Chapter 686 Carpenter Yao was driven away
Lu Erbai smiled. Perhaps it was because Ayu had been found and her worries were over, and things were getting better and better at home.
But to be honest, among the grandchildren, the old lady truly loves Ayu the most.

The two walked toward the county government office while talking.

Shu Yu said, "Dad, wait here for me for a while, I'll go ask."
Before Lu Erbai could react, she had already taken a few quick steps forward and stood directly in front of the guard.
The guard naturally recognized her. He had just seen Lu Erbai lingering outside for a long time, acting rather strangely. If he hadn't seen that Miss Lu was with him, he probably would have gone up to question her.
Upon seeing Shu Yu approach, he nodded slightly, "Miss Lu."
Shu Yu smiled and said, "Brother, let me ask if anyone came here looking for Lord Cheng or Mr. Qi just now?"

"Is the Yao family's house far from here?"

So the two decided to go to the Yao family's house.
As soon as they arrived at the Yao family's door, they heard a woman crying inside.
Shu Yu and Lu Erbai exchanged a glance, and the latter immediately went forward to knock on the door.
A moment later, a young man a few years older than Shu Yu came out and opened the door. Upon seeing Lu Erbai, the man gave a wry smile and said, "Uncle Lu."
Lu Erbai was shocked to see his slightly red eyes. "What's wrong? What happened?"
The man stepped aside. "Uncle Lu, please come in first."
Shu Yu followed Lu Erbai into the room and saw an older woman leaning against a younger woman, crying and trembling.
She looked around but didn't see Carpenter Yao.
That's...strange.
