Chapter 359 Father Jiu's Request, the Twists and Turns in Buying the Knife

"Take care of this place," the cat instructed the bodyguard.

"Yes." The bodyguard replied solemnly, then turned and rushed towards the group of scoundrels who were limping away.

Cat turned around and saw Jiu Zhongsheng and Ziying waiting at the entrance of the flower shed. Ziying seemed to still be upset that her flower shed had been smashed and many things were damaged.

"Yingying, I'm so glad you're alright. Let's fix the broken things together," Jiu Zhongsheng comforted her.

Ziying said, "That's the only way. Thank you so much." Then, she looked at Jiu Zhongsheng and asked, "By the way, who are you?"

The cat raised its eyebrows in surprise.

A fleeting look of sadness crossed Jiu Zhongsheng's face as he said, "Yingying, it's me, Jiu Zhongsheng. Have you forgotten again?"

Ziying didn't seem to recognize Jiu Zhongsheng yet, but she said apologetically, "I'm sorry, I don't have a very good memory. Do you live nearby too? I'll remember you this time."

Jiu Zhongsheng nodded patiently, "It's okay, I'll tell you every day."

The cat walked over.

Jiu Zhongsheng also looked at her and said, "Let's not talk about it now, let's go eat."

The cat nodded; clearly, now was not the time to speak.

The three of them arrived at a small restaurant. It wasn't crowded and was a bit shabby. Jiu Zhongsheng, wearing a coat worth hundreds of thousands of yuan, sat down naturally. He opened the plastic-sealed cutlery, carefully rinsed it with boiling water, and then put a set for Ziying and Maomao.

Ziying handed the menu to Jiu Zhongsheng, "Mr. Jiu, you are a guest, please order."

Jiu Zhongsheng paused for a moment, then ordered several vegetarian dishes, but not a single meat dish.

When Ziying wanted to add a few meat dishes, Jiu Zhongsheng said, "No need to add any more, I've been eating vegetarian lately."

The cat said, "I also want to eat vegetarian food."

Ziying looked at the cat with a bit of doubt, "Sweetie, did you catch a cold? Is your appetite not good?"

The cat said, "Maybe."

"I'm going to wash my hands," Ziying said.

After she walked away, Jiu Zhongsheng looked in her direction and then said, "Your mother is like you; she's a vegetarian, but you used to love eating meat, so she would cook for you."

The cat nodded, as if that made sense, and asked, "What happened to my mom?"

Jiu Zhongsheng looked at the cat, his expression somewhat melancholy.

In Maomao's memory, Jiu Zhongsheng was a gentleman. As he grew older, his personality became more and more calm and reserved. This was the first time she had ever seen him look so melancholy.

Jiu Zhongsheng said, "I don't know. Your mother is sick. Her symptoms are very strange. Her memory is severely confused. She may recognize me today but not tomorrow. Many things are the same. She may remember them today but not tomorrow. However, the only person she always remembers is you."

The cat asked again, "But she said I'm eighteen."

Jiu Zhongsheng sighed, "That's right, she thinks you're eighteen. I've come here every day these past few days, and she only talks more when it comes to you, and she's willing to talk to me."

I've summarized some of her symptoms and sent them to mental health experts, but they can't diagnose what's wrong because your mother's symptoms change every day.

Cat understood. It seemed that Jiu Zhongsheng had been here for quite a while.

Jiu Zhongsheng continued, "I don't know how long it's been, but your mother has always been like this. I don't know how she's managed. Your mother used to be such a graceful and charming person, but now..."

Just then, Ziying returned, and Jiu Zhongsheng immediately stopped talking.

After the dishes were served, Ziying piled a lot of food on the cat's plate, almost filling it to the brim. "Sweetie, you've lost weight lately. Eat more and don't be picky."

The cat ate a little, and the taste was really not good; it was far inferior to what Chen Doudou made...

Several times when she tried to put down her chopsticks, Jiu Zhongsheng stared at her with a forceful gaze, as if he would turn on her on the spot if she didn't eat.

Ziying also kept a close eye on the cat.

The cat poked at the white rice with her chopsticks, unwilling to argue with a patient over such a small matter, but she really couldn't bring herself to eat it.

Just then, Ziying turned around and took a tissue from the table behind her.

Cat seized the opportunity, quickly picked up the bowl, and slammed it all over Jiu Zhongsheng's bowl.

Jiu Zhongsheng: "..."

"Sweetie, are you full?" Ziying asked.

The cat rubbed its belly and said, "I'm so full."

Ziying looked at Jiu Zhongsheng, her gaze falling on his bowl, and said, "There aren't any good restaurants here, so I can only entertain you in this small place. I'm so sorry."

Jiu Zhongsheng shook his head. "Don't overthink Yingying, I'm not a picky eater."

As he spoke, Jiu Zhongsheng picked up the bowl and quickly ate the bowl of rice that the cat had given him.

After the meal.

The three left the restaurant. Ziying was closed for the day, so she went home with Tiantian. However, Jiu Zhongsheng followed them.

The buildings in the community are only five stories high, and Ziying's home happens to be on the fifth floor.

When they arrived at their doorstep, Ziying took out her keys, looked at Jiu Zhongsheng with some hesitation, and said, "Mr. Jiu, you..."

She was wondering why Jiu Zhongsheng was following her so closely; were they really that close?

Jiu Zhongsheng, however, was not surprised at all and said, "Yingying, I live right across the hall. Have you forgotten? My heating is broken. I'll come over to your place for a while."

Ziying seemed to know that she always forgot things, so when she heard him say that, she immediately dispelled her doubts. "I forgot again... It's really not good without heating, it's too cold. Come in quickly."

"Sweetie, go take a nap. You have school this afternoon," Ziying urged the cat.

Before the cat could say anything, it was pushed into the bedroom.
