Ren Shuai said directly, "We need to find the stolen box from the Golden Tower."
Richardson said, "It's not in my possession. I only glanced at it five days ago, and the leaders here took it away. They wouldn't leave something so important in front of me."
At this moment, the cat asked, "Are you calculating the formula for unlocking the lock?"
Richardson suddenly heard a woman's voice. Startled, he nodded. "Yes, unfortunately, the procedure for unlocking that box is extremely complicated. I haven't found anything yet."
The cat said, "Then tell them now that you've figured out the password to unlock the door."
Richardson said with some fear, "No! This way, I'll definitely be dead!"
Ren Shuai: "Mr. Richardson, we will protect you, you will be safe."
Richardson, however, did not believe it. "Once they have the results, they will take me to that place, which is full of armed men. If I move even slightly, I will be riddled with bullets. There is no way I can escape! Even God cannot save me, let alone you."
"Whether you figure out the password yourself or not, you're doomed in two days at most. I've given you a way out; believe it or not," the cat said.
Richardson struggled, yes, but he still wanted to stall; it was too dangerous to approach the box this way!
The cat asked again, "Can you see us?"
Richardson shook his head. "I can't see it."
The cat said, "This is invisibility. I will make you invisible when the time comes. This is just a basic operation. I said I would protect you, and I will. You'd better decide quickly."
Cat took out another defensive talisman and handed it to Richardson: "Put this in your clothes, it can help you stop bullets."
Richardson did indeed see the talisman that appeared out of thin air; the red patterns on it reminded him of something mysterious from the East.
He paused for a moment, then immediately took the talisman. "I don't have any pockets in my clothes..."
He was only wearing a shirt, but just as he was speaking, the talisman stuck to his body by itself...
“This…” Richardson suddenly began to believe it.
The cat asked, "Is it okay now?"
Richardson nodded, "Then I'll call for help."
There was a rope in the cell. He shook it. "Someone will be here soon."
As Richardson spoke, he suddenly looked at the food box, quickly opened it, and began to wolf down the food. Although the food was not very appetizing, he knew that filling his stomach was the most important thing.
After a while, the guard from before came down. He kicked the door and yelled, "Damn it, you haven't finished eating yet, what are you yelling about!"
With his mouth full of food, Richardson mumbled, "I've figured out the code."
Upon hearing this, the guard ran out as fast as he could!
Even the hidden door wasn't closed.
"Calm down, we're right behind you. Don't make a sound. Once you see the box, I'll help you become invisible."
Richardson nodded, drank some water, and calmed himself down.
After a while, an officer came with a dozen soldiers and dragged Richardson out.
They left the prison and walked around outside for more than twenty minutes before entering an inconspicuous house.
This is the area where the families live. The houses are simply furnished, but their real destination is not here.
There was a hidden door on the ground floor, so they went back into the basement.
This basement is clearly no ordinary basement; it's practically an underground palace—extremely luxurious and enormous.
They walked down a long corridor and entered a room.
Behind the curtain sat a man, with several women attending to him.
This person is probably the leader.
"You've already figured out the password?" the leader asked.
Richardson nodded. "That's right."
The leader said, "You, write down the password to unlock it right now."
Richardson was startled... He hadn't seen the box, and the leader's words suggested that he only needed the password and would try to start the game himself, without Richardson's involvement!
Richardson quickly replied, "I can write down the password, but that box isn't just a simple combination lock; it also has a mechanism. After entering the password, a mechanism will appear, and you can only unlock it after disarming the mechanism."
The leader was skeptical, when suddenly a maid brought over a box.
The leader said, "Then tell me the password."
Richardson didn't have the correct password at all, but at this point, he had to speak! So he recited his rough calculation of the password, but he knew that three digits of it were wrong.
The leader entered the numbers one by one.
Richardson was extremely nervous; he was waiting for the cat's signal.
Even after the leader entered the password and the safe displayed an error message, the cat still didn't give him any instructions.
The leader flew into a rage and ordered his men to give Richardson a sound beating.
"This password program will self-destruct after three consecutive incorrect attempts; you've already wasted one chance!"
Richardson was dragged out, looking dejected and pathetic.
But in fact, although that beating should have made him vomit blood, he didn't feel any pain at all. The punches and kicks hit him, but they didn't actually make contact with him.
He was relieved, which meant that the talisman hidden in his clothes was effective.
Just as the same group of soldiers who had brought him here were about to take him back, they passed through a sparsely populated area, and one by one, the soldiers fell down without making a sound!
Richardson turned around in surprise and found that they had all been shot in the head and killed instantly!
Someone pulled him away and temporarily hid him in an empty house.
Ren Shuai handed him a talisman, "This is an invisibility talisman. Stick it on your body and don't tear it off before I come back. Don't run around either. I will take you out."
Richardson nodded quickly and stuck the talisman on his forehead. He huddled in a corner, waiting nervously.
A moment later, he heard a commotion, as if something had gone wrong during the execution of prisoners.
After sending Richardson away, Ren Shuai immediately returned to the underground palace.
Cat hadn't anticipated that the leader's residence was underground. She could easily steal the goods and run away on her own, but taking Richardson with her was definitely not an option.
He told Ren Shuai to hide him after he left.
Inside the palace.
The cat approached the box, intending to snatch it.
The leader suddenly said, "We can't rely entirely on that lock-picking expert. Did you bring the person I asked you to hire?"
An officer said, "He's here. Please wait in the other room."
The leader said, "Let him come over."
