Chapter 44 I am your great-aunt!

"This is too slow. Let's split up and search," Jiu Yebai suddenly said. The cemetery was much larger than he had imagined.

The cat had no objections, and the two went in different directions.

Not long after, the cat saw an interesting person. He was sitting in front of a tombstone, with a scraggly beard and a颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of being decadent, dispirited, and dissolute) look. Cigarette butts were scattered around him, and a backpack was lying behind him. He had been sitting there for who knows how long, almost like a statue.

Cat smiled slightly. Although the person looked very different from the photo, she was certain that this person was Lan Feng!

Moreover, it seems his flight, which took place in the early morning, went straight here in the middle of the night. Isn't that fun? The atmosphere in the cemetery at night must be wonderful, right?

Cat walked up to Lan Feng, ignoring him, and simply bent down to look at the photo on the tombstone.

The person in the photo looks very young, perhaps only seventeen or eighteen years old, with a bright smile, like an innocent young man. This person is Xin Yu, who died at the age of twenty-eight. In less than thirty years, he accomplished what others could not do in a lifetime, and then hastily ended his life.

He committed suicide, reportedly due to depression.

Don't touch it.

Just as the cat was about to touch the photo, Lanfeng behind her gave a warning in an unfriendly tone.

"Why can't I touch it? But you can?" The cat turned to look at him.

Lan Feng's expression was gloomy, and his irritable brows seemed to be showing some anger. "I told you not to touch it, so don't touch it. No matter who you are, get out of here right now."

"What if I don't?" the cat asked him.

Lan Feng chuckled, "You snuck in, so it seems the management of this cemetery isn't very good. However, I can still have the cemetery staff come and drive you away. As for whether you have other motives, you don't need to say anything to me."

The cat straightened up, shook its head with a tsk-tsk sound, said nothing, and turned to leave.

She wasn't being threatened, of course. It was because the legendary Lan Feng was now dead! The man with dim eyes and a颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of being decadent, dispirited, or颓废) appearance was not the Lan Feng she was looking for.

The cat had no interest in knowing his story; rather than wasting time here, it would be better to go home and read a book.

But just as she turned the corner to leave, she suddenly smelled a faint scent of blood.

The cat paused for a moment, hesitated for a second, then turned and ran back!

Lan Feng was still sitting there, but the difference was that he was holding a military knife in his left hand, and there was a deep cut on his right wrist that exposed the bone! Blood was flowing out relentlessly, staining a large area of grass red.

Lan Feng remained motionless, staring at the photo on the tombstone, as if he wasn't the one whose wrist was about to fall off!

The cat narrowed its eyes.

Suddenly, she grabbed his right wrist, tore a long strip of cloth from her skirt, and used it to bandage the horrific wound! She pulled Lan Feng away, saying, "You need to go to the hospital now!"

As if waking from a dream, Lan Feng roared, "Don't touch me! Get out!"

As if he had lost control of his emotions, he recklessly stabbed the cat with the military knife.

The cat frowned, but calmly grabbed his wrist and twisted it gently, causing the knife in his hand to fall to the ground with a 'clink'!

"You're so stubborn!" the cat said unhappily. "If I wasn't afraid you'd drag me into this, I wouldn't bother with you at all!"

Lan Feng struggled with all his might, tearing the strip of cloth from his right wrist, looking as if he wanted to die.

Unfortunately, he had lost too much blood and seemed to be in poor health, so he couldn't match the strength of the cat.

The cat didn't want to argue with him, so she suddenly pressed him to the ground, grabbed his hair, and slammed his face hard against the tombstone, right in front of the photo.

He said sarcastically, "You want to die? Do you want to go find him? Let me tell you, it's impossible! Xin Yu can be reborn as a human in his next life, but you, at best, are just an animal. Humans only have one life. Don't expect to make up for the mistakes you made in this life in the next!"

"What do you know? Let me go!" Lan Feng roared like a trapped beast.

"You don't believe me?" Cat's tone became even worse. It was rare for her to be willing to waste time talking to him, but he wouldn't listen.

“You have to believe it!” the cat said.

She suddenly pulled Lanfeng's right hand and quickly removed the strip of cloth wrapped around his wound, exposing the bloody cut. The cat, however, showed no fear upon seeing it.

She simply placed a small hand on the wound, covering it, and focused her mind, her pretty face displaying an unusually composed expression.

Suddenly! A burst of white light emanated from her palm and landed entirely on the wound!

However, the cat's expression suddenly changed! Her eyes became bloodshot! The momentary suffocation made her vision go black, and the golden Flame Heart Lock around her neck tightened slightly for a moment!

Fortunately, it was over. Cat pushed Lanfeng away and sat on the ground, panting heavily.

Lan Feng remained seated on the ground, staring blankly at his right hand!

His hands and arms were still smeared with bright red blood, but the deep wound he had just made himself was gone!

He touched it for a long time, not believing it, and found that his wrist was smooth and there wasn't even a scar!

This isn't a dream; he's not that out of his mind! He clearly cut his wrists!

He looked up abruptly, staring intently at the cat. "Who exactly are you?"

The cat said in a harsh tone, "I'm your great-aunt!"

To save your wretched life, your great-aunt used up all the spiritual energy she had accumulated over twenty days! Now, her marrow cleansing ritual will have to be postponed again! And her peaches will have to be planted a few days later!
