Chapter 955 Changes in the Black Market
Shu Yu was stunned for a moment, "You..."
Young Master Jiang looked up at the mountain. "You want to go to that forest, right? I'll go too. I'm still the owner of the estate. I can't just ignore Xiaoya'er's disappearance."
Shu Yu stared at him for a moment and understood. Young Master Jiang must also know what that place was for.
This black market isn't exactly a secret; it's just that ordinary people don't know about it, but the wealthy families in Jiangyuan County are all aware of it.
Young Master Jiang is a large landowner. He can persist in experimenting with a hundred acres of land that doesn't yield a very good harvest for four or five years, so he is obviously not short of money.
Moreover, the black market was only two kilometers away from his estate; it would be strange if he didn't know about it.
Therefore, Shu Yu did not refuse him. She turned to Da Niu and Lu Sanzhu and said, "You two stay here and explain the situation to the officials when they come later. Also, keep an eye on the Tang family."
After saying that, he told Yingxi to set off.
Da Niu chased after it, but only managed to catch a glimpse of the mule cart's back.
He couldn't help but frown, and Lu Sanzhu patted him on the shoulder, "What are you doing?"
“I should have gone with them, otherwise it would be just A-Yu and Young Master Jiang, just the two of them…” Now that so many people have seen it, it wouldn’t be good for A-Yu if word got out.
Lu Sanzhu didn't seem to care. "So what? Isn't there a servant named Yingxi or Yingbei following us?"
Da Niu thought about it and agreed, "It's better if it's not just the two of us."
So he went back into the courtyard and looked at Madam Tang with a serious expression.
Shu Yu and Young Master Jiang walked slowly, but even at their slowest pace, they didn't see any trace of Xiao Ya'er.
Shu Yu had actually prepared for the worst, but she was still somewhat unwilling to accept it.
Before long, the mule cart arrived at Zhulinkou.
Shu Yu got out of the car and went straight up the steps.
But before they had gone far, they discovered that this forest was different from the one they had seen last time. It seemed that... there were more guards, and the security was much tighter.
Shu Yu was puzzled and took a few more steps up, but was stopped by someone.
The visitor glanced at the two of them and asked, "Do you two have something to discuss upstairs?"
Shu Yu suppressed his surprise and quickly said, "We're here to look for someone. I wonder if you've seen a little girl who looks about five years old. She's the child of a tenant farmer in the village ahead. She ran away two days ago after something happened, and her whereabouts are unknown now."
The man pursed his lips, paused for a moment, and nodded. "I've met you before."
Shu Yu and Young Master Jiang's faces lit up with joy. "Where is it?"
"Two days ago, just as dawn broke, that little girl did come here, but we chased her away. She went that way. If you're looking for someone, you might as well look that way. Don't go up there; entry is prohibited."
"They chased them away?" Shu Yu took a deep breath, almost unable to hold back her swearing.
She gritted her teeth, turned around and left, and Young Master Jiang quickly followed.
Following the guard's instructions, the two walked towards the foot of the mountain on the left. After taking a few steps, Shu Yu looked back and saw that there were two more guards watching them warily.
She asked Young Master Jiang, "The entrance here seems different from when I came last time. Do you know why?"
"You don't know?" Young Master Jiang was surprised. He thought that if she knew about the black market, she should also know the reason.
Shu Yu shook her head. "To be honest, I left Jiangyuan County last year for some business and only returned a few days ago. I really don't know about the changes that have taken place here."
