Chapter 2335 Set a Fire

Chapter 2335 Set a Fire

The young lady of the house, who was about to push the door open, indeed put her hand down. "It's all because Song Juanmei was lazy. She didn't even light the calming incense for me, which made me wake up in the middle of the night and toss and turn, unable to fall back asleep. I'm going to settle the score with her."

The young lady of the house said with some dissatisfaction, "I don't know what she's doing. I just heard some clanging and banging coming from her room."

As she was about to push the door open, she was stopped halfway by the young master of the house. "It's good that you can't sleep. Come on, your older brother has something good to show you."

The young lady of the house was indeed distracted and followed the young master away. "Big brother, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" After asking this, she hesitated and then added, "Why are you near Song Juanmei's room? You don't have feelings for her, do you? The noise from her room just now..."

The voices faded into the distance, and Wei Qin remained silent. Firstly, she had been stabbed twice and was in too much pain to scream. Secondly, the person who killed her was the young master of the shop, and his men lived in the backyard of the shop. Although she usually served the young lady of the shop, the young lady had never treated her badly. If anything happened, she would definitely side with the young master.

Wei Qin knew that if she kept silent, she might still live, but if she made a sound and led someone into the door, she would only face certain death.

"So, this young master is afraid that the young lady will find out that he killed you?" Shu Yu asked.

Wei Qin hummed in agreement, paused, and then said, "It's not so much that I'm afraid. The young lady of the house is impulsive and a bit... not very bright. If she finds out, it could very well ruin the young master's plans. So he keeps a lot of things from her, including his meeting with that murderer."

Actually, Wei Qin's statement was a bit too polite. Strictly speaking, this young lady was the kind of person who was both stupid and wicked.

"So you took the opportunity to escape after that young master left?"

"Yes, I set a fire and ran away."

Wei Qin knew very well that although the young master of the house had gone out, as long as he could appease the young lady, he would immediately come back to check if she was dead.

Despite being in so much pain that she almost fainted, Wei Qin forced herself to get up, lit the tinderbox, and set the quilt, mattress, and curtains on fire.

He then threw the tinder out the other window, landing it directly on the straw pile in the woodshed next door.

He then desperately climbed out of the window that the young master of the house had climbed over, which was still open.

Sure enough, just as he climbed out of the window, the door opened and the young master of the house returned.

The house was on fire, especially the firewood under the shed in the neighboring woodshed, which was burning fiercely. The flames were so intense that they leaped high, blocking the young master of the house from entering.

He wanted to see if anyone was still in the room, but the servants who heard the noise had already come out and, upon seeing the burning room, immediately pulled the young master of the house out.

Wei Qin slipped out of the backyard while everyone was putting out the fire.

She often goes out to buy groceries and do laundry, and she has a key to the backyard, so she can easily open the door and go out.

She had been stabbed twice, and it was her limit to hold on until she got out of the alley. Her limbs were weak, her head was spinning, and her vision was blurry. She was afraid she would collapse before she could even walk out of the alley.

She just collapsed in the alley, completely oblivious. The young master of the house could find her as soon as he came out, and all her efforts would have been in vain.
