Chapter 112 No Divorce, Widow Lost?
Daya's miserable state would naturally make the villagers believe her side.
The three of them arrived at the village entrance, where Da Niu and Shu Yu helped Da Ya onto the mule cart.
As soon as the curtain fell, Da Niu, with a stern face, drove the mule cart toward Shangshi Village.
Meanwhile, the Zhang family members were wailing and lamenting. They had originally hoped that the villagers would come in and, with their superior numbers, capture the dead girl so they could take revenge.
As a result, the villagers stood at the door and watched helplessly as the three of them walked away.
They left?
The Zhang family was furious, especially after realizing what Shu Yu had said, they suffered angina.
They could only desperately try to explain, saying that it was Daya's sister who hit them. They didn't hit Daya at all, and the stories about Daya vomiting blood were all fake.
But the villagers didn't believe it. They had seen with their own eyes that Daya was unconscious and had a bloody hole on her forehead.
As for the Zhang family being beaten, they believed it, since the girl herself had said it. Even they, seeing their own daughter beaten half to death by her in-laws, wouldn't be able to control themselves and would retaliate.
But surely they shouldn't have been beaten to the point where they couldn't get up? They were three grown men and three women, beaten like this by a girl who hadn't even reached adulthood yet? That's too far-fetched.
Soon, someone couldn't bear the Zhang family's cries of distress and helped them invite the village doctor to come and treat them.
The doctor's skills were mediocre; he could only diagnose superficial injuries. After a quick glance, he said there was nothing wrong, and the Zhang family was just faking it.
Now things have gotten really bad. Not only did the villagers not help them, they also scolded the Zhang family and dispersed.
Although what happened next was not what Shu Yu expected, the outcome was pretty much what she thought.
She was sitting in the carriage, wiping off the rouge from Daya's face while giving her some soy milk.
But she still didn't throw away the sunflower seed shells in her hair, and when Da Ya tried to pick them up, she even stopped her.
Daya looked at her, puzzled, but Shuyu asked, "Sister, what are your plans next?"
Da Ya was stunned. Plans? She still felt like she was dreaming, how could she have thought about any plans?
“We’ve caused such a scene at the Zhang family’s house today, they won’t let this go so easily. Sister, if you go back, they’ll bully you even more and make you pay for everything that happened to you today.”
Da Ya's body trembled slightly, and Shu Yu quickly hugged her.
"But, but, if I don't go back, where else can I go?" Da Ya's eyes were full of confusion.
Shu Yu grasped her hand. "Where to? Of course, home. Divorce Zhang Shu and go home." It was a pity Zhang Shu wasn't home today, otherwise she could have forced him to agree with a knife right there and then.
"Whoa..." Before Daya could speak, Da Niu, who was driving the cart outside, was so frightened by these words that he immediately pulled on the reins.
He lifted the carriage curtain in disbelief, his eyes wide. "Ayu, what did you say? A divorce? How is that possible?"
"Why is it impossible?" Shu Yu looked up at him and asked, "Do you think she'd survive if she went back?"
Da Niu thought of the Zhang family's faces, pursed his lips, and after a long while, he finally spoke with difficulty, "But, here, I've never heard of anyone getting a divorce. The Zhang family won't agree." They can only divorce a wife. "And if she gets a divorce, Da Ya will be pointed at and talked about by everyone, and she won't be able to face anyone."
Shu Yu didn't think that as long as things were handled properly, even if there were some rumors, it wouldn't be a big problem.
She began to consider the possibility of losing her husband.
