Chapter 140 The Two Village Chiefs Meet

Chapter 140 The Two Village Chiefs Meet

Fan Zhong snorted coldly, "I suppose you all know what this bastard did. I won't waste any more words. Our Da Ya has suffered so much injustice, so logically speaking, it would be right to beat this beast to death."

"However, we don't want to cause any bloodshed for Daya. So we've come here to help them get a divorce."

Divorce?

Village Chief Yan frowned, but didn't say much for the time being. He simply smiled and said, "I'm not entirely clear on the details of this matter yet. Perhaps there's some misunderstanding. Why don't we go to the Zhang family first, sit down, and clear things up properly? What do you say?"

Fan Zhong had no objection; he was going to find the Zhang family anyway.

He nodded slightly, and the two groups of people walked together toward the Zhang family's house.

The Zhang family members, unaware of the impending disaster, were currently arguing and blaming each other: "When is Da Ya finally coming back? Look at the mess this house is in, can any of you clean it up?"

"Oh, what's the rush? Do you think the Lu family can support someone like Daya for the rest of her life? Just wait, in two days at most, she'll be begging us to let her in and serve us like a slave."

"We can't let her off easily this time. She should be starved for at least three days and given a beating first. How dare she throw a tantrum at us? She's really gone too far."

As soon as Village Chief Fan and Village Chief Yan reached the gate of the courtyard, they overheard this conversation.

A look of embarrassment flashed across Village Chief Yan's face, Fan Zhong sneered, and Li Shi behind him said, "Like father, like son."

Shu Yu stepped forward and kicked the gate that the Zhang family had painstakingly repaired back into disrepair.

With a loud bang, the familiar sound of the door being broken down startled the Zhang family members in the courtyard, giving them a jolt as if they had been traumatized.

Looking up, I was surprised to see Shu Yu standing outside the door.

The Zhang family member screamed, "What are you doing here?"

Shu Yu looked at him with disdain, but stepped aside slightly to let the two village chiefs and the people behind them walk in one after another.

The Zhang family was stunned, staring in disbelief at the crowd filling the courtyard and the villagers watching the commotion outside.

This time, Old Man Zhang didn't hide behind the women anymore. He quickly stepped forward and asked, "Village...Village Chief, what's going on?"

"What's wrong? Ask your good son." Fan Zhong pushed Zhang Shu, who fell to the ground.

The Zhang family stared in shock at Zhang Shu, who was covered in injuries. Zhang's mother trembled as she stepped forward, knelt on the ground, and cried out, "Third son, what happened to you? Who the hell beat you up like this?"

As she spoke, she angrily raised her head, her gaze finally landing on Shu Yu. "Was it you? Was it you? Village Chief, you have to stand up for our third son! The Lu family is simply lawless. Last time they came to our house and beat us up, and this time they've attacked our third son."

Shu Yu crossed her arms and looked at her coolly, "Sorry, I really didn't hit him this time. You should even thank me, if I hadn't brought him back, he might have already been tied up and drowned."

The Zhang family was shocked. "What nonsense are you talking about? If it's not you, then who is it?"

Shu Yu: "Oh, right, you probably don't know yet, so let me tell you. This morning, something shocking happened in the county town."

Zhang Shu shook his head fiercely, not wanting him to speak, but his mouth was still gagged. Granny Zhang had been so focused on crying that she hadn't even thought to untie him.
