Chapter 25: Er Ya has been found?

Chapter 25: Er Ya has been found?

Shu Yu boarded the oxcart, placed the rice and flour on the cart, and then slowly drove towards Shangshi Village.

Despite being a shy and introverted person, Da Niu is surprisingly good at business.

Along the way, we picked up several villagers who were also heading towards Shangshi Village, and charged each of them one coin for the fare.

After all, even though the oxcart was borrowed, a rental fee still had to be paid, which would cost ten coins for a round trip.

The old lady was heartbroken over the rent.

Da Niu earned four coins on his way back and was quite happy.

The oxcart arrived at Shangshi Village, where only Da Niu, Shu Yu, and another woman from Shangshi Village remained on board.

As soon as they entered the village, villagers ran up to them and asked, "Da Niu, you're back? Where are your grandma and your second uncle?"

Da Niu paused for a moment, then said, "My second uncle is in the county town getting treatment for his leg and can't come back for the time being. My grandma is taking care of him there. What's wrong, Aunt Fang?"

"Oh dear, something's happened to your second uncle's family."

Before Da Niu could speak, Shu Yu frowned and asked, "What happened?"

Aunt Fang didn't even notice who was asking the question, and immediately replied, "That old woman from the Ruan family is here again. This time she brought a girl back with her. She says it's the second girl she took away and sold years ago. Now she's found her and she's at your second uncle's house right now."

"What?!" Shu Yu jumped off the oxcart abruptly. "You mean Er Ya was brought back by her?"

Aunt Fang then noticed that her attitude was off, and just nodded subconsciously, "Yes, yes."

Shu Yu immediately said to Da Niu, "Bring the things back for me, I'll go take a look first."

Without waiting for a reaction, he headed straight for the Lu family's house.

Da Niu didn't even realize what was happening. By the time he came to his senses, Shu Yu had vanished without a trace.

He didn't care about anything else and quickly pulled the oxcart into the village.

When Shu Yu arrived at the Lu family's house, a large number of villagers had already gathered outside.

She spotted Lu Laosan and his wife, who were leaning against the front of the courtyard gate watching the commotion.

Shu Yu's lips twitched. She squeezed through the crowd, and the scene in the courtyard was immediately clear.

An elderly woman with slightly graying hair sat on a stool, wiping her eyes and crying. She sobbed, “My child, I’m so sorry. I was out of my mind back then, which is why I did those evil things and made you suffer for so many years. For the past ten years or so, you haven’t had any contact with your family. It’s been so hard for me.”

Ruan was completely dazed. Da Hu and San Ya stood on either side of her. San Ya held Ruan's hand tightly, clearly afraid of the old woman.

Da Hu pursed his lips tightly, glancing at Ruan Shi one moment and the old woman the next.

The old woman was still crying, her voice quite loud. "All these years, I've been trying my best to make amends, but I know that unless I find Er Ya, you will never forgive me, and I wouldn't have the face to come to your door. Now it's all right, Er Ya has been found, you and your daughter are reunited, and we can make up again."

As she spoke, the old woman pushed a thin girl next to her forward, "This is Er Ya, your daughter. Son, look at yourself, doesn't she look a lot like you and your son-in-law?"

Shu Yu squinted and glanced at the girl.

It looks like a fart; not a single eye, nose, or mouth is the same.

Ruan Shi also looked up blankly at the girl.

The girl suddenly rushed forward and knelt down in front of Madam Ruan with a thud. She looked up and cried out, "Mother, your daughter has finally found you!"
