nourish his soul. You can also give him a piece of jade, which can also nourish the soul.”

Wang Qiuyang hurriedly accepted the gift and thanked him profusely.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Zhou Ziqiu left the hospital and prepared to walk back to Liaoyuan Pavilion. However, someone called him again on the way, and he knew from the ringtone that it was Cui Yongle.

"What's wrong?" Zhou Ziqiu's voice was indifferent.

"I've received the news; the request for help was handled very well." Cui Yongle sounded very happy.

The request for help was successfully completed, but Zhou Ziqiu couldn't be happy just thinking about that wicked young man, and his voice didn't have much of an inflection: "Well, did you find out what happened with that man?"

"He's not awake yet. I'll let you know when he does."

"good."

Then he got to the main point of his call: "You're free now, right? Come to Guanxing, I need your help."

"What? What is it now?" Zhou Ziqiu frowned.

"Do you remember what I told you about the Sun family? I want you to come and help me look into something."

"What exactly happened?"

"It's hard to explain over the phone. I'll talk to you when you get there."

So Zhou Ziqiu stopped asking questions, gave a deep reply, and hung up the phone. He then took a taxi back to Yuange and bought a plane ticket to Guanxing on his phone for that day.

Meanwhile, inside the hotel.

Glasses sat cross-legged on the bed, typing on the keyboard. To his left was a specially made compass by Qingdeng, which he compared with the map while looking at the compass. Fatty was eating, while Wen Su leaned against the window with his arms crossed, looking out. For some reason, he looked inexplicably lonely.

Suddenly, Glasses shouted, drawing their attention.

"It's changed! It's changed!"

"What has changed?"

Glasses' words were incoherent, so Wen Su walked over to him and asked him a question. Glasses picked up the compass on the bed and showed it to Wen Su. The compass needle in Glasses' hand changed direction, pointing from north to south!

Wen Su looked at the compass, frowned, and remained silent, as if he were thinking about something.

"What's going on? Did the ghost go back?" the fat man asked curiously as he joined in.

The man with glasses shook his head, indicating that he didn't know.

Wen Su, who hadn't spoken until now, shook his head: "The situation must have changed. Let's go back." After saying that, he started packing his luggage. Fatty and Glasses didn't understand what had happened, but they still followed Wen Su and drove to the airport.

But as he boarded the plane, Wen Su laughed. He looked at the young man next to him with amusement and said in a rather frivolous tone, "Little beauty?"

Zhou Ziqiu had seen Wen Su and the other two board the plane. He prayed that they wouldn't sit next to him, but when Wen Su sat down next to him, Zhou Ziqiu's wish was shattered. Therefore, when he heard Wen Su speak to him, he didn't give him a friendly look and didn't even respond to Wen Su.

They all booked their tickets around the same time, so it's not surprising that they ended up sitting together.

But Wen Su was clearly unaware of being disliked. He smiled and asked Zhou Ziqiu, "Are you also going to Guanxing?"

As the saying goes, one cannot hit a smiling face. Wen Su smiled at him, and Zhou Ziqiu could no longer keep a cold face, so he nodded in response.

Since we're all going to Guanxing and are all in the same profession, we're obviously all doing the same thing. Wen Su extended his hand to Zhou Ziqiu: "I know I'm quite annoying, so it's not surprising that you dislike me. But we'll probably be working together a lot in the future, so let's get to know each other again. My name is Wen Su."

However, Zhou Ziqiu did not immediately grasp Wen Su's hand. He lowered his eyes and looked at Wen Su's outstretched hand a few times before gently taking it and saying, "Qingdeng, Liaoyuan Pavilion, Zhou Ziqiu."

Wen Su smiled at Zhou Ziqiu: "Your hand is healed?"

Zhou Ziqiu pursed his lips and nodded.

Wen Su then said nothing more, released Zhou Ziqiu's hand, leaned back in his chair, and closed his eyes to rest.

However, Zhou Ziqiu quietly changed his opinion of Wen Su. Although his character was bad, his heart did not seem bad. He seemed to be a magnanimous person.

An hour later, the plane arrived in Guanxing from Luoqi. Zhou Ziqiu, Wen Su, and the other two got off the plane, and Qingdeng people were already waiting to pick them up at the airport entrance. Wen Su took advantage of the fact that they didn't have a car and hitched a ride with Zhou Ziqiu to the hotel where the Qingdeng people were staying.

