The princess immediately replied, "Greetings!"
This answer was somewhat reassuring.
Cat: "When did he come? What did he come for?"
The princess had stopped crying and had calmed down. She looked at the cat and asked, "Excuse me, can you tell me your relationship with Second Master Jin?"
"You're so long-winded. I ask you questions, and you just answer them," the cat said.
The princess was a little afraid of her because she had never seen a woman with such skill before. So, she hesitated for a moment and said, "Second Master Jin came a week ago, but he only borrowed some old documents from my father."
I don't know what he's going to do, or where he's going..."
The cat fiddled with her whip. "You really don't know?"
Upon seeing this, the princess immediately said, "I only know roughly where Second Master Jin went! It's in Wild Elephant Valley to the south!"
Jiu Yebai immediately checked and found out that "Wild Elephant Valley is a primeval jungle, and almost no one goes there. Satellite maps are basically useless in this kind of place, and the magnetic field in many places is also disordered."
After saying that, Jiu Yebai added, "It's very dangerous."
The cat looked at the princess and asked, "Do you know the way?"
The princess nodded.
The cat immediately decided, "You lead the way, and we'll go right away."
The princess wanted to refuse, but the cat didn't give her a chance to speak and covered her mouth again.
They then left and drove south.
The princess kept looking around, hoping someone would come to rescue her. However, there were fewer and fewer people around, and she became more and more desperate. Finally, as if she had resigned herself to her fate, she sat there quietly.
Soon after, the car arrived at Wild Elephant Valley, but soon the road ended completely, so they had to get out and walk.
The cat had already untied the princess's hands and feet, and also freed her mouth, because in this place, she couldn't run away even if she wanted to.
After walking for a long time, the princess looked at the tall trees and the dense bushes all around her. She was panting heavily. "I don't know the way anymore. Could you... let me go back?"
The cat rested for a while, while Jiu Yebai planned the route.
She glanced at the princess. "Fine, you can go now."
The princess was surprised; she hadn't expected the cat to agree so easily. She immediately ran back, as if afraid the cat would change its mind.
But, ten minutes later...
The princess ran back, her face filled with terror. She calmed down slightly when she saw the cat and Jiu Yebai. She slowly walked over and said, "Um... I grew up here and know the jungle better than you do. It's so dangerous here, I'd better stay with you..."
The cat didn't say anything.
Jiu Yebai glanced at her and ruthlessly exposed her, "You're lost, aren't you?"
The princess nodded helplessly; she did want to go back! But after running for so long, she realized she was lost!
Wild Elephant Valley is densely forested, and it's easy to get lost once you enter. Even experienced locals often have accidents, let alone her!
Rather than facing all the potential dangers alone, it's better to come back and find these two people!
Although they kidnapped her, these two people came to see Master Jin, and they're his friends, so they shouldn't be bad people...
Jiu Yebai drew a map and handed it to Maomao. "We can go this way. If the map you gave me before is correct, Mu Jin and the others are probably around here."
The cat immediately stood up. "Let's go."
After a while, the tablet computer in Jiu Yebai's hand had completely lost signal. He said, "The magnetic field has changed."
From then on, they had to figure it out on their own.
Jiu Yebai said, "Although the location on the map fragment is very rough, there is an underground river on it, which should still exist. We should go find this river so we can have a reference point."
At this moment, the princess said timidly, "Um... could we rest for a while and have something to eat?"
It's already afternoon, and she's starving!
No one paid her any attention, but the cat looked at Jiu Yebai and asked, "Xiaobai, are you hungry?"
"Hungry," Jiu Yebai said, having been so focused on the map that he had forgotten about being hungry.
The cat said, "Then let's rest for a while."
Seeing that the two of them had actually stopped, the princess finally breathed a sigh of relief, but! There was no food either! Of the three of them, only Jiu Yebai was carrying a bag, but it seemed that besides a laptop, there was nothing else in the bag...
To avoid starving, the princess decided to fend for herself, as there were many wild fruits in the forest that could satisfy her hunger.
After she walked a little further away, Jiu Yebai said, "I'll go find something to eat."
The cat replied, "No need."
And so, as if by magic, she arranged juice, salad, steak... on a rock.
The steak was very fresh, still slightly bloody...
She then took out a blowtorch and handed it to Jiu Yebai, saying, "You can bake it yourself."
Kuyabai stared in disbelief as he took it. "Cat, you don't happen to have one of those game backpacks where you can retrieve equipment at any time, do you?!"
He had seen the cat with a whip a few times before, and he thought it was possible that such a portable weapon was hidden in a discreet way. But to take out a fresh lunch was just not right!
Cat thought for a moment and nodded. Jiu Yebai's explanation was simple and easy to understand.
After all, humans may not yet be able to comprehend the concept of a living space.
Jiu Yebai's eyes lit up immediately. "How much capacity does your backpack have? What else are you carrying? How did your backpack appear? Did you wake up with it on, or is it bound to the game system? Do you need to do any tasks to increase your proficiency?"
The cat glanced at Jiu Yebai, who had suddenly become unusually agitated, and sighed, "Silly little brother."
To her utter surprise, his adolescent delusions eliminated any communication barriers between them. She didn't need to explain anything; he simply imagined the whole story.
“This is a space I was born with, a space that I completely control,” the cat said.
Jiu Yebai immediately said, "I understand! This situation is because the host's spiritual power is too strong and cannot be controlled, so you can completely dominate it!"
For a moment, the cat didn't know whether to call Jiu Ye Bai a fool or to say he was extremely intelligent.
So the cat urged him, "Eat quickly."
Jiu Yebai was now full of energy because he knew that the cat had a cheat code, so even if they came in a hurry, it wouldn't be a problem for them to stay in this jungle for several days and nights.
He excitedly grilled the steak and ate it all.
The cat only drank a little bit of juice.
When the princess returned, she looked at the cat and Jiu Yebai and felt that they had already eaten, but so quickly... And why did she smell grilled steak? Was she too hungry and hallucinating?
