Chapter 651 Hou Shi Leaves
Hou pulled the sixth daughter and turned to leave the main room. When they reached the courtyard, they saw Aunt Xue hiding in the woodshed with a gloating expression.
She ignored her and picked up the bundle from the ground.
The second master took a few steps forward and said, "Madam Hou, you should think this through. If you step out of this door today, it won't be so easy for you to come back next time. If you are willing to admit your mistake and obediently serve the rest of the family, I can give you another chance."
Hou Shi never had deep feelings for the Second Master. She married him in the first place in order to escape from the brothel.
Who knew that leaving the brothel wouldn't save him from exile, and his fate was just as bad.
The only comfort is having a loving daughter.
So, she felt no unease about leaving the Second Master; in fact, she couldn't wait to leave right now.
It's a pity that all the food she had saved up was eaten by those bastards.
Hearing the Second Master's furious voice behind her, Madam Hou left without turning her head and took the Sixth Miss with her.
Second Master and the others were speechless. She actually left. Did she think the Lu family would take her in for life?
The Hou mother and daughter left cleanly and decisively, but once they were outside the courtyard, the sixth daughter still couldn't stop crying.
She was different from Hou Shi; that was her father.
Before the Shu family fell into ruin, her father loved her very much and would always think of her when he got something good.
She felt terrible that things had turned out this way.
But if she really had to choose between her parents, she would naturally stand on her mother's side without hesitation.
Hou did not try to persuade her, letting her vent her frustrations.
She planned to go directly to the estate. Since they could no longer stay here, she would tell Lord Cheng that they would go to the post station today.
She initially thought that she still had more than half a day left, and that when Shu Yu returned, they could get together and say goodbye. She didn't know when they would meet again after this separation.
Now it's impossible to get what she wants, but fortunately, Lord Cheng and the others plan to wait for Shu Yu to return from hunting. She will then go directly to the manor, so they can at least see her before she leaves.
However, Hou suddenly stopped halfway through.
The sixth daughter looked up, sobbing, "Mother, what's wrong?"
“These past few days, the old lady from the Lu family has been taking care of us, and she even brought us warm clothes and a lot of food. Since we’re leaving, it’s only right and proper for us to say goodbye to her. Let’s go to the Lu family’s house first.”
The sixth girl nodded, and the two immediately turned around.
As they turned into the Lu family's gate, they were unaware that someone was following them.
Shu Feng looked up at the house not far away, and sneered. So this was the Lu family's place. He made a mental note of it.
Once the gate to the Lu family's courtyard was closed, Shu Feng stopped paying attention and turned to go in another direction.
After walking a few steps, a voice suddenly came from behind, "Big brother, where are you going?"
Shu Feng turned around and saw Shu Quan catching up in a few steps. "I couldn't see you for a moment. What are you doing here?"
"I plan to go into the mountains to take a look."
Shu Quan was stunned, surprised. "Go into the mountains? Now?"
"Hmm." Shu Feng looked up at the distant mountain peaks, as if he could still hear the sounds of wild beasts in his ears. "You heard what Aunt Xue said too. Working in the wasteland is meaningless for us. It's tiring and doesn't yield much. But going into the mountains is different."
