Chapter 125 Burning Eyes
Lu Sanzhu had already found out the address from Da Niu. The first thing he did when he arrived in the county town yesterday was to go to the shop and give some instructions to Zheng Gong and the others in a haughty manner, as if he were the owner.
Fortunately, Engineer Zheng knew Lu Erbai and was familiar with Lu Sanzhu's personality, so he just smiled and didn't say much. The two even chatted for a while.
As Shu Yu got off the mule cart, Lu Sanzhu immediately said, "Then I'll go find someone now."
After saying that, he didn't even go into the shop; he just led the mule cart away.
Shu Yu resisted the urge to roll her eyes and entered the shop.
As expected, Engineer Zheng worked very fast. In just the third day, he had almost finished repairing the fitting rooms and corridors. The remaining details would be dealt with after all the repairs were completed. Now, he began to work on the renovation of the lobby.
Upon seeing Shu Yu approach, Engineer Zheng wiped his sweat and said, "Mr. Lu, take a look and see if the fitting room is alright. As you said, it has good ventilation and decent lighting."
Shu Yu went in and took a look, and it was indeed just as she had imagined.
She nodded in satisfaction and then discussed it with Engineer Zheng for a while.
When they came out again, a young worker suddenly stepped forward and said, "Master Lu, a rather noble young man has come to visit. I don't know what he wants. He's just standing at the door and won't come in. When we ask him questions, he just smiles and shakes his head."
Shu Yu was taken aback, and followed the worker to the shop entrance.
He then looked at the person in front of him with surprise, "Young Master Meng? You've come to see me?"
Meng Yunzheng nodded and looked into the shop.
Shu Yu immediately said, "Come in, have a seat."
Meng Yunzheng smiled at Zheng Gong and the others, his gentle and refined manner making people feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.
Seeing the friendly expressions on Zheng Gong's face, Meng Yunzheng realized that it wasn't his smile that was the problem, but Shu Yu's eyes.
His perfectly timed smile...was flawless.
Shu Yu led Meng Yunzheng to the backyard, which had been partitioned off. Although it was a bit messy, at least there was enough private space.
"Young Master Meng, please sit down. I'll go get you a glass of water."
Meng Yunzheng stopped her and made a gesture.
Shu Yu asked, "Do you want paper and pen?"
Seeing him nod, Shu Yu agreed, "Okay, please wait a moment."
Their communication was indeed inseparable from pen and paper.
Shu Yu quickly brought the items back, but when Meng Yunzheng saw the rough paper and charcoal pencil, his expression cracked.
Shu Yu waved his hand and said, "You'll have to make do. I don't have any brushes, ink, paper, or inkstones prepared here for the time being. This is the paper that Zheng Gong used for drawing dimensions. It's a bit rough, but it's durable."
Meng Yunzheng, “…” Okay.
He took the charcoal pencil, and his fingers were instantly stained black.
He glanced at it and continued writing.
Shu Yu didn't even need to ask; he had already written down his purpose for coming here.
However, Shu Yu initially thought he had encountered some trouble and wanted her help. Little did she know that Meng Yunzheng had written about Zhang Shu.
"You know the man who asked me for directions a few days ago, right?"
Shu Yu frowned, then nodded. "Yes, you... you've seen him again?"
Meng Yunzheng thought Shu Yu was very perceptive, and he nodded slightly.
Shu Yu immediately perked up, "Where did you see him before? What was he doing when you saw him?"
Meng Yunzheng lowered his head and wrote again, 'These past two days, every time I went out, I saw him squatting at my door, watching me. His eyes…'
He paused for a moment, glanced at Shu Yu, and continued writing, 'His eyes burned with passion.'
