Chapter 17: Trending for its Bizarre Posture

"It's cancelled." The cat said without even blinking.

Jiu Yebai, however, had a knowing look on his face, knowing that the cat was just having a whim and that farming was absolutely out of the question.

Two days later, on Monday.

At eight o'clock sharp, Dr. Ye arrived at the Jiu family villa on time. This time he brought a full set of silver needles. After administering acupuncture to Jiu Xintian, he once again gave her instructions on what to pay attention to.

"Has Grandma still not invited me to play?" the cat asked him.

Dr. Ye simply smiled and said, "I'm only responsible for Miss's legs."

He spoke gently and politely, but the cat suddenly realized that this matter had nothing to do with him.

I thought to myself, I won't ask him anymore.

She wanted to know if she could see Ah Jin, but she couldn't call because she couldn't keep her promise to bring the peaches to her grandmother.

After Dr. Ye left, Jiu Yebai came downstairs.

Today he was dressed in a casual outfit in the style of a jersey, with sleeveless shorts and a baseball cap.

She pulled the brim of her hat back over her head, revealing her bright and beautiful face.

It's no exaggeration to say she's beautiful! She has phoenix eyes and a small widow's peak on her smooth forehead.

A couple of days ago, this guy looked gloomy, but after changing his outfit, he turned into a pretty boy.

The cat suddenly came closer to the mirror.

"What are you looking at?" Jiu Yebai asked her.

"Do you look like me?" the cat said.

Jiu Yebai immediately leaned over, and two magnified faces were reflected in the dressing mirror. "Do they look alike?"

The cat pointed to his eyes, "No, you have a pair of foxy eyes, alluring."

Smoke was visibly billowing from the top of Jiu Yebai's head, almost causing it to explode. Was it the allure of a ghost? Bewitching?!

"But he's quite handsome, silly little brother," the cat said again, patting his head as she did so.

She finds having a younger brother quite novel and fun, like right now, he's even smoking.

The sensation on his head... caused Jiu Yebai to instantly deflate.

The cat walked away, but he looked at himself in the mirror for a while longer, thinking that the cat was right. These eyes were inherited from his father's strong genes. Not only him, but his whole family looked like this.

However, the cat's eyes were different; they resembled a crescent moon.

Perhaps her biological mother's genes were more dominant?

Cat wore a pure white dress today, which she liked very much because it was convenient.

Jiu Yebai took a baseball cap from her new wardrobe and put it on her too.

With their identification documents in hand, the two went to take care of something important: they changed the cat's name!

After emerging from the solemn hall, Maomao touched the name on her ID card, looked up, and smiled at Jiu Yebai.

That smile was so innocent, as innocent as... a child receiving candy and feeling like they've received the whole world.

Jiu Yebai was taken aback.

A faint light flashed in the distance, and a passing girl admired the candid photo she had taken, edited a few words, and posted it on Weibo.

"Why are you so happy?" Jiu Yebai couldn't help but ask.

"Cat Cat has an identity now," Cat Cat said. She was no longer the stray cat that the old man could just throw away. This feeling was very novel.

"Hmm, I know a vegetarian restaurant, wanna go?" Jiu Yebai said.

“Go ahead,” the cat nodded.

“Okay, then I won’t go back for lunch,” Jiu Yebai said.

That vegetarian restaurant was located in a very remote area, nestled in a winding courtyard.

But inside, there was a completely different world.

Quiet and elegant, without a trace of oil smoke, but the burning of precious sandalwood incense.

A short while later, someone walked past their window, a pair of sunglasses in his mouth, looking down at his phone.

He glanced up casually, then paused slightly, his gaze shifting between the windowpane and his phone, repeating this several times before a slight smile played on his lips and he left.

Deep in the courtyard, Gu Ze pushed open each door and said, "Little Sweetie is trending on social media!"

There were three people sitting inside, none of them very presentable, but the most outrageous one was the man who had taken over two armchairs by himself, his long legs casually stomping on them, while gunshots blared loudly from his phone.

After his teammates died one after another, the man cursed, "Bad teammates."

The two clueless teammates in the room threw down their phones, and the baby-faced man looked at Gu Zeyi with great interest, "What's going on? Is Little Sweetie causing trouble again? Does she not want Second Master Jin anymore? It's only been a few days, and Second Master has already been relegated to the cold palace?"

"You're asking for it," the man said in a hoarse voice.

I don't know if they're referring to the person on the screen who just got shot in the head, or the baby-faced guy.

Another man grabbed a handful of waist-length hair, casually gathered the ethereal strands behind his head, and calmly presented a picture of a handsome man living in peace and tranquility. But when he spoke, all illusions were shattered, "Old hag? What the hell have you been up to now?"

Couldn't you have waited until after you finished eating? I can bear eating grass in this lousy place with you guys, but all you do is spew disgusting things. We're not even allowed to eat here! Old Gu, do you believe I'll burn this whole hay yard down today?

"You're so mean-spirited, you'll get your comeuppance sooner or later." Gu Zeyi slumped into a chair. "As long as Jin Er's throat isn't better, you'll be stuck eating and drinking at my hay yard."

"Quiet down." The baby-faced man interrupted with a grin. "Who has Little Sweetie taken a fancy to this time? It's trending on social media, even more sensational than the hot air balloon incident?"

Gu Ze laughed, "A relationship between an older woman and a younger man, isn't that exciting enough?"

"Tsk, let me see."

Gu Ze turned his phone around and zoomed in on a photo.

"Holy crap, is this Britney Spears?" The baby-faced man was practically glued to his phone, utterly shocked.

On the screen, a girl in a white skirt sits in a wheelchair, wearing a baseball cap at an angle, looking up at the boy and smiling.

In the soft morning light, a fair face, like a quietly blooming daisy, calmed the noise of the entire summer.

The boy was dressed almost in the same color scheme as everyone else, and also wore the same baseball cap. He was smiling with his head down.

The composition is excellent, even from a passerby's perspective; it's incredibly harmonious.

"Are you dumbfounded?" Gu Ze put his phone away. "#FromSchoolUniformsToWeddingDresses,ThisIsThisLove# Tsk, look at this title, isn't this trending topic a bit unusual?"

The baby-faced man snapped out of his daze, opened his Weibo account, and after looking at it for a while, finally figured out what was going on.

This Weibo post was made by a passerby, and it happened two hours ago.

"This...is really Sweetie!" The baby-faced man sighed. He really hadn't expected Jiu Xintian to look like this!

If these people had been here a few days ago, they wouldn't have known Jiu Xintian at all, and even if there was such a thing as a hot air balloon, it would have been just a joke.

The real reason why these people called her "Little Sweetie" so familiarly was because Grandma Mu called Mu Jin three times a day, urging her to come back and "play with her"!

Who do I play with? It's always Jiu Xintian!

They didn't know what was wrong with Grandma Mu, but she had been using the "Little Sweetie" meme a lot these past few days.

The baby-faced man was admiring the photo that had redefined his aesthetic sense when his phone was suddenly snatched away by a cold, white hand.

The hoarse voice said, "Jiu Xintian? Jiu Yebai? A relationship between an older woman and a younger man?"
