Chapter 279 The Secret I've Always Wanted to Unravel

Joseph ran over, and through his sunglasses, he looked the cat up and down. "Cat, don't you have any luggage?"

The cat shook its head. "No."

Joseph exclaimed, "Cat, you're so cool! Come with me, I've got a party planned for you!"

Joseph still drove a stylish retro sports car. He opened the car door for the cat and made a cool invitation gesture.

After Cat got into the car, Joseph quickly returned and turned on the music. This time it wasn't rock, but a song from Cat's second album.

Joseph even joined in the singing, completely absorbed in his own performance and in great spirits, but his strange pronunciation was still a bit distracting.

The cat changed the music; she spent a while changing it to some soothing, light music.

“Oh, kitty, I can even sing your songs. Aren’t you touched? You actually found this album! I only listen to songs like this when I can’t sleep; they’re great for falling asleep,” Joseph said.

The cat said, "I'm touched, but you should practice some more... You won't fall asleep while driving, will you?"

Joseph laughed heartily, "Of course not, I'm very excited to have you sitting next to me."

The cat said to him, "Joseph, there's no need for the party. I have things to do. It would be great if you could lend me your car."

Joseph looked at the cat immediately: "Why? Aren't you going to give me a chance to welcome you? I've prepared a wonderful program for you!"

The cat said, "No, I told you, I'm here on business."

Joseph looked at the cat with disappointment. "Alright, cat, but where are you going? I'm willing to be your driver forever."

The cat looked at him and asked, "What about your party?"

Joseph said optimistically, "Don't worry, they'll have a great time even if I don't go."

But the cat still said, "Joseph, you'd better just lend me a car."

Joseph said, "Kitty, what's made you so cold? Wow, did your boy infect you?"

The cat ignored the energetic Joseph and turned to look out the window.

Joseph made a phone call to his friend on the way and then took the cat to the hotel, the same hotel the cat had stayed at twice before.

After Joseph got out of the car, he handed the keys directly to the cat, saying, "This is my newest pet. I'm letting you open it, cat. Be good to it, okay?"

The cat took the keys and asked, "And what about you?"

“Me…” Joseph said, but a red sports car stopped in front of him. The window rolled down, and a very hot woman was driving.

Joseph smiled. "My friend has come to pick me up."

The cat waved and watched the car drive away.

After returning to her hotel room, she packed some things, changed her clothes, and went out again.

Of course, she did bring luggage; it's just that she was traveling alone, so any extras were naturally stored in her personal belongings.

In winter, even this once-warm city became a little desolate, so she went straight to an old shop.

When the glass door opened, a clear wind chime rang out, and the shop was very quiet.

Upon entering, there are two rows of tall shelves, and the air is filled with a mixture of various fragrances, the concentration of which is slightly pungent.

From the entrance to the depths of the store, the shelves are filled with spices, perfumes, and aromatherapy products, arranged by type.

In fact, this store is not a good business location. It is sandwiched among many popular big brands and has been here for many years without ever changing.

The shop was run by an elderly woman, and even one of her employees was a woman in her fifties.

When the cat walked in, no one greeted her. After a while, the shop assistant, who was in his fifties, came down from upstairs and asked her, "What do you need?"

The cat walked to the aromatherapy display area and, familiar with the place, picked out several aromatherapy products. "I want these."

This is the aromatherapy that Grandma Mu usually uses; I've already bought it for her once.

The shop assistant packed the aromatherapy for her and then said, "Miss, that'll be seven hundred and twenty euros."

After paying, the cat simply placed the aromatherapy diffusers on the table, looked around, and said to the clerk, "I have nowhere to go, so I'll just browse around here."

The shop assistant said understandingly, "Of course, you can shop for as long as you want."

The cat had smelled almost every fragrance in the store. She stopped at the top of the stairs and looked up. "Can I go upstairs?"

The shop assistant said, "I'm afraid that won't work; the lady is still sleeping."

The lady she was referring to was the owner of the shop.

However, just as the two were talking, someone upstairs said, "I'm awake now, let the guests come up."

The cat had already walked up there on its own.

The second floor is not well lit, and the window is blocked by a shelf. This floor is not actually open to customers. It is mostly filled with spices and a very compact worktable.

There are several sets of tools and utensils for making spices here.

The old lady was taking a nap in a deckchair when she saw the cat and said, "As you can see, there's nothing to see here."

But the cat said, "No, I think there are treasures everywhere here."

The old lady seemed interested in what the cat said, and she asked, "Why do you say that?"

The cat said, "Aren't those exquisite finished products downstairs from here?"

The old lady chuckled. "Yes, young lady, is there a fragrance here that you like?"

Cat shook her head honestly, "I came to buy it for an old lady who loves the aromatherapy here."

The old lady smiled kindly, with genuine joy in her eyes. "Ah, she must be one of my long-time customers, someone who's been using my products for decades."

There was a hint of pride in her voice when she said this.

The cat went to look at the spices. When it came to rare spices, it asked the old lady about them. She seemed to enjoy chatting with people and would answer whatever the cat asked. However, the conversation would often go off-topic.

She wouldn't stop until the cat brought up the next question.

Cat noticed that on that slightly crowded workbench, there was a rather special spot covered by a glass dome, inside which was just an empty bottle.

The cat asked her, "What is this empty bottle?"

The old lady paused for a moment and said, "This is a secret, a secret I have been trying to unravel."

The cat looked at her: "Can you tell me?"

The old lady said, "Of course, this is a perfume my father gave me. It's a one-of-a-kind bottle in the world, and it's also a secret I've always wanted to unlock. Even after using it for many years, I still haven't found the formula for this perfume."
