Chapter 950 Lu Sanzhu is Terrified
Da Niu followed her downstairs.
As soon as the two of them went down, they saw Lu Sanzhu sitting on the ground, staring straight ahead.
Shu Yu turned her head and looked over. In the dim light from the cellar entrance above, a thin old man, over fifty years old, sat not far in front of her, leaning against the corner of the wall, staring wide-eyed and motionless, which was quite eerie.
The cellar didn't smell good, but among the various odors in this space, the stench of corpses was particularly strong.
This person has probably been dead for several days.
Shu Yu took out a tinderbox and blew on it twice, and the light became much brighter, and the cellar was no longer as cold and damp as before.
With Da Niu's help, Lu Sanzhu finally stood up, trembling. He wasn't actually afraid of dead people, but the scene was just too terrifying.
Shu Yu took a tinderbox and walked towards the corpse, wanting to confirm its location. Da Niu quickly stopped her, "Don't go, I, I'll go take a look."
After saying that, he took the tinderbox from Shu Yu's hand without giving her a chance to explain.
Da Niu felt a chill run down his spine, but he couldn't let his sister go ahead of him.
A moment later, he turned around with a serious expression and said to the two of them, "The person is dead."
Shu Yu, "..." How should I put it? She just took her finger and checked under his nose, and there was no breath, so she confirmed it?
However, after watching for so long, even without going up to him, Shu Yu knew that this person had indeed been murdered.
Just then, Jiang Gongzi's voice came from the cellar entrance, "Miss Lu, how are you? Are you alright?"
"It's alright, we'll come up right away."
Shu Yu went up to the cellar first, followed closely by Lu Sanzhu, and Da Niu came out last.
When he came out, Shu Yu had already explained the situation inside the cellar.
Young Master Jiang frowned deeply. He sent someone down to confirm, and also had Uncle Hu check it out.
When Uncle Hu came up, his face was grim. "It really is Old Cui. He's been dead for two days."
Upon hearing this, the onlookers erupted in an uproar. Old Cui was dead? And, he died in his own cellar?
They lived so close by, yet they didn't even notice the person had been dead for two days.
No wonder I haven't seen Old Cui come out these past few days. I thought he was like everyone else, unable to pay rent and hiding at home because he was in a bad mood. Who knew he would die?
"How did you die?" Young Master Jiang asked.
Uncle Hu said, "I was stabbed twice, once in the leg and once in a vital spot."
Young Master Jiang took a deep breath and turned to his attendant, "Go report to the authorities. Don't move either of the corpses yet."
After he finished speaking, he waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave.
"Stop crowding around here. If you disturb the scene, the authorities will hold you accountable. Get out of here."
He was the first to walk out the door, and the villagers, upon hearing this, glanced back at the cellar and then retreated.
However, someone still ran back and found a white cloth, which was then placed over Old Cui's body.
Young Master Jiang glanced at the woman being held in Ying Xi's hand, his brows furrowing.
The man named Li Xiaoshan was killed by this woman. But who killed Old Man Cui will only be known after the authorities have investigated.
Young Master Jiang was somewhat troubled. A murder had occurred near the manor, resulting in the deaths of two people, which everyone considered an ominous sign.
Especially since the buyer caught them red-handed, he's afraid he won't be able to sell his estate.
Thinking of this, Young Master Jiang couldn't help but look at Shu Yu, "Miss Lu, today's incident has frightened you. I'll have someone keep an eye on things here, you..."