Wen Su booked rooms for Fatty and Glasses, while Zhou Ziqiu followed the staff's directions to the room that Cui Yongle had booked for him in advance. When he entered the room, he saw Cui Yongle waiting for him.

"You've arrived." Cui Yongle nodded to Zhou Ziqiu.

"Hmm." Zhou Ziqiu responded, put the backpack containing the clothes on the ground, sat down on the stool opposite Cui Yongle, and took the initiative to ask, "What's going on?"

Cui Yongle was distressed when the topic of the Sun family came up: "Nothing much happened, but the Sun family's ancestral home caught fire and burned down. Old Mr. Sun was burned the most and has not woken up since. He also lost a lot of his life."

It sounds like a normal thing, but the fact that Cui Yongle was invited over, and even Guan Ying was summoned by him, clearly indicates that there is something fishy going on.

Is there anything else?

Cui Yongle sighed: "Of course, if that were all, I wouldn't have come here. I don't know how the fire started. It burned for several points before it was extinguished. The person who went missing from their house must have been trapped inside. Logically, they should have burned to death, but no matter how hard we searched, we couldn't find the body. The family's spirit tablet was still intact."

At this point, Cui Yongle got angry: "The Sun family is really despicable. They didn't ask for help at the time, and it's been five or six days since it happened before they came to me. They only came because they saw that they couldn't solve it themselves. But what use is it for me to come after so many days? I'm not a god."

“But you still came,” Zhou Ziqiu said, and even called me over.

Cui Yongle sighed again: "I had already refused, but someone told me that a Qingdeng employee went missing a few days ago. I valued that employee, so I came here for him."

Zhou Ziqiu roughly understood what had happened: "So what do you need me to do?"

Cui Yongle looked at him: "This fire is very strange. No matter how we tried to put it out, it wouldn't go out, and people mysteriously disappeared. You know, the Sun family is a family with hundreds of years of history. When the incident happened, they didn't immediately ask for help, obviously thinking they could handle it themselves. But they still couldn't handle it and came to us for help. What does that mean?"

Zhou Ziqiu pursed his lips.

"I see."

“Right now, we don’t need to worry about the Sun family. The priority is to find the employee who went missing from Qingdeng. He’s been missing for eight or nine days now.” Cui Yongle paused. “I want you to openly help me find him, but secretly investigate the fire at the Sun family’s house.”

After a long pause, Zhou Ziqiu nodded.

Cui Yongle understood Cui Yongle's intentions: if they could discover what heinous things the Sun family was doing, they could then use that opportunity to strike them down.

Meanwhile, Wen Su and his two companions, having booked their rooms, returned to their respective rooms.

It was afternoon, and everyone was resting in their rooms, but as night fell...

A head peeked furtively out from the crack in the quietly opened door. After checking that no one was in the corridor, it tiptoed and silently left the hotel.

At the same time, the person in another room suddenly opened his eyes, got up from the bed, and pushed open the door as well. There was no one in the corridor, as if the sound he had just heard was an illusion.

His eyes darkened.

It was late at night, a time when most young people would be partying, but most middle-aged people were already asleep.

Wen Su walked alone on the street, hailed a taxi, gave the taxi driver the location, and quickly left the vicinity of the hotel.

Zhou Ziqiu, who followed Wen Su out, stood quietly watching the departing taxi.

Wen Su was heading to a suburban area, a place rarely visited by people, and now, late at night, it was even more deserted. After paying the fare and getting off the bus, Wen Su walked alone on the dark road with a flashlight. After walking for about ten minutes, he arrived at a mansion. The mansion was not visible in the darkness, but through the few beams of his flashlight, he could still see the blackened walls and collapsed houses.

He went to the Sun family's ancestral home, which had been burned down.

Lowering the police cordon line, Wen Su stretched out his leg and stepped over it.

The smell of burning was overwhelming, and even after seven days, the smell had not dissipated. Although the dilapidated mansion had collapsed, its original structure was still visible. Wen Su carefully avoided the beams that could fall at any moment, holding a flashlight in one hand, and slowly walked towards the south side of the mansion.

The south side of the mansion was the area most severely burned, with ashes everywhere. Wen Su put on rubber gloves, estimated which area might have originally been a hall or room, and stepped inside, squatting down to search through the ruins bit by bit.

Zhou Ziqiu, who had disappeared behind him, frowned deeply upon seeing Wen Su's actions.

What is Wen Su doing here?

Does he know something?
