Chapter 258 The Jiang Family's Aftermath
When Meng Yunzheng came over, he nodded slightly to her again and then left on his own.
Shu Yu laughed and walked towards Liufang Lane with a relaxed feeling.
Instead of going home, she went straight into the Meng family's house when she saw that there were few people in Liufang Lane.
Meng Yunzheng returned first and, knowing she would come, poured her a glass of water.
Shu Yu gulped down her drink before sitting down opposite him and asked with great interest, "How did it go? Did they start fighting?"
Meng Yunzheng chuckled, "They didn't fight. Jiang Li was so angry that he fainted."
Shu Yu exclaimed, "Huh?" She hadn't expected that Young Master Jiang's tolerance for stress was so low.
Meng Yunzheng then began to recount everything that had happened at the Jiang residence, including the reactions of Jiang Ren, Jiang Li, and Jiang's father.
"I think your plan is perfect."
The Jiang family is about to undergo a major upheaval.
Shu Yu waved her hand, feigning modesty, "Look at what you're saying. I just started a fire. The main problem is that their internal conflicts are too deep. Whatever the consequences are, it's none of my business. I didn't do anything."
Zhao Xi curled his lip and said, "Yeah, you didn't do anything. You just smashed Jiang Li's head, put poison in Doctor Liu's medicine, and wrote a note to sow discord... that's all."
When he first met this girl a year ago, how could he not have known that she was so scheming?
"Dr. Zhao." Just as Zhao Xi was mentally ranting, Shu Yu suddenly turned around and called out to him.
Zhao Xi subconsciously sat up straight, coughed, and asked, "W-what's wrong?"
Shu Yu looked at him suspiciously. What was wrong? He couldn't even speak properly.
She asked, "How effective is your medicine? Jiang Li fainted once; will it be less effective when he wakes up?"
"Impossible. My medication will last at least three days next time."
"That's good." Then she was relieved.
Next, we'll just have to wait and see what the Jiang family does.
Just as Shu Yu had predicted, Jiang Li indeed stopped coming to see her after that day.
Jiang Li's temper grew increasingly volatile, especially since the murderer hadn't been caught yet, leading him to suspect that Jiang Ren had done it on purpose. He would harass Jiang Ren as soon as he woke up, and whenever he had a chance, he would hurl insults at him.
He seemed to have lost his mind, not only cursing Jiang Ren, but also his wife, and even hitting Jiang Ren's child.
Jiang Ren had long been fed up with him, but he kept backing down because of his parents. However, Jiang Li had clearly crossed his bottom line, and Jiang Ren decided to fight back.
This counterattack was quite something; Jiang's parents, who had originally wanted to mediate between the two sides, instantly sided with Jiang Li.
They felt that Jiang Li had already suffered an undeserved misfortune, so it was fine if he was a little short-tempered. As the eldest brother, they should just bear with it and there was no need to take it too seriously.
The conflict between the two brothers quickly escalated into a war between father and son, and mother and son.
All the unresolved problems from the past were brought to the surface, and Jiang Yi was almost dragged into it.
Fortunately, Jiang Yi separated from the family early on, and since the separation had been unpleasant with his family, no one said anything about him staying out of trouble this time.
The problems in the Jiang family are getting more and more serious, to the point that Jiang's father has threatened to change the heir.
He felt that Jiang Ren had become too independent and started to disobey his parents. Now that he had already defied them, they would not be able to rely on him at all when they got old.
Therefore, Jiang's parents decided to leave the family business to Jiang Li.
