Regardless of whether Song Sifan was praising him or not, Bai Jiang didn't think much of it; he was just doing what he was supposed to do.
More than twenty minutes later, the ship finally emerged from the terrible typhoon and sailed on the calm sea.
The captain re-steering the ship and left the high seas at full speed.
The fifth ship picked them up immediately, but instead of returning, they lingered in the area, waiting for the typhoon to pass.
On the other side...
When the cat went back to find Mu Jin, it saw the great white shark with its huge mouth open, sharp teeth exposed, charging towards Mu Jin at an extremely fast speed.
It seems unlikely that it will miss out on this feast.
The black cat floated in front of Mu Jin, as if it were ready to be fed to the sharks at any moment.
Mu Jin held the Great Xia Dragon Sparrow Blade, and suddenly a huge, dazzling blue star trail appeared on the sea!
This is the art of star divination!
The cat swam over quickly and grabbed Mu Jin's hand. "Ah Jin, don't use magic!"
"Who told you to come back!" Mu Jin suddenly shouted.
Cat had never heard Mu Jin so angry before. She felt a little wronged, but she said, "Cat wants to go with you!"
Her tone was unwavering, and it was unclear where she got such a stubborn idea from, even disregarding life and death.
"Come back!"
Mu Jin suddenly hugged the cat's waist because she was about to rush towards the shark!
Cat turned her head to look at Mu Jin and said, "Ah Jin, don't use magic! Don't waste your spiritual energy. We don't know when we'll be able to get ashore. I'll handle this shark. Trust me!"
Mu Jin clearly didn't believe it, nor did she listen.
They watched as the shark rushed into the orbital range, getting within arm's reach of them!
Suddenly, the cat covered Mu Jin's ears and screamed while staring at the shark!
The sound was nothing like the cat's usual clear voice; it was deep and lonely, echoing through the deep sea amidst the roar of the violent waves! All the sea creatures, big and small, scattered in terror!
Even the great white shark that had charged at them suddenly turned around, creating huge waves, and fled in the opposite direction at high speed.
Mu Jin frowned as he watched the great white shark, which had already entered the trap, escape. He looked at Maomao, whose eyes, beneath her thick eyelashes, held an unfathomable depth.
Even though the cat covered his ears, he still heard it—that chilling sound, as if the gates of hell were being brazenly opened, arrogantly threatening any living creature that passed by.
"Meow! Go and catch it!" the cat suddenly said.
"Meow!"
The black cat darted out in an instant.
Cat let go of her hand, turned around and smiled at Mu Jin, "Ah Jin, you see, I really can protect you."
Mu Jin lowered her eyes, the rain still washing over her face, but the distant voice from before still echoed in her mind. The chilling feeling gradually disappeared, replaced by a strange sense of familiarity.
His memory raced, trying to find familiar roots.
He must have heard such a sound before, in a dark, boundless place, a sound that seemed to be marking out territory, a sound that had once greeted him.
What should follow is the clear sound of copper bells and laughter.
"Ah Jin!"
Yes, there should be this sound as well.
Looking at the cat, Mu Jin recalled a bouncy girl running towards her, and that girl's face instantly transformed into the cat's face.
A long-lost smile, and those same bright eyes—an unstoppable light in the darkness.
"Ah Jin, what's wrong? Did I scare you?" Cat asked worriedly, grabbing Mu Jin's shoulder and shaking him.
Mu Jin suddenly felt a headache coming on. His memories were inexplicably stuck in an unfamiliar place. He could see the cat and hear her talking, but he couldn't move.
His head was throbbing, and his eyes were bloodshot, but he was still desperately trying to hear what the girl was saying, as if he would never hear it again once he regained consciousness.
"Ah Jin, Ah Jin!"
Cat finally realized that something was wrong with Mu Jin. She panicked, hugged Mu Jin, and called out to him.
However, Mu Jin seemed to be frozen in place, her body even slowly sinking downwards.
"Ah Jin, are you hurt? Don't be afraid, I will protect you." Cat said quickly, she took Mu Jin's arm and floated on the sea with him.
Mu Jin rested his head on the cat's shoulder, and he suddenly struggled to say, "Cat...cat."
“I’m here, Ah Jin!” the cat immediately replied.
Mu Jin lifted her eyelids and looked at the cat's profile. Her mind was like a battlefield, bombarding her with chaos, and her ears were filled with constant ringing.
Suddenly, Mu Jin's head lolled to the side, and she completely lost consciousness.
"Ah Jin!"
The cat's meow caused the shark, which had been swimming back, to turn and run away again! But it was blocked by the black cat once more.
The shark swam up to the cat, still baring its signature shark teeth, but now it was completely devoid of its previous ferocity. Even with delicious food right in front of it, it dared not eat it.
The soul huddled in the corner, utterly terrified.
The cat helped Mu Jin onto the shark's back, then climbed up itself. It stuck a dagger into the shark's back and braced its feet on it to prevent slipping.
The shark either didn't sense anything because it was too thick with fat, or it was too frightened to react; in any case, it didn't react at all.
The cat patted it, signaling it to go.
The shark had no idea where the cat was going, so it rushed out and surfed with ease in the fierce waves, soon leaving the typhoon-ravaged sea area.
