Chapter 758 Feigning Fainting

Chapter 758 Feigning Fainting

As Shu Yu spoke, she glanced at Cheng Dong out of the corner of her eye and saw him move his head slightly.

He was still awake, as expected.

She spoke to Madam Hou with even greater seriousness, "Madam Hou, we'll need your help to keep this place a secret. We need to make sure no one notices there's someone in this room. If anyone comes looking for us, whoever they are, please warn us beforehand, okay?"

"Alright, I'll naturally help your brother's friend. You can rest here without worry. Just let me know if you need anything. Although I haven't been at this post station for long, there are still quite a few things I can decide."

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu knew that Madam Hou and the Sixth Miss were doing quite well working at the post station.

She smiled and watched Hou leave.

Then he walked to the bedside and softly called Cheng Dong, "Guard Cheng, Guard Cheng?"

Cheng Dong remained silent, as if he had already fallen into a deep sleep.

But Shu Yu knew he wasn't, but since he was going to pretend, she would just play along.

She unfolded the blanket at the foot of the bed and draped it slightly over his sitting body, then looked him over again. "I wonder where Guard Cheng's injuries are, and how serious they are. Sigh, we can't leave him without seeing a doctor. The hemostatic medicine my brother left behind is effective, but there's not much left."

Shu Yu looked like she had a headache, and called him softly, "Guard Cheng?"

Seeing that the person was still unconscious, they became worried. "Has something happened?"

She stretched out her left index finger, trembling slightly, and reached under his veil to check if he was breathing.

Cheng Dong then spoke up, "I'm fine."

Shu Yu was startled and quickly withdrew her index finger, letting out a long breath.

I know you're alright. You're really resilient; you're still not dizzy.

Cheng Dong wanted to faint, but he didn't dare to. He could only pinch his wound repeatedly to keep himself awake.

He said to Shu Yu, "Miss Lu, don't worry, my injuries are nothing serious, I just need to rest more. You can go out now, please keep watch outside."

He ultimately used the hemostatic medicine Shu Yu had given him. He only had two choices: either bleed to death or trust Shu Yu. He felt that stopping her car was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and that Lu Shu Yu wasn't so resourceful as to have prepared problematic hemostatic medicine in the car beforehand.

Now that the bleeding has stopped, as long as I rest well, I should be able to regain some strength.

"Okay, I'm relieved to see you're alright."

Shu Yu indeed went out. She closed the door, moved a stool, and sat down to guard the entrance.

After holding on for a few more moments, Cheng Dong finally lost control and fainted.

Shu Yu clearly heard the noise coming from inside the house, but she remained standing at the door without moving.

She was indeed unconscious, but someone like Cheng Dong, even in a near-faint state, would likely remain highly vigilant and extremely uneasy. If she were to go in and do anything to him now, Cheng Dong would instinctively try to kill her at any moment.

However, when he fainted, Shu Yu knew about his physical condition.

It seems there are quite a few wounds under the clothes.

Hou came over and brought her a bowl of noodles. "It's almost noon. Are you hungry? Have a bowl of noodles to fill your stomach."

"Thank you." Shu Yu smiled and took it, ate a couple of bites, and then began to ask about her life at the post station.

The two chatted casually, neither of them mentioning the people inside the house.
