Chapter 1161 The Well-behaved Puppy
Shu Yu gave Ying Xi a wink, and the latter immediately chased after her, learning the Hong family's address from Aunt Hong.
The remaining people in the main room looked at each other in bewilderment. Shu Yu said to them, "You... discuss it first. I'll take the child to wash his face and get something to eat."
She has several younger siblings, and she has experience taking care of her fourth aunt's one-year-old son.
Shu Yu squatted down and spoke to the child in a soft voice, "Your name is Gouwa, right? Let's get to know each other, okay? From now on, you can call me Aunt Lu, okay?"
Doggy didn't react, and Shuyu didn't expect him to answer her. She just carefully touched the hand that wasn't holding the beads. Seeing that he didn't reject it, she gently hooked her arm around it and smiled, "Shall I take you inside to rest for a bit?"
She stood up, took the dog's hand, and walked inside.
Gouwa obediently followed her. Aunt Hong had already disappeared from sight, so he didn't look outside. He quietly lowered his head and walked with Shuyu holding his hand.
Shu Yu lowered her eyes and looked at his little head.
It seems Aunt Hong was right. Although Gouwa doesn't talk, he's very well-behaved and obedient, and he understands what you're saying.
After taking the child back to the room, Shu Yu fetched a basin of warm water, wrung out a soft towel, sat down opposite her, and smiled, "Shall I wash your face and wipe your hands?"
Since Gouwa didn't speak, Shuyu gently wiped his little face and hands.
He was still holding the wooden beads in his right hand. Shu Yu thought for a moment and said to him, "Gouwa, could you switch the beads to your left hand? And then switch them back later?"
Gouwa remained silent for a long time, but Shuyu was very patient and waited for him with a smile.
The child finally let go of her little hand and transferred the bead to her left hand.
Shu Yu gave herself a compliment and helped him wipe his right hand.
Just as he finished wiping, Meng Yunzheng came in carrying a bowl of noodles.
"Other things take a long time to cook, so I went to the kitchen and cooked some noodles."
Shu Yu took the bowl. Meng Yunzheng brought a small bowl with not many noodles in it; she could just refill it when she finished eating.
Shu Yu took a small spoon, scooped up some dough balls, blew on them to cool them down, and fed them to Gouwa.
The child stared blankly for a moment, then looked up at Shu Yu.
Although he seemed to be perfectly normal, his stomach rumbled at just the right moment.
Shu Yu laughed and said, "Look, your tummy is telling you that you want to eat."
Surprisingly, the child's face showed a rare expression of surprise, and he looked down at his stomach.
So, his tummy gurgling was telling him it was time to eat? He never knew that before.
Well then, he can eat it.
Gouwa opened his mouth and took a bite of the dough.
Then he paused for a moment, and opened his mouth quickly the second time.
Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged a glance. Seeing how thin and weak the child was, they knew what kind of life the little guy had lived before.
The food probably wasn't very good either.
Although the bowl of noodles that Meng Yunzheng brought in wasn't much, it was made with fine white flour, making it much softer than the coarse noodles that are hard on the throat, and it was perfect for children.
There was half an egg lying at the bottom. After the dumplings on top were finished, Gouwa obediently ate the egg as well.
After finishing eating, he let out a soft burp.
Shu Yu wiped his mouth and said with a smile, "Looks like you're full. Let's rest for a bit and go to bed early, okay?"
Gouwa still didn't react, he just stared at Shuyu.
