Chapter 249 Bumped into an Old Lady
Shu Yu was relieved. As expected, Doctor Zhao, who wasn't stupid, was much more useful than a fool.
Dr. Zhao exhaled, but suddenly felt a gaze behind him that had inexplicably turned cold.
He couldn't help but glance back and saw Meng Yunzheng with a sullen face, looking rather unhappy.
Zhao Xi, “…” Why do I feel like my life is in danger?
He quickly said to Shu Yu, "Then, then I'll go back and get it for you right now?"
"Okay, thank you."
Zhao Xi turned and walked out. Meng Yunzheng stood up, pursed his lips, and silently looked at her.
Shu Yu turned her head and met his gaze with a puzzled look. "Young Master Meng, is there anything else you want to ask me?"
After confirming that she didn't need his help, Meng Yunzheng felt a strange tightness in his chest and strode after Zhao Xi.
Zhao Xi had already opened the courtyard gate, and just as the two were about to leave, they almost bumped into the old lady who was about to enter.
The old lady stared in astonishment at the two people who had appeared in her yard, almost unable to hold back her cries.
Fortunately, she recognized Meng Yunzheng immediately and breathed a sigh of relief, asking curiously, "You are...Young Master Meng? Are you here to see Ayu?"
Zhao Xi immediately got back into character, chuckling foolishly.
Meng Yunzheng also became aware of his status as a mute.
Hearing the commotion, Shu Yu inside rushed out and introduced her to the old lady, "Grandma, this is Doctor Zhao, the one I told you about last time."
The old lady suddenly realized that Dr. Zhao was the benefactor who had saved her son and granddaughter, but he had a mental problem and was now acting foolishly, which was truly pitiful.
Shu Yu then explained why the two were there: "Last time I helped Doctor Zhao and gave him some pastries, so he remembered me. When he saw me just now, he wanted to come back with me, so I brought him inside to have some candy. Young Master Meng came to take him home."
Meng Yunzheng nodded in agreement.
The old lady suddenly realized, "So that's how it is." She patted Dr. Zhao's head affectionately, "It's alright, Dr. Zhao, you can come over whenever you want. We have Da Hu and San Ya at home, you won't be lonely."
After saying that, he instructed Meng Yunzheng, "If you ever have to go out and can't take care of him, just leave him at our house and I'll look after him for you."
Zhao Xi smiled on the surface, but inside he almost vomited blood.
Meng Yunzheng put on his familiar, warm smile, nodded sincerely, and silently thanked the old lady.
Then, he took the fool Zhao Xi with him and left, his mood noticeably better than before.
The old lady stood at the door, watching the two leave, and sighed, saying, "Poor young men, what will they do in the future? Doctor Zhao is unconscious anyway, but I'm afraid that young master Meng will not even be able to find a wife."
He himself is mute, and he has a simple-minded person by his side. Although he is quite handsome, no decent girl wants to marry him.
Shu Yu forced a smile and gave a dry laugh. "Grandma, let's go inside first."
The old lady turned around as she was pulled into the yard, muttering that it was a pity.
Shu Yu closed the courtyard gate before asking, "Grandma, where did you go just now?"
The old lady snapped out of her reverie, suddenly clasped her hands together, and her face lit up with excitement. "Oh dear, I almost forgot! I came back to tell you some good news."
