Chapter 2411, the extra chapter, is a bit ugly.
The old lady watched Mianmian enter the Meng family home before finally turning her gaze away.
After returning to the Meng family, little Mianmian immediately let go of Yingxi's hand and ran towards the study.
"Father, Father, I'm back!"
Meng Yunzheng was writing when he heard this, so he immediately put down his pen. As soon as he opened the study door, Xiao Mianmian ran in with her face flushed.
"Father."
Meng Yunzheng picked up his daughter, carefully wiped her sweat with a handkerchief, and asked with a smile, "Did you have fun?"
"Happy." Mianmian nodded vigorously. "Daddy, what are you doing?"
"Write." Meng Yunzheng pulled her to sit behind the desk, pointed to the characters on it, and asked, "Do you still recognize the characters I taught you yesterday?"
Little Mianmian squinted her eyes, her little face scrunched up, then shook her head and said matter-of-factly, "I don't recognize her."
Yesterday, Daddy taught her so many words, her little head couldn't hold them all. So today, while playing, she spilled some of them.
Meng Yunzheng, “…” Okay, this character does have a few too many strokes, and it’s not easy for a child who is almost three years old to remember it.
"Then will Father teach you again?"
Mianmian shook her head, "Yesterday we learned to read, today we should draw."
Meng Yunzheng laughed loudly, "Okay, whatever you say goes. Let's draw then, and we'll eat after we're done."
The little guy immediately got excited and, as if he knew exactly what to do, pulled out two sheets of drawing paper. He handed one to Meng Yunzheng and unfolded the other in front of himself.
Meng Yunzheng placed her on a high stool beside him. This stool was hers, made by Lu Erbai based on a children's dining chair drawn by Shu Yu. The height of the chair was the same as the desk, and the front tray could be removed directly, so that she could lay her drawing paper on Meng Yunzheng's desk and draw side by side with him.
Meng Yunzheng moved his chair to the side, making room for him.
Mianmian quickly sat up, spread out the paper, grabbed the pen, and began to dip it in ink.
Meng Yunzheng raised an eyebrow, "You've already decided what to draw so quickly?"
“I have some ideas today,” Mianmian replied without looking up.
Meng Yunzheng laughed out loud, "Okay, then draw out all your ideas."
After saying that, he stopped paying attention to her and started grinding his own ink.
In the spacious study, the father and daughter each occupied half a table, neither disturbing the other, each concentrating intently on their own drawing.
Xiao Mianmian was quite quick. After finishing her drawing, she admired it for a while before turning her little head to look at Meng Yunzheng's drawing.
As she looked at it, she frowned. Father's painting… it was really ugly. Dark and murky, with lines that looked like earthworms. It couldn't compare to her own colorful drawings. Ah, no wonder Mother told Father to paint less; now she knew.
Xiao Mianmian looked as if she had suddenly realized something.
After finishing the last stroke, Meng Yunzheng stood there admiring the drawing for a moment, just like his daughter, before taking out a stamp from the drawer and stamping it on a corner of the paper.
Little Mianmian's eyes lit up. "Huh, do I need to cover this up after I finish drawing?"
Meng Yunzheng put down the seal, looked up, and met his daughter's round eyes.
He immediately smiled, "Finished drawing?"
"Uh-huh."
"Father, can you take a look?"
Ignoring the vibrant colors on his clothes, the little guy handed his prized masterpiece to Meng Yunzheng and quietly awaited his praise.
Meng Yunzheng's first impression was, "...". A bit ugly.
