"Chu Chu, she..."
"Is it missing?"
Ding Yongchun originally wanted to find an excuse, since the disappearance of Chu Chu was, after all, a family matter.
But when he heard the cat ask that, he instinctively said, "How did you know?"
"She just texted me. Explain yourself, what happened?"
Ding Yongchun was worried about his granddaughter, and at that moment he couldn't think of anything else, so he told Maomao.
"Just now, Chu Chu suddenly went out by herself! I clearly saw her walk to the door, but after I chased after her, she disappeared!"
“I saw it clearly, there was nothing around, she couldn’t have hidden herself! I’ve lived most of my life, and there are some things I’ve never believed, but I saw it with my own eyes! Chu Chu is gone!”
"A lot of strange things have been happening in H City these past few nights. Many people have disappeared, and rumors are spreading. This can't be the work of a human being. Could Chu Chu have been kidnapped too?"
"Miss Jiu, I can't talk to you anymore, I need to go find Chu Chu right away."
After hearing this, the cat said, "Don't go. I'll bring Ding Chu back for you."
"That won't do..."
“You’re right, this is definitely not something a human would do, so there’s no point in you going there. I can bring her back.”
Ding Yongchun asked in surprise and doubt, "Miss Jiu, could you be... a Taoist priest?"
The cat frowned. "No."
"I'm much more powerful than the Taoist priest!"
Afterwards, Ding Yongchun hesitated at the door for a while before returning to the villa.
He decided to believe the cat!
It wasn't that he was afraid of dying; he was afraid that if he died, who would take care of Chu Chu?
“Miss Jiu, if you help me find Chu Chu, then I will owe you a huge favor.”
-------------------------------------
Instead of checking on the Ding family, Maomao had Mu Jin drive the car directly to the burned-down hotel.
This is the most bustling area in H City. Back then, it was brightly lit and incredibly lively every night, and this hotel was a landmark building here.
However, the hotel's location is now dark and gloomy, with the huge plaza in front of it also shrouded in darkness.
Even though there were all sorts of neon lights and giant screens around, and music playing.
However, the light seemed unable to reach this place.
Mu Jin drove the car over.
The hotel plaza was cordoned off with two layers of no-entry police tape, so their car could only be parked on the roadside.
After getting out of the car, the cat glanced at the hotel from afar.
She could see it clearly: the hotel was charred black, but only a shell remained.
A heavy, dark aura swirled around all the windows and doors.
The cat lifted its foot and crossed the warning line.
Just then, a mother and daughter passed by. The girl asked curiously, "Mom, why is it so dark over there?"
"Don't go there! We absolutely can't go there! We need to go home right now!"
"But one of the older sisters went in."
The woman suddenly picked up the girl and ran away quickly.
Mu Jin then came over and walked forward with the cat.
The closer you get to the hotel, the more eerie it becomes; the bustling sounds of people on the distant streets can no longer be heard.
It's strange, like two different worlds.
Cat suddenly looked at Mu Jin, worried that he wasn't used to being here, "Ah Jin, are you alright?"
"It's alright, let's go."
The cat nodded.
Upon arriving at the hotel entrance, there were a few scattered people standing outside the wide entrance hall.
They were all busy with their own things, setting up formations and probing for resentment, making it all quite mysterious.
Cat glanced to the side and saw a young man dressed as a student live-streaming on his phone!
He was working very hard, explaining things continuously. In such a quiet environment, he didn't seem to realize it while wearing headphones, but actually, it was very awkward.
Nobody paid any attention to him.
"Family members, tell me, isn't the streamer awesome? Doesn't he spoil his fans? You said you wanted to see this haunted hotel, so here I am!"
"See that? That's the hotel behind me!"
"What? Can't see clearly? You want me to turn on the light? Don't be ridiculous! This is a haunted hotel, can we even turn on the lights? Besides! The electrical circuits in this area have been broken for ages! The streamer brought three power banks with him today!"
"Family members in the live stream, please like and follow me, and get 100,000 likes! Today, I'll take you into a haunted hotel!"
As the streamer spoke, he held up his phone and started dancing.
He spoke loudly, clearly audible in the quiet environment, making it seem as if the hotel itself was the strangest thing, and he was the strangest.
Someone muttered curses under their breath.
"These days, people will do anything for money! How can you get into this hotel without some real skills? What a piece of trash."
"Yeah, aren't you afraid of getting caught by ghosts if you go in?"
Suddenly, the cat walked over to the streamer, stood to the side avoiding the camera, and patted him on the shoulder.
The streamer was dancing energetically, shaking his head, when he looked up and screamed in terror!
"ah!"
His expression was one of terror and suddenness, and he jumped three feet high, almost leaping out of the frame.
The viewers in the live stream were giving it a huge thumbs up.
【What's wrong? What's wrong? Did I see a ghost?】
[Holy crap, we haven't even entered the hotel yet!]
[Hey streamer, show me the camera! Let me see what it is!]
The streamer stared at the cat, unsure of what to do with his hands and feet, completely at a loss. "Master... Master."
