Shu Yu was taken aback and turned her head away. Who would be knocking on the door at this hour?
Aunt He was killing a chicken, her hands covered in blood, so she didn't want to open the door.

After looking Shu Yu up and down, the woman couldn't reconcile the image of the hired woman her husband had mentioned who had come to help with the work.
She muttered under her breath, "Helping with chores? But isn't she a bit too young and too pretty? What is Yunzheng thinking? How can he concentrate on his studies with someone like that around?"

Before Shu Yu could finish speaking, Tao slammed her hand on the table with a loud bang.
Everyone else was startled. Uncle Meng, who had just taken a sip of tea, almost spat it out.
