Chapter 501 The Messenger

Chapter 501 The Messenger

Although it wasn't exactly an elegant or dignified act, Meng Yunzheng found it surprisingly appetizing.

He had already eaten, but every time he brought food to Shuyu at night and watched her eat, he felt hungry, so he inevitably had an extra late-night snack when he got back.

It's only been a few days, and he already feels like he's gained some weight.

It seems he'll have to postpone dinner another day so he won't have to eat four meals.

Shu Yu was unaware of her potential as a mukbang streamer. Seeing that Meng Yunzheng didn't speak, she looked up at him and asked hesitantly, "Vegetarian dishes...aren't they difficult to prepare?"

Meng Yunzheng shook his head, "Of course not. It was my oversight. I was only thinking that you didn't eat well during the day and needed more oily food at night. Here's what you want to eat, tell me the night before, and I'll bring it to you tomorrow night."

Shu Yu waved her hand, "No need, no need. We're on the road anyway, it's not easy to get something to eat, and we don't have the facilities to let people order. Just do whatever is convenient."

Meng Yunzheng thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

Shu Yu then lowered her head and ate the braised pork knuckle. After finishing, she quickly rinsed her mouth with water, wiped her hands and mouth clean, and fanned herself.

He then said goodbye to Meng Yunzheng and returned to his room, where he slept soundly.

The next day, Shu Yu was much more energetic than the others.

The exiled caravan left the post station, and no one knew that that very night, a man arrived at the post station at breakneck speed. As soon as he entered, he inquired about the Shu family's exiled caravan.

Hearing that they had left early this morning, the man sighed in annoyance and pressed the envelope he was holding to his chest.

This person was the one sent by Xiang Weinan to deliver a message to Shu Yu. Shu Yu and the others were on foot, but this person was on horseback. Although he set off several days later, he quickly caught up with them.

It looks like it should be delivered tomorrow, or at the latest the day after tomorrow. Anyway, he'll see the person before the Lu family.

After reading the letter, Miss Lu was able to prepare herself mentally.

The man ate and rested for the night.

However, no one knows whether tomorrow or an accident will come first.

When the man woke up the next day, the sky was overcast, and huge raindrops were pattering on the ground.

However, this little bit of rain was nothing to him; he put on his raincoat and led his horse out of the post station.

Unexpectedly, a carriage rushed in to take shelter from the rain and was moving quite fast, heading straight for him.

The carriage didn't hit him, but the horses beside him were startled and kicked him.

The man lay on the ground, looking utterly hopeless. He was carried inside by the carriage owner and the people at the post station, and then remained unconscious for two days.

It was three or four days later when he tried to catch up with the exiles again.

Compared to him, the Lu family had it much easier.

Before Lu Erbai set off, he bought another mule cart.

If the four adults and two children travel light and slowly, a mule cart would certainly be enough.

But now they were carrying a lot of luggage, as well as food, clothing and supplies for the journey, and things prepared for Shuyu.

One mule cart was simply not enough, so they gritted their teeth and bought another one.

There were two mule carts, but only Lu Erbai knew how to drive them, and he had a leg ailment before.

Fortunately, they were accompanied by three bodyguards: two men and one woman.
