It was Song Sifan and Bai Jiang who arrived. They probably just happened to run into each other and boarded the ship together.
Song Sifan naturally sat down on the sofa. Bai Jiang nodded to the cat and sat quietly to the side, always habitually minimizing his presence.
The previous topic was over. The cat looked at the group of them and then wisely moved away.
"Um, I'm going to get some fresh air; the air conditioning in the cabin is too strong," Cat said.
But Mu Jin stopped her, "You just said you were cold."
The cat said matter-of-factly, "I'm hot right now."
So, the cat still managed to hide away.
Let them stare at each other; whether they want to talk or fight is up to them.
It was really cold outside, but the cat didn't just stand there in the wind. She took a walk around the ship, went to the cockpit, and chatted with the captain for a bit.
"Have you ever been to Whale Sea?" the cat asked.
The captain was a very talkative man. He said, "Of course I've been there. My family has made a living in Whale Sea for three generations. I could stay on course even with my eyes closed. Young lady, to be honest, whenever there is a shipwreck like this, the Antique Association will think of me first."
The cat sat down and suddenly asked, "Three generations have been running the Whale Sea route? Doesn't that mean we have to go back at least a hundred years?"
The captain said with a bit of pride, "Yes, to say three generations is an understatement. I heard from my grandfather that our ancestors were just ordinary fishermen. Later, my grandfather became a sailor on the official ship at the time, often traveling back and forth on various routes in the Whale Sea. Later, my grandfather even became a minor official. In short, he did quite well."
"I'm more than content to be a captain in my own hands."
After saying that, the captain exclaimed, "I heard that the captain of the antique association's team this time is a young and beautiful girl. Could it be you?"
The cat nodded, "Yes, that's me."
The captain immediately showered her with praise, "Truly, heroes emerge from among the young, and women are just as capable as men. Apart from Madam Mu, I have never heard of such a young girl taking on such an important task."
The captain was very enthusiastic. As he spoke, he brought up Madam Mu, saying, "When I was sailing the Whale Sea, Madam Mu had already retired because of her leg injury. It's such a pity... I often heard my grandfather say that Madam Mu was a heroine among women."
The cat asked, "You've been a captain for so many years, have you encountered any interesting things at sea?"
The captain, intrigued, sat down to chat with the cat. "There's so much to say! The conditions at sea are incredibly varied. We've encountered huge storms and waves that have caused ships to be swept into the sea several times. What would you like to hear about?"
When it comes to things at sea, the captain is naturally very talkative. He knows that young people love to hear stories, and he's happy to tell them too.
The cat chuckled, "Hehe, the more outlandish the better, Captain, just tell me whatever you want."
The captain saw the cat smile and felt he could talk about it for three days and three nights! This child was so cute, she looked a few years younger than his daughter… He thought for a moment and said:
"Okay, I'll tell you about it. This isn't just a story; I saw it with my own eyes."
"Ghost ships, you've heard of them, right? People who often sail at sea are not surprised to see ghost ships. However, once, my ship encountered a dilapidated ship that must have been quite old."
I walked around it then, but I saw it again that night! It was the same boat! I walked around it again, and then I encountered it every day—the second day, the third day, the fourth day! It was like being trapped in a maze.
The fifth night was the most eerie. On that dilapidated boat, there was singing and dancing, and red lanterns were hanging high, just like... just like those flower boats in ancient times. I was young at the time, and it scared me quite a bit.
Fortunately, we were fine after we went around it, and we made it to shore smoothly the next day.
After speaking, the captain also paid attention to the cat's expression. Seeing that she showed no surprise or fright, he couldn't help but sigh, "No wonder she's the squad leader. Don't underestimate her because she's young; she's probably seen a lot in the world."
So the captain asked curiously, "Little girl, don't you think this is very strange? Do you believe I've seen this before?"
"Huh?" Cat glanced at the captain and said seriously, "You must be hallucinating from exhaustion."
The captain was taken aback, and said with a hint of distress, "That's what the doctor told me too... To be honest, that incident left me with quite a psychological scar. I even saw a psychologist, but he concluded that I was just hallucinating."
I've told this story to many people, but they all think I'm bragging. But I absolutely wasn't bragging. Isn't that annoying? It's been over twenty years, and I'm starting to believe I was hallucinating back then!
The captain, however, seemed to have come to terms with it. He chuckled and said, "Let me tell you something else. This isn't something I experienced; it was something my grandfather did! He said that there was a time when he was on a government ship at sea..."
One day in broad daylight, a dragon suddenly swam out of the sea! It immediately turned dark! The dragon soared into the sky and plunged into the sea, stirring up the entire ocean into chaos. My grandfather's boat withstood the wind and waves for a long time, but in the end, it was capsized!
Every single piece of cargo on the ship was lost! The storm lasted a long time before it calmed down, and the dragon was gone too. My grandfather swam back to the ship, but most of the people on board were dead.
After listening, the cat thought about it seriously. Could it be that dragons still exist in this world? In the current environment, how can dragons cultivate?
However, if it were a hundred years ago, that might have been possible.
The captain chuckled and said, "This is even more eerie than the ghost ship, isn't it? When I was little, my grandpa always told me about it. But, hahaha, don't even mention you, I don't believe it either. I suspect he's getting senile. Where in this world do dragons come from?"
